I look forward to hearing what this "sideline project" is about, because I have not yet made that step.  Well, I made that step, just in the wrong direction.  ;-)

maybe another battledroid reference could be added?

But would'nt they have melted that droid by then? I mean, I doubt battledroids were used after the clonewars right? So it should've been deactivated for 20 years... unlikely to be collecting dust in a recycling facility.

Maybe I'm just thinking too much :P

Looks great! :) Though, the way it's positioned, that shadow looks kinda funny now, like it's joined with the guns. Haha. It looks like a four-eyed alien slug or something. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything...

what shadow do you mean. can you point it out please?

I think he meant this :P :

Wow, first time viewer.  Um, we'd love Revisited to be your first step into the larger world.  Let us know how you think it fits in with everything else!

I just have 2 more questions before I watch

1.Do you think this is better overall (Audio, Video, Movies Changes) Better than the box set that I have found is it just a better overall release and more true the original

2.What would be the truest thing I could get to the orignal on dvd. Would it be the laser discs transfers on the bonus disc of the SE edition dvds or would be something off of here(this website).

Thanks, I am really excited about watching Star Wars for the first time ever.

If you want the original: go with the bonus disc

Once you've seen that one, watch ady's version and be amazed ;-)

Then, if you're up to it, watch the 2004 DVD... and be shocked

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: The InfoDroid Edit (Released)
Time

I for one love this edit :-)

Really well done, it's the first time I've watched TOD without cringing ;)

There was only one part I "didn't like": just before the flashback we get an evening view of the palace, which I thought was confusing. I think the flashback would've worked better without it. But really, that's like one second... the rest was great.

The new opening, the new less annoying willie, the new shorty, ... all great changes.

You've succesfully replaced my TOD disc :-)

3. Luke and Leia kiss. Obviously its up to Adywan but this kiss is in disagreement to all nations and all cultures including the US and UK. And its a U-rated film! I don't think we (especially the Parents amongst us) are comfortable with our kids watching this. I favour a complete cut, but i don't know how that will be done though, even to tone it down.

I remember Luke and Leia sayig in ROTJ that "they've always known" upon finding out the truth. Even though Luke liked Leia in ANH, he never went further than that and so did Leia as something was holding them back. Thoughts anyone?

The only problem with Luke & Leia's kiss is that people now look at it with the benefit of hindsight. In the context of the film, with what the characters knew at that point in time, it made perfect sense. Remember, Leia was arguing with Han over THEIR feelings for each other. She just kissed Luke just to piss Han off. And it worked.

That aside, even Luke's and Leia's suspicions and feelings about each other didn't start to reveal themselves until they were escaping from Bespin - at the earliest - and even at that, it was just Luke using the Force to call to Leia out of desperation, not sibling bonding. Leia then kissing Luke on the Falcon was just "caregiver instinct" because of the shape he was in, not sexual tension.

Obi-Wan:
"You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view."

Qui-Gon:
"Your focus determines your reality."

Well said Ziz.

also: "this kiss is in disagreement to all nations and all cultures including the US and UK."
I mean, WTF? It's a bloody KISS.

The DVD is finished. I'm mailing it to Throwgncpr tomorrow and he'll be distributing it through Rapidshare on Fanedited.com. From there, I'm sure it'll end up as a torrent at some point.

I feel like I've just given birth. LOL

A finished InfoDroid project? :P This I gotta see ;-)

great!! It will be uploaded the day I get it. :)

Excellent

Is it a DVD-5 or DVD-9 btw? :)

The only thing I'd like to see added from the prequels is Palpatine's music to the hologram.

Perhaps, but I really like what's already there...
adywan said:

I have been thinking about adding a very subtle snippet of the Emperors theme to the hologram scene but the music is so great for that scene as it is it would only be a very short sample.

I guess that might work, as long as we can keep the "creepy" original music.

and yeah, I had almost forgotten about the moles... must've blocked it out.
(I still don't get how they promoted this film as using little CGI, but still opening with a crappy looking CGI mole...)

Still, good luck on getting your backups back... I hope it won't be too much of a bitch to transfer.

No, don't stop! Look at it this way: life must always be in balance. All the bad luck you get now means something amazing must be coming. :D
Perhaps lots and lots of praise for a certain reborn saga...

(plus the new indy wasn't thát bad... sure surviving a nuclear explosion was over the top, and we got a bit too much aliens, but there were some classic indy moments as well)

I just looked at a few minutes from the Purist edition, I'm very happy to have this second disk without the controversial changes (although I do like most of them) but I I found another (unadvertised) change you made: 3P0 again says "There'll be no escape for the princess this time".
Why did you change this back?
I can't remember anyone complaining about it, plus getting rid of "the princess" was one of my favourite fixes as it really makes the story make more sense...

Are there any other changes you made? I haven't had the time to watch the entire thing yet

[edit] it's apparantly easy to misunderstand my words: this question was meant in the friendly curious tone, not the angry I-want-it-my-way one.
