Warning shot? WARNING SHOT?!? Bwa-hahahahaha!

Nobody who intends to wait for a warning shot bothers to stealthily unholster their pistol underneath the table. Also, a gun pointed at your chest across said table is warning aplenty. And remember, warning shots are a tool of people who have no desire to shoot the person they've drawn on but may be required to do so if the target continues to act threateningly. Greedo stopped Solo on the way out of the bar and forced him back to the table. He had the upper hand, but wasn't smart enough to ensure he kept it by either disarming Han or forcing him to keep his hands atop the table.

Holy crap, if you weren't so frickin' pathetic you'd be hilarious.

King Kong Criterion - new project, anyone interested? (unfinished - official product released)
Time
Me too, even if only for the commentary. I'll soon be doing a transfer of the 1991 Turner/RKO LD set of King Kong and Son of Kong and would love to be able to include the commentary from the Criterion disc. The project was planned before my longtime partner in copyright infringement knew of the new DVD and before Son of Kong was announced, but I'm gonna carry through with it at least for learning and practice's sake.

Robert Wise R.I.P.
Time
Going even further off-topic, the Clemens situation reminds me of when the mother of Formula One drivers Michael and Ralf Schumacher died the night before the 2003 San Marino Grand Prix. Michael won (until then he hadn't done better than 4th that year) and Ralf came in 4th.

Robert Wise had a career that was much more varied than many directors. He was talented and fortunate enough to make genre-defining movies in several fields, and even though he hadn't done anything in recent years his impact on the world of film was a great one. He will be missed.
