Top 5 Moments in the Original Trilogy
Time
In no particular order...

1. Near the end of the Battle of Hoth, an AT-AT pauses, pivots to the left and almost casually shoots a snowspeeder down. I just love the animation of the walker in that shot.
2. Luke's charge on the retreating Vader late in their fight in RotJ. The wide tracking shot, the choir and musical use of the lightsabers is amazing. Which brings us to...
3. Parallels between the duels in TESB and RotJ. In each, the fighters start out calm, but calculating and looking for an advantage. Then one of them just gets pissed off and starts swinging wildly until the other fellow is backed against the wall and drops his weapon with finality.
4. The asteroid chase. Potatoes, tumbling bodies and more evidence that TIE pilot training doesn't include a warning against flying in tight formation through narrow enclosed spaces.
5. On Endor, when Leia gets shot and felt up in the space of three seconds.

***The ADigitalMan non-Star Wars DVD Info and Feedback Thread***
Time
Doctor M, the IMAX release of Aladdin was cancelled, but it had nothing to do with the video release schedule. Simply put, not enough people were going to the IMAX shows to make the whole thing profitable, so Disney pulled the plug. It's a pity, because Fantasia 2000 and The Lion King both looked awesome in IMAX (and they were consistently sold out), and the wife and I were both looking forward to big-ass Aladdin.

Desperate Housewives
Time
I got you beat in the cheapskate category. Some copies of Lost at Best Buy had a bonus disc, whose sleeve had a $10 off coupon for Desperate Housewives. Knock that off the $37.99 (they don't take it off the $34.99 price for RewardZone members, bastards) and, well, you can subtract, can't you? Then DH includes a rebate form for another $10 off if you get Lost and DH.

If your copy doesn't have the rebate form or booklet, you're not alone. A LOT of people are finding them missing, but if you call up Buena Vista Video customer service they'll make it right. Disney's rebates lately kinda kick ass, BTW. We picked up The Muppet Show season 1 (cause it's awesome) and the Muppets Wizard of Oz (for when the nieces don't feel like cartoons, and the sheer inanity of Quentin Tarantino in a Muppet movie), and between in-store and mail-in discounts we wound up making $4.

Segaflip's 'Night of the Living Dead' - 25th Anniversary Transfer (Released)
Time
IIRC, the Millennium Edition DVD was a re-issue of the Elite disc with a few added minor features. The Elite DVD was ported over from their 25th anniversary LD. There doesn't seem to be anything on the LD that isn't on those DVDs, except (I presume) the gag at the beginning of side 1. Before Elite did their restoration and new transfer, all video incarnations (and most film prints) of NOTLD looked and sounded like pan-fried poop. To have a little fun and show off a bit, they started the LD with a nasty transfer. A few seconds into it, the movie stopped and an explosion cleared the screen, revealing the THX Laser Disc logo. The movie restarted, and the beauty of the new transfer was finally revealed.

LOST
Time
Well, HotRod, season 2 starts up this Wednesday night. Look around and you should be able to find several torrents up later in the week. I'd offer to help out but other people are better equipped than I, with HDTV tuning and capturing gear.

I'd love it if ABC had the guts to run the show letterboxed to 16x9 even in SD. If Conan O'Brien can go out widescreen, why not Lost?
