Been a while away from this thread, quick update here:

Work has begun on this project, though I think it’s going a little slow. Anyone who is vaguely interested keep an eye open for more info as I finish more of the edit. Also be aware that the specific edits will not necessarily be the same as discussed in this thread previously.

Didn’t some Techs have more yellow and blue, rather than green? The alternate Tech has pretty much no green cast. Almost every part of the image that’s green cast in the main tech is either straight up blue or is more yellow than green.

Yeah, spinning the Earth was the ending to II, but they had to rush Part I to release, so they put that ending in the script for I. The Donner Cut of II was just Donner reassembling the original script for II, which hadn’t had the ending replaced since Donner never got around to that during production.

I think he might be talking about something that I’ve experienced, which is when I try to backspace on mobile, it sometimes jumbles some of the words without reason. Like I’ll click back mid sentence to fix a typo and when I backspace to erase it the interface just takes the word I’m erasing and the previous word and mixes them together. I don’t know what causes it, but this specific typo (“aboumonnarchs”) seems indicative of the same problem.

From the 35mm Kubrick festival I just returned from:

I loved most of it, though the beginning portion didn’t feel particularly special. Nothing bad, and the last bit was superb.

Haven’t seen this in a long time, so there was a lot of great humour I didn’t remember. I think it’s one of Kubrick’s best films, even down to the end credits being timed to the music. That is, out of his films I have seen so far.

I liked the second half of this a lot better this time around. I suppose it’s because I knew what was coming, but it grew on me now anyway. Certainly flawed, and not anywhere near my favorites of Kubrick’s work, but great nonetheless.

The first is movies I will definitely be watching again, the second is movies I will probably watch again, or might watch again under certain circumstances, and the third is movies I have absolutely no desire to revisit.

NeverarGreat’s version was not foolproof. Tech prints of Star Wars generally had a lot of green casting, especially in the dark areas IIRC. That shot may be an anomaly from that specific print, but even then, it would be generally accurate.
