What is your personal canon?

Moved from headcanon thread to here

This surely breaks up quite a bit of continuity.

I don’t think it makes much sense. I mean, if you don’t want to accept the Prequel Trilogy as it is, then you could accept the Attack of the Clones novelization as Episode I, then Labyrinth of Evil as Episode II and the Revenge of the Sith novelization as Episode III, plus the Clone Wars Multimedia Project. But accepting the Clone Wars Multimedia Project and at the same time TCW and The Bad Batch makes no sense, there are too many contradictions between these things.

Ranking the Star Wars films
Time

My updated ranking:

  1. Revenge of the Sith
  2. A New Hope
  3. Attack of the Clones
  4. Rogue One
  5. The Phantom Menace
  6. Return of the Jedi
  7. The Empire Strikes Back

The other films just don’t exist for me.
I greatly re-evaluated A New Hope. I rewatched it a few days ago, and I must say it’s much better than I remembered. The same goes for The Empire Strikes Back, but in the opposite direction. I rewatched it a few days ago and I found it extremely boring, much more than I remembered.

Lacrimosa by Immediate Music. Reason? If there was any natural disaster I couldn’t escape from, such as the crash of an asteroid, then I’d like to get on the roof of my house, listen to this song loudly and wait to die in an epic way.

I also like some ACDC songs, such as Highway to Hell and Rock n’ Roll Train. Reason? I just like them.

Another of my favourite song is Confortably Numb by Pink Floyd. The reason is that I listened to it a lot when I was a kid, because for some reason it was present in a lot of videos that had to do with UFOs and aliens, and since I used to watch a lot of these videos on YouTube as a kid, then I got attached to this song for that reason. It reminds me of my childhood. I know, it’s weird. XD

I know it’s a bit wonky but the sparing sequences in Episode 5 of OB1 seem like a better introduction to adolescent Anakin than the elevator scene in AOTC. This show might be lacking in some ways but it and The Mandaloran might serve as additional material for PT edits.

I think we could keep both scenes. The only thing we have to do is organizing the scenes this way:

  • Attempt on Padmé’s life
  • Obi-Wan and Anakin training duel
  • Padmé facing the Senate (deleted scene)
  • Padmé speaking with the Jedi and Palpatine
  • Elevator scene

I don’t understand why everyone says the age difference between Anakin and Padmé is weird. I mean, when they met in The Phantom Menace they were both minors, and when they met again in Attack of the Clones they were both adults, so I don’t understand what the problem is. Anakin and Padmé have an age difference of 5 years, while the age difference between Han and Leia is 10 years, yet I have never heard anyone complain about the age difference between Han and Leia. Not to mention that in The Phantom Menace Padmé wasn’t in love with Anakin, she only fell in love with him in Attack of the Clones, when they were both adults (Anakin was 20 years old). It was Anakin who was in love with Padmé since The Phantom Menace, not vice versa. So I really don’t understand what the problem is and why people complain.

It’s a known fact that I am a huge fan of the Prequel Trilogy and everything that’s set during the Prequel Era in general, however one thing I never liked about the Prequel Era is the lack of realism in the numbers of the Grand Army of the Republic. In fact, officially it is estimated that during the Clone Wars the total number of Clones in service was 3 million, which is absolutely ridiculous when we consider that we’re talking about a war on a galactic scale. So, I would suggest changing Lama Su’s sentence in Attack of the Clones about the number of Clones in the Army.
The original sentence is this:

“200,000 units are ready, and a million more is well on the way.”

I’d suggest changing the sentence to become like this:

“200 billion units are ready, and a billion more is well on the way.”

This way, the number of Clones serving during the Clone Wars and then serving under the Empire would become (at least) 300 billion, wich is much more realistic on a scale of galactic proportions.

What is your personal canon?

I’m new to the forum, so I’m not sure where my take falls, but outside a few wins I’m really not a fan of what Disney has done with Star Wars. I was always a big lover of the EU; so my personal canon is really just ‘Legends’ and as much of TCW as can be fit without contradiction the original Clone Wars media project I grew up with.

I totally agree with that. I don’t like at all what Disney has done so far too, except for Rogue One (though I still don’t consider it strictly Canon). I also agree about TCW. I much prefer the Clone Wars Multimedia Project over TCW too.

No I see a coincidence

Obviously I wasn’t serious when I said they had foreseen it, it was just a joke, kind of like saying that the Simpsons have foreseen the future. Anyway, I believe the song lyrics perfectly reflect what Vader thought every day after Revenge of the Sith, before the Dark Side completely consumed him, before A New Hope.

Guys, I don’t know if you realized it, but The Beatles predicted Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker in the 60s.
I mean…

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay,
Oh I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, I’m not half to man I used to be,
There’s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh yesterday came suddenly.
Why she had to go?
I don’t know she woldn’t say.
I said something wrong,
Now I long for yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play,
Now I need a place to hide away,
Oh I believe in yesterday.

Do you see what I see?

I know perhaps this isn’t the best forum to make such a proposal, as many of you are opposed to the inclusion of Prequel friendly scenes in the Original Trilogy. However, has anyone ever thought of including this scene in Return of the Jedi? I think it would be very nice to include it in the movie…

I don’t like the ages in canon at all. I put Anakin as a 10 year old in TPM, Padmé 14 and Obi-Wan 25.

I do the same thing. However, I like to keep the time gap between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones as officially established, and the same goes for the time gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. So, in Attack of the Clones Anakin is 20, Padmé is 24 and Obi-Wan is 35, while in Revenge of the Sith Anakin is 23, Padmé is 27 and Obi-Wan is 38. In addition, I also keep the original time gap between the rest of the films, so Luke, Han and Leia’s ages don’t change. By the way, the official gap between Hope and Empire is 3 years, so your change isn’t a real change.

Time passes differently in Dagobah, but not because of any sci-fi reason, but because of the Force. Han and Leia’s adventure in Empire lasts for a couple weeks, while Luke spends months in Dagobah.

I like this a lot, too.

The Star Wars Fan Edits Request Thread: Request the links to Star Wars fan edits here

I would like to know if there is a fan edit of The Phantom Menace that keeps the film exactly as it is, but at the same time thins Jar Jar’s humor, eliminating some of his over-the-top reactions and making the character more similar to how he was portrayed in TCW. In general, I don’t hate Jar Jar at all, I just think some of his humor need to be thin a bit, but in general the character doesn’t bother me. So I’d like to know if there are any edits of The Phantom Menace that do this.

Jar Jar is a dark side user, although he isn’t a Sith. He was banished from his tribe for discovering ancient Sith texts hidden in Naboo’s Sacred Place, and he used the knowledge contained in those texts to obtain vast dark side power. His signature technique was a subtle form of mind control, manifesting through apparent coincidence. When the Queen’s ship made it to Coruscant, Palpatine sensed Jar Jar’s power, and formed an alliance with him. Jar Jar would mind control the Senate into giving Palpatine absolute power, and in return Palpatine would have Jar Jar be one of his top advisors. However, this deal was a ruse, and Palpatine killed Jar Jar soon after the rise of the Empire.

I like more the “Jar Jar is just an idiot” version. I mean, I like him precisely for this reason hahaha 😄

I need help for my AOTC fan edit

I can’t wait to see it! ❤️
I would have liked to keep Shmi’s funeral and Yoda and Mace’s reaction to Anakin’s pain as in the original cut, but if it was impossible to keep them without creating bad video and audio transitions, then it doesn’t matter, I can do without them, although I think it’s a shame. Again, I thank you so much for doing this!

The fireside scene keeps a few more lines than what you suggested, though still removes mention of the kiss, because otherwise there’d be an unavoidable ugly audio transition with the music.

You did well to remove all the references to the Naboo kiss from that scene, because if you had kept them then it wouldn’t have made any sense. I mean, if the kiss on Geonosis is their first kiss, then any reference to the kiss on Naboo MUST be automatically deleted. So you did very well to remove those references from that scene.

Deepfake Ideas - Index and Discussion

I don’t know if this is off topic, but I think it would be great if in the future the technology evolved to such an extent that we could create an alternative TROS ending in which Anakin’s Force ghost defeats Palpatine instead of Rey. Many people have already attempted this, but obviously the result isn’t believable at all, so I look forward to technology to evolve, allowing us to create such an ending. I would love it.

Your ideal Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Time

One idea (I’m not sure if this is what you were thinking) would be to make the Knights of Ren similar to the Imperial Knights from the Legacy Era: Force users who reject the Dark Side, but serve an authoritarian regime, perhaps out of some sense of a “greater good.” That way, the story won’t require bringing the Dark Side back after RotJ, but will portray a whole new, different corruption of the Jedi ideology that has to be defeated. I wouldn’t have them massacre Luke’s Jedi Order, but I would have them convert most of Luke’s students away from his teachings, leaving Luke disheartened but not totally broken.

I love this idea. It allows us to revive the conflict between Empire and Republic, but in a more refreshing and innovative way. I have a few ideas based on this.

This version of the Trilogy begin with the conquest of Coruscant by the New Empire and the fall of the New Republic, with the Imperial Knights settling in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. They convert most of the Jedi to their cause and exile those who don’t want to follow their ideology. So, Luke and a small group of exiled Jedi move to Tython along with the leaders of the New Republic Who were exiled by the New Empire. After that, they all start a resistance to defeat the New Empire and restore the Jedi Order and the New Republic. However, unlike the Sequel Trilogy we got, in this Trilogy Luke’s Jedi Order would be similar to its Legends version, so now the Jedi allow marriage and attachment. And Han and Leia have only one son, that is, Anakin Solo, who joined the Imperial Knights and that at the end of the trilogy returns to be a Jedi.

Furthermore, it would be very interesting if the figure of Anakin Skywalker had a central role within such a Sequel Trilogy. I mean, Luke was the one who redeemed him and made him fulfill the Prophecy, so it would be nice if Luke was constantly trying to remind everyone of the good side of his father. It would be nice if Luke discovered all the good deeds Anakin did before he became Darth Vader, and if he tried to teach the Jedi to respect the figure of Anakin Skywalker, as the Chosen One and as the Clone Wars hero he was, instead of constantly continuing to condemn what he did when he was Darth Vader.
