I watched the first ten minute and it is astonishing how Boba is nearly a silent protagonist so far after being so talkative in the series, which seemed against character. I like the action and music speaking for itself and a more stoic, calculating Boba.

You would think a bounty hunter of Boba’s caliber might plan ahead before muscling in on the underworld. This is going to take a lot of work…what a disjointed mess this series was. This literally made to be rescued by a fan edit and I believe that is the only way I would view it again beyond Epidodes 5 and 6 and maybe 7. I cannot wait to see what you come up with Smudger!

I personally would like to see the inclusion or even mention of Dooku in The Phantom Menance to better connect Episode I and Episode II. I believe this would really help sell his history with Qui Gon Jinn and make a larger impact on Attack of the Clones when we see he has left the Jedi Order and is working in opposition of the Republic.

Perhaps digitally add him to the council scenes (does not need to talk) or even have him look on as an attendant at Qui Gon’s funeral. It latter could also be a subtle hint at him be Maul’s successor as apprentice to Palpatine and the camera could now linger on both Dooku and Palpatine during Yoda and Mace Windu’s discussion at the end about who was killed, master or apprentice.

Hal, I agree. It did not seem to make a lot of logical sense why Boba would be looking for his armor down in the belly of the Sarlacc. He escaped and was knocked out by the Jawas. Even if he didn’t remember that due to being delirious or some form of amnesia, you would think that he would know he could not have emerged from there unscathed or even alive without having had his armor on. As much as I liked seeing the Sarlacc destroyed by a seismic charge, it was unnecessary and could be cut for this edit in my opinion.

“We Will Watch Your Career With Great Interest.” This series definetly is crying out to have a fan edit made of it. I am not really feeling through three epiodes, that the comment of “all killer no filler” from Robert Rodriguez has aged well. The flashback scenes have been impressive, but the post Mando Season Two scenes have left a lot to be desired. I am hoping the next few episodes ramp up the action and expand on Boba’s motivation for wanting to be a crime lord in more detail.

If not, a fan edit like yours may be my go to method for watching this story in the future. Loved the opening video with custom crawl you shared by the way. May the force be with you and keep up the good work!

I am so pumped for version two. I am always in awe of what this community can accomplish. I love the newly updated opening sequence, the seemingless puppet show and the masterful ending. I believe we are mainly waiting for the crackling saber effects to be finished and touch up on Luke’s hair. No rush, but V2 would certainly be a nice Christmas Present. Thanks again for all effort and time that has been put into this project. It does not go unnoticed and you have all saved the sequel trilogy for a SW fan like me!

I am certainly not take credit for coming up with the concept, but when I first saw the film in theaters I was shocked JJ didn’t insert this idea into the film. The setup was there and it would have been a subtle nod to Luke’s valiant stand on Crait and its impact on the rest of the galaxy at large. It also would make the civilian fleet showing up at the end of the film not so jarring. Honestly, someone tweaking this scene to show a puppet Luke and an AT-AT is my last wish for V2 of this edit!

This mockup is definitely what I had in mind. I know it is small in the grand scheme of things and won’t make or break V2, but it would be a cool little throwback/ easter egg!

Between Coruscant in the background in the the boardroom meeting, Vader’s castle now on Mustafar and Luke’s hair being corrected I am a pretty happy camper when it comes to how V2 is shaping up. However, one very minor idea that has been brought up here in the past that I would love to still see implemented is a recreation of Luke’s stand on Crait in TLJ when the children are gathered around that “mini play” on Pasaana. I was actually pretty surprised JJ didn’t do this in the original cut because it would be so easy to briefly reference the last film and how word of Luke standing up to the FO has spread throughout the galaxy. It also would make the final arrival of the civilian fleet make a little more sense in my opinion. What do you guys/gals think?

Thanks for everything you do; we will be patiently awaiting V2. Perhaps this is the wrong thread to ask this on, but what alterations are proposing on the updated TFA cut?

I’ve been advocating for Vader’s castle to appear in the background on Mustafar and I think this shot is perfect. I’m all for an establishing shot if it can be pulled off convincingly, but if not I think this is a nice Easter Egg as is. I’d definitely be down for this appearing in the final edit regardless if it’s a blink and you miss it shot if the establishing shot of the castle doesn’t come to fruition. Great work, MR!

Awesome work, poppa! Not only does this add so much world building to this scene, it also connects to the montage of Coruscant added to the end of this edit quite nicely. We as an audience have now seen an occupying star destroyer floating above the former capital of the Republic and get to watch it fall by the end of the movie.

I think it is subtle, but goes to show the power of faneditting. This community is so talent and I am always blown away by what everyone can accomplish, but not remotely surprised either. Now onward to Vader’s castle on Mustafar when someone finds the time!

It is an extremely small grip in the grand scheme of things. Love the edit and now I am looking forward to watching your Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skulls edit as well. I am very interested in seeing how you pull of the plot without actual aliens within the film. However back to a galaxy far, far away…do you ever have plans to make fan edits of Episode II or Episode VI? I think we have similar outlooks on SW and I have some fanedits I watch of those films, but still am not completely satisfied with them. Didn’t know if you have plans to take a crack at any of the other saga films.

Not really what I had in mind, but thanks for sharing. This is very “fan-edity” to me; I wanted something much more subtle. Just for Coruscant to appear from orbit behind the window in the boardroom meeting with FO top brass.

I just rewatched the current version of this edit and I can honestly say it has improved my perspective greatly. This community is beyond talented and I thank Hal for all his hard work and dedication to this franchise over the years. However, along with my request to add Vader’s castle at Mustafar and Coruscant at the boardroom meeting, is there a way to make Ben’s finally words in the trilogy not be “ouch”?

I know it is a minor gripe, but it still bothers me. After a fresh watch, it seems there are moment’s when Ben’s mouth/face is obstructed by darkness, perhaps we could get a subtle “Rey” or “No” before he rises to face Palpatine and his face is obscured or when he is struggling to Rey after returning from his descent down the pit. Perhaps others will think this is a waste of time or unnecessary, but in mind anything is better than the protagonist’s/antagonist’s of the entire trilogy last lines to be basically a grunt. What is everyone thoughts on this? I know it maybe nitpicky; let me know.

Words cannot express how much I love this edit. I have watched countless edits of TLJ over the years and while I liked a lot of the ideas, the sum of all the parts ultimately were always lacking to me. This is now my definitive edit of TLJ; so much so that I erased all previous edits I have downloaded over the years off my computer. You absolutely crushed it.

The teases of Palaptine, the new music that swells, Luke’s green lightsaber and holy hell…Holdo is not only a likeable hero now, but an integral part of the resistance. So glad the Holdo/Poe subplot has been jettison, Canto Bight (Rose/ Finn’s Love Angle) is no more and Phasma dies in the ruins of Starkiller Base; especially since most of these plots are not touched upon again TROS. You won me over with the caretakers and the third lesson too as they have never been my favorite. My only minor nitpick is Luke’s green saber/ Luke’s blue saber hilt switch back and fourth during his fight with Kylo. Not a huge deal, but it took me a little bit out of the moment as it happens a couple times. Overall in terms of fan edits, 4.5 out of 5. I adore this edit! May I please get a link to this fan edit? This seems like my cup of tea, minus the caretaker’s presence. What cues to Palpatine’s arrival in TROS did you insert into this edit? So far FallenKnight’s edit has been my favorite version of TLJ, but seems a little too short for my taste. I am really looking forward to this. Thanks!

Hey Guys! Just checking in, love the edit and I look forward to an updated version someday on the horizon. I know introducing the crackle saber and fixing Luke’s hair seem to be the prevailing topics at the moment. I also think the Kylo/ Palpatine clone exchange has some potential. However, two early ideas that seem to have been dropped by the wayside as the editing process went on is the insertion of Vader’s castle on Mustafar and the insertion of Coruscant in the background of the boardroom meeting with the FO officers. Is there any chance this could still end up in V2? I know they aren’t monumentally important additions in the grand scheme of things, but they were on my wish list and I think it would help connect all the films in the saga and be nice for world building. What is everyone’s thought?
