Thought so. Dont know what your getting at, other than the label art included with the torrent, but edskizzorhands may be an idea to do some sort of disk art to match your fantastic cover there. It would be far to easy with the sunset and the mariner to go with your cover, so how about Nala and the decon for the disks? If you can grab them.

George Lucas in carbonite
Time

Whist Lucas is still ticking away, most of us (now it seems) will lap up his scence of humor. But, give the man a break though. Without his mind in the first place, none of us would be typing here.

I personally, owe a large part of my childhood to Mr Lucas.

How much input did George really have compaired to lately, did George actually have?

Looks like a cross section of a giant industrial erm, A, sort of, tally whacker (translation to our NTSC buddys reads-'penis'), there, perhaps, with the large bottom bit, narrowly funneling upwards, leading upto the rounded bit on the end, which makes the whole sequence a hell of a lot more comical when you think of it that way!

Hang on, the death star could be the egg. The rebel transports (if you add a tail) could be the swimmers, eah, maybe....?

Ive read far too many books, methinks.....

Sorry to lower the tone :-(

Eh? Was this topic ever about smokin a spliff? Would be more appealing if you re-titled it.

Substances, (EDIT: sod it. Dont want to sound like im selling a way of life!). But ive come full circle, that changes a way of thinking at an early age.

Every one trys to come across as pretty cool in Adys thread, thats what pisses me off. Arse licking noobs, and those who know anything, post every few once in a blue moon.

I'm not so sure about "not enough Imperial presence".  One of the things the films deal with thematically is the Empire's arrogance, that just the fact that they're there should be enough to scare people.  To that end, they don't send everything they've got to every battle, just what they think will be needed for the situation.  All they expected to be escaping from Hoth was a couple of slow, bulky transports, a few fighters and the Falcon.  From the Empire's perspective, the Falcon was the only one that was a challenge - the rest were fish in a barrel.

As far as all the "ship travel direction" stuff, that feels like it's getting nit-picky.  If you've ever tried to take real photos of objects staged a certain way you know that camera angles, shapes and perspective can play tricks on you if you're not careful.  I read that when they first started filming the Enterprise D for Star Trek:TNG, the oval saucer was throwing them off - they had to film the ship from weird angles and going in illogical directions to correct the skewed perspective to make it look like it was going straight on screen.  Could be something similar happening here.

Agreed. But with a force large enough to control a galaxy, even a small showing of power from the Empror should be over whelming enough to shock the viewer primarily into thinking resistance may be futile (what the hell am i going on about?).

What! Enterprise! Imperial alligence? Perhaps theres another story there (oh god, damn the repercussions of even suggesting that here!).

Josh, who is AdyMan? No idea who your going on about, but who ever he is, it would be his choice anyway, despite you saying that it maybe his choice in the end. And i have been sleeping like a log ever since (for a change, just got the one eye open these last few nights, and the guard stick is no longer under my pillow now, but its close enough). I think YOUR threats are futile perhaps :-D

Im glad you left the logos in (i hate logos over recordings at the best of times), though as when you bother to notice them, you can apriciate how slick the editing/cutting really is (i had to constantly remind myself that none of this is sourced from the DVD itself).

Its long so set aside an un-interupted 3 hours to yourself when viewing (though not anywhere near as dragged out as i was possibly expecting from McFlys comments).

Yeah the skip between disks comes very mid flow into the trade scene and got me unaware even though i was expecting it at some point.

But this felt and sounded like Waterworld as ive never known it before. I really love it (i havent even had time to view the extras as yet).

Everyone can nit pick, (sound was a little muffled at points with the source, and there was a glitch with the video at one point for a fraction of a second - going to have to go back through it to get the time code) but its something you can damn well live with just to get your hands on this rare gem.

Thanks so much McFly for your time and effort. Very, very much apriciated bud.

EDIT: gone back through my files on my PC and the glitch wasnt there, so it may be my player or the disk i burnt it on.

Yes. Thats one of the flaws with Empire, is that theres not enough Imperial presence on screen at any one time.

I think most people will agree on the build up to the attack on hoth is lacking, and perhaps looks like a budget cut on the imperials point of view, compared to the armada of of battle ships at the start of epiosde 3 or the death star battle of Jedi. Shots 12 and 13 could also do with populating on a greater scale, to show how the ion cannon cuts through the imperial attack to create an escape route for the rebel transport (as opposed to the one ship).

At first glance i thought you were over using the Execudor shots there but i can totally understand your reasoning when reading your suggestions (though i think the shot in 7 and 8 is too in your face as i think it would hang back from the first wave of attack akin to the japanise did with the Yamato battleship in WWII. I also always looked at that as being a shot from the bridge, until now, and i agree, it is really a port side window).

Sorry, the Bespin tie fighters are to me an un-needed destraction though, as the film works well enough without the need to tinker there.

Also 5 and 6 would be one of 'those' moments that really stand out from the original cut, and i would love to see that in one way or another.

Well done 005 and Imperial Fighter, even if nothing comes into fruitation in the end that was a great read/viewing. And I love seeing realistic ideas here that think outside the box, just without being 'outside' the box.

I am sorry, but I cannot help wounder why we seem to be going back over the same 'arguments' over and over again.

I think some seem to be forgetting the purpose of Adywan's edit. This edit was started 'cuz the SE was a disappointment for him as well as a lot of people (to put it mildly).

It's Adywan's edit. If he says he hates a scene and wants to cut or change it, it's his prerogative. If you disagree, that's OK, but provide a convincing argument or alternative helpful suggestion, but to keep using the "...because I like it" counter argument just isn't going to get anywhere.

If you love the SE additions, and are adamant about 'keeping' scenes, dialogue, voice overs, FX etc., all you have to do is put in your original SE DVD and they are all there intact for your viewing pleasure.

But, if you are like me, and cannot watch the SE without wanting to launch the DVD into the air and blow it to bits like a clay pigeon, then this edit is more for you. The SE created more problems then it fixed.

It's like replacing the Engine from a '52 Chevy Corvette with a Ford Mustang when the transmission was what was broken. Sure there are some out there who may think that this was a 'cool' idea. But it didn't address the issue, and it just doesn't run the same.

Finally!!! Some-one finally pipes up thats singing from the same hymn sheet maybe there, possibly (as i didnt get the muscle car reference)???

And, you 'may' sound like an a*se licker just by saying so. But, spoken from the heart, so amen, brother ;-)

With reference to Imperial Fighters 2nd wampa (the original man in a suit), here he is in full glory (i sh*t you not!).

Just dont make it look like the last one too much (the facial close up), as i almost fell out of my seat, the first time i looked at it (although i think they did only intend to use the suit for long shots in the original film).

Ah, i made that same mistake. Apparently its best to seed to five or six exclusive members with torrents, then go pubic, as they can leech off multiple seeders and speed the whole thing up twice as fast.

Still your almost there McFly and doing that on your own is something you can also be really proud of.

We should be there by this time 2morrow, so give yourself a break once we can seed for you when done.

To everyone else. Once we get to 100% dont just cut off the torrent, as its taken McFly a lot of effort to get this out to you. Even if you burn the files to disk, leave your client running beyond the 100% in the background (okay it may slow your browsing a little bit), just so you can share the hard work thats gone into this (some people just dont get how torrents work, and thats why they die after a few months).

Thank you many times over for the effort youve put in on this one. Its a very rare gem that i can boast about in my collection from now on, so if i can help you in any way in the future then just say the word my friend.

For once, im lost for words aswell.....

Just trying to bring a little bit of light hearted relief (in laughter), in between the constant demands. Perhaps im maybe looking at it the wrong way?

Im getting uneasy about the "MR." Darth Solo reference there Josh, as I had no idea my life is in jeopardy as a result (I can see Mel Gibson on a horse, with a spikey ball and chain standing over my bed every time i retire from now on).

Im missing StinkyDinkins on the the forums though.

Imperial Fighter - like i say to Ady, dont get pressured. Do what you need to do, till your happy with your work, otherwise you wont do your work full justice. It'll be ready just as soon as its done, not beforehand.

In the meantime, i'll provide the light relief...........(probably should push on with the work then Imerial Fighter and Adywan, otherwise there wont be anyone here to listen to your ideas once im done :D ).

As a side note, i do get loads of things wrong, yet im proud enough to adimit it. I was wrong to challenge you Adywan over a 1080 release, as i was just trying to help you justify your reasoning for the hard work you have yet to come.

Maybe works on three levels also, even if you cant get beyond the second level, though i bet you can (what the hell am i going on about Mr. Solo?).

Hooragh, i finally get what your talking about now ImperalFighter! :-)

I really do like that suggestion there Bingowings. It also confirms, on a third level, Ben's warning about being seduced by the dark side when leaving dagobah, as if to warning to Luke about being "power hungry" inside, like his father was (unknown to Luke at that time). May also add to the line "join us, and we can rule galaxy, as father and son", as Vader can teach Luke more than what any Jedi can, as an ironic nod towards Anakins demise in episode 3 (incidently, with George spouting on about revolving story lines, and baby Anakins clorine count being off the charts, i was almost convinced Palps was Annies prodical papa somewhere in the prequels, just to give us that same shock value as the reveal in empire-but NO!).

I remember Jambe pasting together samples by James Earl Jones together from his other movies to make Vader say what he wanted him to say, for a project if im not mistaken.
