I watched Season 2 over this past week. Overall, I don’t quite like it as much as the first. The running gag of Olaf fooling everyone with a flimsy disguise has worn thin by now. I’m not that taken with the darker tone, either. Now perhaps it’s just the writers staying faithful to the source material — I haven’t read the books yet, so I don’t know — but it rankles, regardless.
Those nits picked, the acting and direction and dialogue remain amazing.
★★★★★★★★☆☆
I only watched season one, but I didn’t care for this series. Olaf feels like a fan trying to do an impression of Jim Carry and failing. Pretty much every aspect of the movie works better in my opinion.
Sometimes I think you want to fail.
You’re just denying the fact that when Jim Carry’s Olaf is disguised, he’s genuinely frightening, but in this he’s just a silly TV villain. The kind whose “evil plans” of wasting water without paying for it are foiled weekly by those darn kids.
The first half of Rogue One is quite boring.
Come at me, bro.
Well, I didn’t like the non-boring parts either, so I suppose I’ll have to come at you twice. I’m eating a brownie right now, though.

I hate my internet.
I hate your internet too.
I don’t think it’s crazy that some people want to put their best foot first and not make a bad impression. I don’t know if I’d say that’s being dishonest or lying. Just because you’re not necessarily airing all your bad qualities right away doesn’t mean you’re not being yourself. It’s natural to open up more the more you get to know someone. Again, I wouldn’t call that dishonesty.
If you’re months deep in a relationship and you still don’t feel comfortable being open and yourself, that’s not a relationship you should be in, simple as that.
This.
I’ve never been on a date, and I still agree with everything above.
This.

Not what I meant. I meant people should not play weird mind games and lie to each other for the first several months or years of their relationship.
You act like this kind of behavior is normal in romantic relationships.
So are mine… except for one Grandmother.
I am pretty sure I feel
OT.com is the best online dating site.
But people wore baseball caps all the time in the 1960s.
Mine had four kids each by the late 60s. What is this, a contest? 😛
Well, mine was middle-aged.
Thank you. The jacket was my Grandfather’s. I think he would’ve worn it in the 1970s, but I’m not certain when it was made.

He just wants people to not use an “out of context” thread as the “random thoughts” thread. That’s what Random Thoughts is there for. His thread was/is an improvement over this one, because there are rules regarding what “doing it right” is.
I was just looking through some old pages in this thread and this made me laugh:
Have a nice day.
I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Actually that’s just false. There are plenty of dangerous people who cross the border illegally, just like there are dangerous people in country legally. Dangerous people and non-dangerous people sneaking through are not mutually exclusive.
There are dangerous people. Period. Whether or not a few of them exist in a group that crosses the border has little point. We already have lots of dangerous people in this country who were born in this country. It’s paranoia to single out illegal immigrants as some sort of significant threat worthy of mobilizing armed forces. As though there isn’t something better the Guard could be doing.
You just admitted that what you said was false
I did? Which part of what I said?
You said that there are dangerous people, period
Yes. There are dangerous people everywhere. That’s make the people crossing the border dangerous, much less more dangerous than people who are already here.
Citation also needed for it being false.
Your original statement was that no dangerous people enter this country illegally.
No. My original statement was that Trump was sending the Guard down to prevent a “caravan” from crossing the border. I hadn’t read the article, so I assumed he was pulling a ficticious particular caravan of illegal immigrants out of his rear end. That doesn’t mean I think no one illegal crosses the border. I know they do. But the fact that they do doesn’t mean they’re dangerous or that Trump isn’t still pulling the idea out of his rear end.
I’m not talking about scare tactics to turn everyone against immigrants, I’m talking about facts.
To say “dangerous people cross the border” does not convey the same information as saying something like “50,000 people cross the border and 12 of them are dangerous”.
You missed my point. Yes your original statement was that there is no caravan. But that’s not what I was responding to. I was responding to your statemement that dangerous people do not cross the border illegally. This is false, regardless of how many dangerous people cross the border illegally.
That doesn’t make one specific occurrence of it special, or worthy of military action.
You are talking about Trump, who you claim isn’t rational.
And it doesn’t mean Trump still isn’t pulling the idea to do something about it out of his butt or on a whim from what someone said because they said it recently enough.
I never even said anything about why he would consider doing something about it. I just said that Trump don’t like caravan, so Trump may stop caravan with military. Which has nothing to do with how he got that idea.

You said that there are dangerous people, period, and alluded to the idea that there are in fact bad people who come across the border, but that we shouldn’t focus attention on them.
Citation also needed for it being false.
Your original statement was that no dangerous people enter this country illegally. That statement is false, and no citation is needed. Our old pal Ferris even mentioned running into murderers who happened to be illegal aliens, and that’s just one cop. Like I said, dangerous people and non-dangerous people entering the country are not mutually exclusive. I’m not talking about scare tactics to turn everyone against immigrants, I’m talking about facts.

You just admitted that what you said was false, which means my statement was not incorrect. You made my point for me.
Are you trying to say that it’s out of Trump’s character to use an unnecessary level of military force to stop migrants from entering the country?
