So you got yourself a CDI...what are you going to do with it?
So you got yourself a CDI...what are you going to do with it?
I skimmed through this, and I think this is a pretty decent edit preservation!
I'm having one problem so far. For some reason a few seconds of nothingness is present in the beginning of the file. This doesn't affect audio sync, but it does seem to be problematic for chapter sync. What gives?

Hell must be freezing over, as I have found myself in agreement with many of impscum's posts lately.
Sorry Frink, it already happened last year
...what that says about imperialscum depends on what you think of him...
Can this version sync with GOUT audio tracks, or no?

Also Danfun128 no need to do this :p so many times. We get it.
Sorry, bad habit. :p *shot*

You're a SE fan who wants more work done to the film's. Everyone's entitled to their opinion.
I said I like some of the SE changes. I never said I supported Greedo Shooting First, or Jedi Rocks, or Hayden Christenson as Anakin's Force Ghost, or Vaders arrival to the Executor in ESB...
I admit that I am a fan of semi-specialized edits. That being said, I have never supported how Lucas ignored the OUT. The fact that the OUT has the potential to go 4k or higher if the negatives could be found without SE elements doesn't help matters. (The 97se is a mixture of original footage and 2k edits. The 2004se was made by scanning the 97se film. This means that some scenes have been edited by a computer twice. Hence one of the reasons I think an official SE and Semi-Specialized SE should be built from the ground up.)
I wouldn't be surprised if there are other members of the forums that care about the SE more than I do. Like you said, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

If I had to pick I'd want a remastered OOT and a remastered '97 SE. Then again you get the fans who go 'I like the '04/'11 version!' or 'I wanted a new SE version that fixed stuff that was messed up before'.
I think I said many times on this forum that I am of the 'I wanted a new SE version that fixed stuff that was messed up before' type :P.
We should have 3 released, the OUT, the Lucas Cut, and a Semi-Specialized cut. The ladder two would have updated CGI to make sure every thing blends in properly. The last one would have Han shooting first, no Jabba scene...perhaps similar to the Darth Editous cut or some of the HD semi-specialized cuts released.
Why updated CGI? Let me give an example When I see how bad the CGI is in the Mos Eisley landspeeder scenes, I cringe a little, but at the same time it's important to me. I remember the Mos Eisley map in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and climbing up that crashed ship with a jetpack. Little details like this are nostalgic to me...
I still think the next release should have OUT, Lucas Cut, and Semi-Specialized cut :P
edit: Of course, all three of these cuts should be the highest resolution possible, which means abandoning the 1080p 2004/2011 transfer, and possibly even the 2k 97se base...
Still, reconstructing the OUT and then building two new SE's over that...how much money would that be? :P
...as for TPM, that film might also have to be rebuilt from the ground up for high resolution-ness. AOTC and ROTS are lost causes since they were "filmed" at 1080p to begin with.

I thought this was interesting.
When you hear a song one way, to hear it so oddly is...odd
Why do I have a feeling that the file was produced by taking the standard imperial march from wherever and changing the pitch via Audacity or a similar program?
For some reason I was half expecting you to say to yourself...
"He asked a question. Most of the questions I read from this thread for a few days now are about download pms. I think I'll send him another one..."
and then you post...
"PM Sent"
xD
The 2011 SE's are more like 2.5. The 97 is 1.0 and the 2004 is 2.0. The 2011 SE doesn't have enough changes or improvements (like a new scan for starters) to qualify as 3.0.
Can you make "PM sent" your signature?
LOL.
You got me. You got me :P

God's honest truth, this is probably the skeeziest preservation I've ever heard of.
I think I have an idea that could 1-up that, though I will *not* be the one to implement it. It might not seem as vulgar, but I think it's more likely to influence kids...
The Film: Sonic the Hedgehog The Movie
The Scene: In the original Japanese VHS of the Sonic OVA, Sonic flips the bird at Metal Robotnik. In every release of the film made afterwards, even the so-called uncut releases (in some english releases, certain scenes are removed, like Sara imagining that she is married to Robotnik and breastfeeding one of their kids, Tails accidentally groping Sara's boob, etc. Other english releases have these scenes intact using the same english dub.) Sonic's hand has been reanimated to look like he is giving the pointer finger.
All you would need is that original japanese vhs and either a us or jp "uncut" dvd, cover Sonic's hand from one of the ladder resources with the former, and watch in horror as your kids learn an obscene gesture for the first time.
Kids might not get the boob joke, but they might flip people off...

This is one of the most disco things I have ever seen. Heard Mecco's track before, but that video... It's something else. I like that both Vader and 3po can fly. And there are more than two of them.
Nute Gunray will be shocked and dismayed to hear this.
I'd make a joke about Nute Gunray and multiples, but that would require working spoiler tags... [hint]Darths and Droids[/hint]

But this time in SPACE!

TO BE CONTINUED
I've heard at least part of that disco remix several times several years ago, but I've never seen that video before in my life, until today of course :P . The simplified C-3P0 and Darth Vader costumes...they almost seemed like the costumes that would have been used if Star Wars was a tokusatsu production...
...that reminds me. Someone should make either a toku or anime(esque) adaption of the namco star wars famicom (japanese nes) game, with Luke flying the Millenium Falcon in search of certain members of the rebel alliance and fighting off dozens of Darth Vader doppelgangers that turn into monsters with his lightsaber. Of course, since the famicom version of TESB is the same as the US version but in japanese, it needs not be adapted. Think of the possibilities though...
The first few seconds are completely different (starts with old pixar logo, then goes into knick knack opening credits. The new version starts with the "...before toy story..." note, than a short version of the current pixar logo with accompanying noise, then goes into knick knack opening credits ), and the ending credits had mild changes (2003 copyright, reference to rerendering...) Other than that and everything else mentioned (boobs and colors), nothing changed.
Aren't those things also in the 95 laserdiscs?
If you want a trip down Mario memory lane, I suggest Super Mario Bros 3Mix. It feels like a well written love letter to so many parts of the Mario franchise...you'd be surprised at what was added ;)

Your opinion is irrelevant in this matter because boobs.
...and that makes part of the top ten of best Frink quotes...xD
If I was a crude and vulgar person, that would probably be my signature :P .
Question, why do you still watch the 95 vhs if the gout uses the same transfer? Unless, of course, you like the pan and scan effect...
In theory, a new transfer of the 97se would look better in HD than the current 04/11 transfer, mainly because the 97se is in 2k and has the potential to look decent. The 04/11 transfer uses an outdated-in-its-day 8-bit 1080p transfer. I still think that they should completely redo the cgi for any new special editions if they want 4k or higher though :P.

It won't be released until the Bunny makes another appearance next to the Burj Khalifa.
Spaced Ranger, I'm not sure if I support your little...lhgsdahjeowp, but you forgot to mention the mermaid's boobs.
...that might have been the most vulgar thing I will ever post, ever.
