Read update #2 in the OP.

I read the post in the Legacy thread just before I came back here and saw this reply. Yes, now I do. What’s wrong with Negative1?!?!

A couple of the lightsaber duels

None of the lightsaber duels were any good.

If so then all of the duels in the OT were utter garbage…

No, they weren’t. Regardless of story, the OT duels were designed like real sword duels, while the PT duels were ballets. They weren’t fighting how real sword masters would fight. The “styles” exercised had so many wholes in them you can hardly count. The OT duels were choreographed by a swordplay expert, to look like real sword fights. Even Vader was played by Bob Anderson for all of his stunts in ESB and ROTJ. So he was actually sword fighting. He also personally trained Mark Hamill for the sequels. I can definitely forgive Ben’s awkward spin when comparing it to the PT duels.

Team Negative1 - Star Wars 1977 - 35mm Eastman Vs Technicolot Theatrical Version (* unfinished project *)

^I second this. Also, they didn’t even finish the preservation project. There’s still a ton of stuff to be done to the SSE for it to be considered “finished”, the same goes for ESB Grindhouse, and they didn’t even do ROTJ. We want the Tech finished! Who’s gonna do it without the team?

Kind of like CGI Yoda in the TPM Blu-ray, to be honest. Puppet Yoda may have been creepy, but he wasn’t from the Uncanny Valley.

Yeah, even though the TPM puppet didn’t look like OT Yoda, and it was a little creepy, CGI Yoda didn’t look like OT Yoda either, and was equally creepy at times. I mean, he constantly has his head down, with his eyes looking up at everyone. Why can’t he lift his head up a little bit? Look at the people you’re talking to with your mannerisms, not just your eyes, freak.

It kind of reminds me of this guy:

EDIT: What happened to my image of puppet Yoda?!?! Fixed.

A couple of the lightsaber duels

None of the lightsaber duels were any good. They were cheap entertainment without meaning or reality. They all suffer from being too well choreographed. What ever happened to having the duels set up by an actual expert in swordplay?

Worlds like [Waterfall City], Coruscant and Kamino are beautiful and make the universe feel much larger than it is in the OT

I don’t have much against the designs per-say, but all of these places look so fake and are so full of crap that it’s hard to call them beautiful.

…but the OUT had the Wolfman so…

Not a bad thing.

^Same. Most people I talk to around my age refuse to watch any movie made pre-2000 because they’re so old, and then I contradict them when they watch (or speak of watching) movies like Forest Gump. A lot of my friends joke that I’m the reincarnation of some guy from the 19th century, because I like some older things. So, the product of a generation thing probably happens to most, then the exceptions are those who were properly exposed to older things throughout their childhood, without being given an overly biased opinion from someone else, regarding “new is always better”.

EDIT: Also, I just thought it would be funny to mention, sometime last year, I had to explain to one of my friends what the difference is between good CGI and bad CGI.
