Well someone's done this for a morph - but it's obviously a rough edit, like a quick and simple dissolve without any fx -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNCHbuhFoIY&eurl

Though I like ur idea better :)

Just thought you'd like to know...that someone is me

It's actually the kind of thing I had in mind - the whole Hayden-Shaw morph and vice versa. Very good video btw, it's just that I found the Shaw pic with longer hair and the scar more appealing since it shows that Anakin is older, but could still be an older version of the guy we saw in the prequels. I gave you 5/5 on that video. :)

I have another suggestion - maybe we should have either a rebel x-wing explode with the pilots body floating off into space (ala TESB and ROTS) or even a TIE Pilot. It'd add to the excitement of the end space battle.

Hey guys, since ppl hated the hayden insert into ROTJ i thought what could i do to try and bring hayden to sebastian shaw. So after a couple of quick ideas i thought this is the most simple. I have made the hair slightly longer but not as long as hayden's. So half way between old anakin and new. Added scar the the left eye too, not too noticable but not distracting either lol. Hope u guys enjoy!

Cant help but see the Doc Brown when i look at sebastian shaw lmao. No! Marty! Gotta go to light speedlight but we need a current of 10 gigawatts!!!

I think this is a VERY good idea. It immediately makes him more recognisable as the guy in the prequels, rather than a whole different person.

Also, WHAT THE HELL IS A GIGAWATT?! :P

I like that concept :) He needed longer hair and that's perfect tbh

1.21 GIGAWATTS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGlrobvb-ao

gah! i stand corrected!:P the grey background does look alot better and sharper!:)

would it be appropriate to see endor from the emperors throne room? perhaps it could be hinted that the DSII rotates slightly, so endor moves abut the window.

The grey bg is awesome - a natural part of the whole colour correction :)

It would make sense for some of Endor to appear because the DSII is orbiting the it (wait - it's a moon of Endor right? I keep getting it muddled up because Palpatine says 'Sanctuary Moon')

PS: even before the Prequels, I always wished they had Chris Lee in JEDI as a imperial general plotting to take out the Emperor ala the Valkerie plot. Maybe it would have been too much to add to what was already there, but if there was one STAR WARS movie that damn near needed to be LORD OF THE RINGS EXTENDED VERSION long, it was JEDI.

Lol, that's a pretty cool notion. And yeah I see your point with the last bit; Jedi needs a slight overhaul in some respects - it'll only make it a much stronger conclusion.

Speaking of conclusions, I still think that some form of Hayden Christensen should be included at the end. Someone mentioned morphing Christensen and Sebastian Shaw together (when we see the Force Ghost of Anakin at the end). And I think that would be perfect.

I will dude. I need to brainstorm some new stuff. I absolutely love your photoshop mock-ups on the first few pages - of the battle being closer to the throne room (ala Revenge of the Sith) :)

When the time comes for the production of ROTJ:R we're all gonna say that your idea definitely needs to be in the final version.

Holy (beep)! That's amazing! I really wanted the end Endor space battle to look like the one at the start of 'Sith' (though much better), it seems that we're all like-minded and any ideas that I put down in a years time will have already been thought up of, lol.

Just a reminder. I only have 53 names!

How does this compare with ANH:R?

OK, compared to ANH:R's few names, its a huge number, but I figured since more people know about this project it would be a bit more popular. I don't even have a few of the regular posters.

Even you, Sluggo! (I do know your name, I just didn't want to be presumptuous if you didn't want it in there.)

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
adywan said:Ok heres the correct fix (only slightly different way of going round it). ONLY NEEDED FOR THE TORRENT DOWLOAD:

first make sure you have added the NTSC fix files from the DVD-ROM folder into your VIDEO_TS folder then download this file:
EXTRA PAR2 FILE
once downloaded unpack the rar file and put the file it contains into the VIDEO_TS folder .

now right click on the par2 file in the VIDEO_TS folder and select "open with.." and select "quickpar" (you may have to browse if it isn't in the list". let it scan all the files and say "ready to repair using...." . Click on "Repair" and sit back. the repair will take a while depending on your setup. Once its has finished repairing then close the program and make sure you take any par2 files out of the VIDEO_TS folder but DON'T put them in your DVD folder. place them elsewhere on your PC. Also make sure you delete any files that have a .1 extension in the VIDEO_TS folder too.

Now you need Pcgedit. install pcgedit if you haven't already got it. open it and select "file> open DVD" and select the VIDEO_TS folder that you have added the fix to. now pgcedit will start scanning the disc and a new box pops up. don't do anything until you see the "close" button that will appear when the scan is done.
Once this is done goto "file>BURN DVD/ CREATE ISO" and select that. A new box will pop up saying "DVD saved ok". Click ok.
Now in the next box that appears make sure DL media type is selected as "Double layer DVD+R". Goto "output ISO" and select where you want the ISO file to be stored ready for burning later. Just name the "volume label" star wars 4" or anything you want.
once you have done this click "ok"
Another small box will pop up telling you there are other folder and if you want to burn them. Just click "yes"
Next another box will appear. This is the layer break box. In the top section of the box "cell 28" should be highlighted blue. If one of the others is highlighted just click on the line containing "cell 28" then click "OK"

Your new ISO will be created

You can then burn the ISO image file with Imgburn (best one to use for windows users and it is included in the DVD-ROM folder. Not sure if there is a mac version or the version in the folder works an MAC) or nero or similar

if you use imgburn make sure that when the layer break box pops up when you go to burn the disc you highlight the layer break and make sure that "don't update IFO's" (it says something like that but can't remember) box is ticked and burn

ALL should be fine now and i updated the last fix post in case it caused any confusion. If you get any errors while creating the ISO with pgcedit then you ahve done something wrong in the first steps.

Damn, I've been looking for this info for quite a while now. I'm such an idiot, I should have realised that I could search for key-words in the search tab, lol. Thanks a lot for this Ady. I'm currently burning the disc (14% so far) on imgburn with my DL DVD+R Disc. Hopefully it should come out fine in about 40 mins (at a 2.4x speed btw, like you said in that PM to me) :)

Then I'm gonna have a Star Wars OT Marathon with some friends this weekend, which will be slightly different to the one we had with the xvid version standing in for a proper DVD.

Edit - WOW! Great stuff Ady. I love all the DVD Menus, the only gripe I have is that I can't quickly chapter skip from the opening menu to the main menu, and do the same with all the other menus. But that doesn't really matter, the whole presentation is top-notch. Best of all is that I tested this on my Sony DVD Theatre System and when I stopped the film there was a sweet background (The 1977 Star Wars poster). Awesome touch there :)

Now I have a perfect DVD to take to my friends' so we can have a proper OT marathon. Thanks for all your hard work Ady.

for the cloaking device debate, the sith infiltrator, maul's ship, was a craft developed by the sith and since it was created by the sith, it has a cloaking device. the sith aren't retards and they needed to keep a low profile. i'm sure someone would've noticed a sith infilitrator taking off out of couruscant traffic. its a bit noticeable.

and ady, no offense to u, but u can't take everyline in a movie, in this case ESB, seriously.

Isn't the whole "Sith infiltrator having a cloak" having a cloak an EU thing anyway? because it certainly isn't in TPM. If the sith created cloaking devises for their ships then why the hell when a sith is ruling the galaxy doesn't any of their ships have a cloak? Another useless EU addition. The amount of ships flying around Coruscant, with many different types coming and going, do you really think one little ship would stick out? no.

And it has nothing to do with taking every line in ESB seriously at all. It has to do with continuity. The EU and especially the PT for that matter, should have taken what was said in the OT seriously then we wouldn't have the amount of fuck ups between the 2 trilogies and having the EU trying to explain it all.

You're absolutely right. :)

Btw Ady, my Torrent for ANH:R has finished downloading and all I have to do now is get that Verbatim dual-layer writable DVD and start burning the ISO.

I'm gonna use imgburn so should I select the one that says 'write image to disc' or 'write files to disc'. Thanks.

"write image" as long as the torrent isn't an unpacked one. It should be an ISO file

Thanks, it's just that I'm not quite sure what to do with the 'fixed' files labelled VIDEO_TS_files_fixed (rar - 128KB). And whether that should be burned on the disc too.

This seems like something Ady would have already caught (IF he considered it a continuity error)... but I did not see it listed anywhere as a fix, so...

... I took it upon myself to do a mockup:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4_tZ6Yd9fs

Even in 1997, the SE shot bothered me, not because it was poorly done, but because it seems to break continuity! In one shot, the Falcon and Slave 1 pull out of the garbage trail... only to wind up back in it again!

Deja vu? Groundhog day? Hmm...

i haven't listed it as a fix because the scene is being changed

Well that's a reply I wasn't expecting! Very interesting....

Sounds cool on Ady's part :)

Nice mock-up btw Oh-riginal :)

An easy way to fix it would be to have the engines glow a bit earlier.

Like this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nECokbNJCkM

Personally, I prefer my other mockup video... where the Falcon continues to float instead. The Falcon doesn't sit idle long enough, so it kinda looks weird to me when the engine turns on and it sits two seconds then flies off.

So, if I had to pick, this would be the fix I would go with:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc-2v7KIQ5s

But hey, both are there to compare now, so you can all decide for yourselves...

Yeah the 2nd video is really good. In the edit I like how the Falcon doesn't look like it's 'stalled' in space, lol.

Oh and R.I.P Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.

There is; emotional distress. You just can't see it. Haha. ;)

Yeah, Corrileans are made of tough stuff :)

Han is a guy who feels pain more from the inside - and some people on here may hate me for bringing up an EU anecdote, but when Han was mad at his son Jacen, he was just kind of bitter afterwards - ok, it's not the best of analogies because that wasn't physical torture, but it's an analogy nevertheless because he was in emotional distress from it anyway.

The music adds to the scene doesn't it?

Who gives a damn for Megan Who...

And i prefer dark knight as it has. the music makes it busy in that scene. dont try to improve the perfect!

Ok back to ESB.

After we have see Ady take care some poor cloud shots i was wondering if in some parts in the sunset cloud chase (MF and TIES) can do some overlaps and some cloud passing from both type of crafts to be more impressive and decent.

I mention before that when falcon do the flip to return to luke is should goes through a cloud because that way is not looking small flat.

-Angel

Yep, I love that scene in TDK as it is, though it was interesting to see how that person edited it. The sound fx was what made the scene great and the use of shots - because it was one of the IMAX sequences :)

- Anyway, nice suggestion about the clouds. I thought they were decent looking, but do need a little bit more work and a decent cross cut to Luke as well, if that's what you meant.

I am probably goint to see transformers soon. My sister said she would give blood just to see it so most likely. The theatre here is expensive though. But my theatre uses DLP projectors so I can see it in the best quality a theatre allows. I watched Iron Man and it looked great. not the best movie but it looked amazing.

Revenge of the Sith looked awesome in Digital Projection :)

I hope that the 3-D versions of the saga come out some time. It'd really be awesome if Ady's work was projected with some 3-D effects, but that may be wishful thinking.
