Shim, along the lines of what ric said. Its just words...how are 1 persons words oppressing the 'gays' even if said on gay pride week. what your arguing isnt about freedom of beliefs or speech. Your arguing that someone doesnt have the rights to voice an opinion against any other persons opinion. If someone calls me stupid i have 5 choices 1) cry about it 2) call them a stupid back 3) have the teacher give them detention (aka get the law involved to show im right) 4) do nothing and ignore them or 5) i can prove them wrong

obviously 4 and 5 are gonna be the most productive choices. Do you think that guy would have wrote/said what he did if he knew that everyone would just ignore it and it would have no effect at all? I seriously doubt it. What i find funny is your arguing one thing in this thread and then in another thread your saying things cause you know that they are pissing JediKev off just for the fact of pissing him off because your having girl troubles, and your best friend is not near you. Like Sessler said, Cry me a river.

Im not trying to defend JediKev, I honestly dont know why he's getting so worked up over what your saying, but to bring this thread on topic I hate people that bully/piss others off just cause they can or to make themselves feel better.

The problem i see with that is the old cliche, 'To many cooks spoil the broth'

If everyone has a say in it (or access to it to give their opinion) they a) wont necessarily make decisions that are best for the overall project/restoration and that b) just flat out dont know what the scene really should look like. I may think that R2 is too blue in one scene, or the scene is too dark when in fact it could be a 100% perfect representation of how it should be, its just not how i remember it. They've stated that they have other sources to reference to get the colors and saturation back to (or very close to) the correct balance. And from what they have shown us so far I dont think they really need more input, especially since that will just cause them to have to sift through countless emails/pms just to get the maybe 1 or 2 a day that are actually worth anything. There are other people on this board that can probably offer useful opinions such as those doing their own restorations (as im sure there are others) but they know who most of these people that can be
of actual help are and are more than capable of contacting them for their opinions if they decide they need to.

plus the size of the raw capture would be to large for most people, so they would have to at least compress that down to a dvd.

not saying that you personally wouldnt offer valuable input, or that no one would. And I by no means am speaking for the X0 team. This is just my 2 cents/opinion on what I would do if i were in their shoes.

I think this whole part of the scene should be removed. In TPM Anakin tells Jar-Jar that if his hand gets in the power coupling on the pod racer that it will be numb for hours...then Obi-Wan and Anakin fly through a much more powerful one and they are fine seconds later? It just didnt sit right with me. Of course it may work if you removed this scene from TPM (which i think you said you did) but i still remember that, so im always biased agains that scene cause of the continuity i mentioned

I just found a vhs that has Star Wars: The Magic and the Mystery on it. Its a documentary from when the SE’s were comming out hosted by Howie Long. I dunno if this is on ocpmovie’s special edition hype or not but if people are interested (and its not out there) I can make a capture of it

Obi-wonton/Rikter and other audiophiles/audio experts.

I know this is a bit off topic, but ive seen this one receiver that had 10.2, it was an onkyo dont remember the model number could prob find it if i googled...think it was 989 or something like that. Is something like that worth it, it was expensive as hell (like 2.5 grand) but it also had every type of input/output you could want. Down the line when i can afford to get my own home theater setup i plan on getting a nice receiver so is it not worth it to get something like this? Is something with 6.1 enough? I realize that this can be dated and by the time I buy the stuff it may change...but what would the answer be now? If you were gonna go out and buy a receiver what would you get?

PSYCHO, I asked once before, but wanted to check if there was any further developments or info.

Has anything been said about a Directors cut of Lethal Weapon 4, and consequently a new box set that has all 4 directors cuts. currently the directors cut box set is just the first 3 and the complete collection (all 4 movies) is the regular versions. I really want to get these movies but am afraid as soon as I decide to get the directors box and then 4 seperatly they will release a 4 disc with all directors cuts.

I think i know what your talking about with someone saying not to use svideo...but if i remember (and i may be totally wrong as i really dont know much about this) i think they said that for laserdisc players as most of the players split the signal more or did more processing to the signal when you went through the svideo...but i could be totally wrong.

ahhh, my bad...i reversed who said the 'I love you' and who said 'I know' and was thinking of the Cloud City scene.
