Star Wars Episode II: The Approaching Storm (Released)

We are of the same mind it seems, SMan. I’m a huge fan of this edit, as well as CoD, but I just can’t stop myself from a purely extended version of ROTS. Plus, I actually slid the Yoda vs. Dooku duel into the end of my personal copy of this edit.

One day I’d definitely like to see a super-duper extended version of AotC with the Kenobi flashback in it. I’d mostly want to see if that scene allows for the rest of the Anakin and Obi-Wan scenes to make sense, as well as give purpose to Anakin’s rants about him to Padme. With Padme’s family scenes, the cringe from the Anakin and Padme’s love scenes might be subdued a little, too.

But I have a feeling this will probably remain my definitive version of Episode 2. Like you said, it’s just a fun film providing a great time now without all that baggage. You don’t really have to think about or justify any of the questionable content since it’s all been smoothly cut out.

I agree, I would like to see the Kenobi flashbacks and brief extended shot of Boba from his series added into Episode II. Hal, have you ever thought of incorporating this content in this edit or has the final cut been locked in for good?

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

I know these projects are huge undertakings and take years. I am also aware Covid hindered this edit moving forward for awhile. However, I was just seeing if there has been any recent headway recently. Does Adywan still plan to extend the ground battle on Endor and shoot some additional scenes on location in California? I believe that idea was kicked around back in the day and I feel it would be epic if it could be pulled off.

I always wish we had of gotten the wookies intead of the ewoks for the final battle, but more rebel support would help sell the ending better I believe. Sorry if this has been touched on recently, this is just one of my most eagerly anticipated projects currently!

Between this project and Acbagel’s Way of Mandalore fanedit, “This will begin to make things right. I have been following the project on youtube and on here mainly. I am eagerly awaiting its release!

This project is still very much alive, folks! Progress has been slower in June/July because PJ has taken some time off for family trips and also took on additional work responsibilities (something also wrecking my The Way of Mandalore timeline!) for the Shelby Oaks film. He has 2-3 weeks left on that film and then should be free to grind out the last chunk of work on Trials of the Master. He is already done with the large majority of VFX and has shown the currently 2 hour 20 minute workprint to some people already. There’s a TON of content that hasn’t been shown in public updates. Even so, he has this VFX left to complete: “Fortress rescue sequence, one extra Vader throne room scene, lots of removal and paint-outs and several meditation environments.” Then soundtrack work, some touch ups/review, final storyline and scene cut/placement decisions and it’ll be ready. It will be released NLT Q4 2023.

Thanks for the update Acbagel; I appreciate it! Your completed Mandalore project and this one are some of my most anticapted edits in a long time. Also, is that the Shelby Oaks film from Chris Stuckman you are referring to?

Indiana Jones and the Fanedit of Destiny

I really will be looking forward to this. Cleaning up the de-aging scenes and adjusting Indy’s voice to reflect his age in WWII would be worth the edit alone. Also, trimming the length of time Indy is dangling from the hangman’s noose also is on my wish list. I would cut the clip of Indy running across the train at the beginning of the film; it looks really wonky. Also, some of the shots of old Indy on the horse in NYC look super fake. I think trimming the auction scene and tuk tuk car chase too. I’d have to see the film again, but this is some things off the top of my head.

Hey Acbagel! I am glad to hear of Book Five’s imminent release; I’d love a link when it is ready. I have enjoyed the other books so far and I am eager to see how you turn around a rather disappointing season three. You saving the Book of Boba Fett and season three of Mando have my biggest thanks and admiration!

Have you thought of potentially digitally adding Pedro Pascal’s head onto Din in the closing shot of season three? I do not know how hard this would be from a technological perspective, but from a character perspective and a story arc I think it could be a nice little payoff. From the end of season two, the show seemed to present conflict for Din in regards to his choice to take off his helmet to look at his child with “his own eyes” (it is like poetry). Then we found he had to atone for this by bathing in the water of Mandalore, kickstarting the quest in season three.

However by the time Bo joins the the covert/cult in season three, the rules seem to be bent to reunite Mandalore. The creed of not removing ones helmet seems to not be such a iron clad rule so much so that it is dropped as a recited part of the oath at the end of season three by the armorer. I believe this small addition could show Din has evolved as a character and while he is proud of his upbringing and mandalorian culture, he is no longer a slave to the covert/ cults strict rules. He can relax with his child/apprentice on his newly earned land in peace and turn over new leaf where he thinks for himself and forges his own path moving forward. What do you think?

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed my take on a Legends inspired Boba. Modern day Boba will come in Books 4 & 5, and I believe you’ll like him just as much! I’m still making great progress on Book 3, definitely will have it ready this week. And the production time on Book 4 will be much quicker since there isn’t a huge story order change like the first 3. I’m actually updating Books 4-6 right now as well while I have a couple more pairs of eyes doing bug reviews on 3, so all of the coming films are making good progress. I just started reorganizing Book 5 in light of Season 3, and then started storyboarding my Season 3 focused Book 6. Can’t wait for this last episode tomorrow so I can finally have the complete picture of what I can do!

Sent to Malgus and gurgle!

This is all positive news! I am looking forward to watching Book 3 this weekend if ready. I am about to watch the final episode of season three in a few minutes. I am eager to see how the whole series of books comes together once season three of mando comes to a close. Thanks for your amazing contribution to the fan community; may the force be with you…always!

I finished Book Two and really loved your depiction of Boba Fett. He is calculating and cunning; actually the bounty hunter I always envisioned. It is amazing what some editing can do to really tweak the depiction of a character. I also was generally surprised how well some scenes were reorganized and repurposed to fit your new narrative. Some of the scenes I thought especially worked well was the Sorgan village scenes and what you cut within those I was not sad to see go as it was one of my least liked episodes of season one.

It was a interesting take on cutting out the Fennec and Toro exchange, I am not 100% sure how I feel about its exclusion. I also see you glossed over Fennec being taken to a modder for life saving treatment. I guess we are to assume she has already been augmented before Boba finds her left for dead in the desert. My only very minor grip is I thought some of the early jumps from Sorgan to Tatooine were a bit jarring at times. Overall, great job; I am looking forward to V3 of Book 3 soon and seeing how you shape Boba’s potrayal in “modern day” as that is what I have had the largest issue with in the orginal Book of Boba Fett.

Sent! Hope you enjoy.

Minor spoilers from today’s episode below:

The Shadow Council scene is actually perfect for a spot in Book 3. As soon as I saw it I knew that was a missing piece that I needed in my current film. I’ll trim/edit some dialogue accordingly, but showing Gideon’s presence in the larger Imperial Remnant is perfect for continuing to build him up as a fleshed out villain in Season 2. Additionally, starting to tease Thrawn earlier is way better than the initial name drop from Ahsoka out of nowhere. I’m ~40% through updating Book 3 and starting to plug things into my change log now.

Just wondering, Moff Giedon’s appearance is slightly different in the latest episode of The Mandalorian with him no longer having a moutache. I know it is minor, but are you going to be able to do some digital trickery to account for his change from season one and two to season three if you plan to insert it into Book 3?

I just finished the first chapter and my favorite part by far to that edit is the new flashback insertion throughout from the pram in the trash to the final standoff between the Mandolorian forces and the bounty hunter guild on Nevarro! The contrast between Din’s introduction to Mandalorian culture and Grogu’s was perfection. The edit seemed seamless upon first viewing and I cannot wait to watch the revised episode II now. Keep up the great work and may the force be with you…always!

So I was eager to watch “Book Five” the most as the “present day” parts of The Book of Boba Fett is where I had the most issues with any disney plus series so far. Your fan edit is outstanding; I almost do to feel like I am watching the same content that was originally presented.

I loved how you restructured and repurposed some of the scenes throughout this chapter. You made the “mod squad” not eyeroll inducing and actually presented them as competant scouts in service of Boba’s interest. Another strength of the edit is how Boba starts out as already a sort of feudal lord respected by the townfolk and questioning whether he has choosen the right path by from transitioning from a Bounty Hunter to protector/crime boss from the very beginning. Boba is now assertive and a solid leader instead of being a dumbfounded fish out of water in his own series.

I also enjoyed how you removed some of the slapstick humor I did not think fit in a series about the most badass Bounty Hunter in the galaxy. Grogu not returning to Tatooine now was welcomed too and the Hutts were not missed at all. The intro of Black Krrsantan seemed so much more organic now and less convoluted, as well as all the Rancor material.Bravo! Great job; I cannot wait to watch the rest of the books in your series. May the force be with you!

Hey, everyone! Sorry for not posting over the weekend. Unfortunately I made a user error in a couple of the film renders and had to redo them. I actually started working on a drat of this project last year, and then began this version of the project by working on my previously rendered films which is why my quality of the source footage wasn’t the best, so the upscaling here is definitely needed. It’s a lengthy process that is taxing my CPU to the max but it’s making things look much better than my v1 releases.

Still on pace to have these links out very soon, apologies for the delay!

Still having PC issues? I am looking forward to the next episode. May the force be with you!

OLD BEN: An Obi-Wan Kenobi Fan Edit [ABANDONED]

WOW! I definitely wish the actual series had been more like this. I am loving this cut so far and the refocus on Obi Wan. He now seems like the protagonist of his own story which I felt was lost in the original series. The rough thirty minute cut was magic; can’t wait to see the final product. I “will watch your career with great interest!”

This is a big improvement…Bravo! I watched the last two episodes. I think cutting the slapstick of the rat catcher droid definetly worked and rearranging the scenes to make Boba’s inflitration of the palace more stealthy was nice. The Sarlac pit scene still bothers me as Boba is clearly stripped of the armor out of it in the beginning of the series and would know we could not have survived if he lost the armor before escaping the pit. The scene is a bit to fan servicey to me and the action is a little silly. Perhaps there might be a way to portray he was too delirous to remember following his ascent from the pit. However, I know some people enjoy it. I would personally just cut it.

The last episode still has issues, mainly the freetown folk and mod bike gang making the finale unbelievable with how few die against an army of Pyke and two heavy armored/ shielded droids. I don’t know if there is anything you can really do about this beyond cutting down the time we see them running down the street in no cover and the amount of time the are behind that wall that apaprently can take unlimited damage. Maybe add some wilhelm screams of camera to convey more people perished.

I do love you made Boba more decisive and assertive. The new ending works for me a lot, accept for the fade in to the repurposed stinger from the Mando season two. I think that may need a little more time to breathe, it is a bit abrupt. Overall, good job…the series is still not perfect, but you made it more enjoyable to watch. Thanks for all the hard work!
