The problem is that the direction Jabba and Leia are facing changes, and their location seems to change from the front of the sail barge to the back of the sail barge. It just doesn’t work.

It’s more jarring than the original, without a doubt. Although, I do like that Mark Hamill’s face is flipped back to normal now. I think that’s the main giveaway.IMHO that looks incredibly promising. I never realized how incredibly off putting it was to see Mark Hamill’s face flipped like that. As someone else said, it really bothered me on a gut-level and I didn’t realize why.
Yes, Mark’s off-putting asymmetrical mirrored face is the only reason I’d want them flipped. Then there’s the direction of Leia’s chain not really matching between shots, and the 180 degree rule stuff that was mentioned before. It’s a trade-off, I guess.

My suggestion for ROTJ:R has to do with this funnily enough.
I came across a track that I thought that might work as a replacement. I do not mind Lapti nek but It is an idea to cut the puppet singer and just have the blue elephant on keys. Anyway listen to the track.

Although, killing off Tarkin in a narration would feel like a cop-out. I might wanna have Tarkin killed in this attack, because him not being in Chapters 2-4 is a little problematic, but maybe I can just pepper Tarkin scenes in 2 & 4.
If you want to keep Tarkin alive, perhaps you could use shots from Rogue One of Tarkin watching the completion of the Death Star. Maybe the laser canon was blown up in the first attack and they needed a new one. But if you went down that route I’d just stick to the window reflection of Tarkin, no in-your-face CG. You could even cut Tarkin from those shots and still use them. Just an idea.

- In the AOTC text, ‘including’ is misspelled as 'incluing’
And it looks like there’s an extra space between ‘meant to be’ and ‘seen’- ROTS text should probably say ‘CLONE WARS’ instead of ‘CLONE WAR’ (not sure)

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned before, but now some scumbag made a crappy website dedicated to selling Blu-ray sets using the work of Harmy, njvc, phildesfr (and countless others). Every once in awhile, I’ll check Youtube to see what the next neckbearded asshat with a camcorder has to say about his new ripoff Blu-ray set. Sometimes I call them out in the comments. Some are misinformed, thinking that the only way to get them is through Ebay or some loser’s website. Others are just lazy and/or stupid. But anyways, I saw comments from this dude - either promoting his website, or thanking the uploader for buying from his site. It’s just really sad. Maybe someone could try to contact his hosting service? I’m not sure if that would do more harm than good.
I’ve been planning out my own edit of ROTJ for a long time, I’ll be renaming it to Episode III, or just ditching the “Episode” part entirely, because the prequels don’t exist in my mind. I’ve also been thinking about just replacing the STAR WARS logo with the RETURN OF THE JEDI logo and deleting the title portion of the crawl. (I’d do that for ESB as well) I’ve seen mockups of that here in the past, and I looks pretty sweet.
Anyways, as far as the Force Awakens, the bits of Palpatine dialouge don’t bother me that much, but I guess losing them would be preferred. Maz’ reference to the Sith is fine. The word “Sith” was even in deleted clips of the conference room scene in Star Wars.

Hello guys¡ I recently watched ROTJ SemiEspecialized v2.15 and i noticed there are some “squares” around the ships in some space scenes that, for example, were not present when i saw Despecialized or the Special Edition. Do you know if it´s an error or is of the own film? and why is not in the other versions?
Those would be matte boxes.
Absolutely fantastic as usual. I’m really looking forward to Despecialized 3.0 (since this will be its main source), but I’m also really interested to see how the SE looks without the awful colors. Keep up the great work.

I can understand their sentiment. After all, with Mike Verta’s project completed the original Star Wars has been well restored, and the original elements to the other two are in far better shape. The OOT will eventually be released, if not by Disney then by obsessive fans. If Disney wants to completely update the SE for a new generation, that would be par for the course with what we’ve gotten previously and continue the tradition of trying to keep these films relevant to the masses. It’s actually a fascinating experiment which has been going on since '77, and a part of me is saddened that Disney won’t continue that. I suspect that if there weren’t constant revisions, The OT would be increasingly be seen as a cultural artifact today, rather than a part of an ongoing story. The only reason I’m against the SE is that the OOT isn’t officially available.
Right, I agree. I think the SE has it’s place for people who like that sort of thing. I just get annoyed with users who call you a loser fanboy and downvote you into oblivion for liking the originals, because the Special Editions are OBVIOUSLY superior.

Sadly no. Hopefully it will be uploaded in the future. There was a clip shown where Gold Leader drops an f-bomb, I’m guessing it will be bleeped out, or they’ll decide not to upload it for that reason. Which would suck.
I don’t know if this han been discussed already, but I thought this was interesting. A host of the Star Wars Show, Anthony Carboni, said this on the latest episode:
"Any real juicy Star Wars related news for the next few weeks is probably being saved for the event itself, gigantic wink."
This leads me to believe that he might know what the “juicy news” is. If Lucasfilm/Disney are making a big suprise announcement about the theatrical trilogy, I doubt this guy would already know about it. Or maybe he does somehow, I don’t know. I’m just reading into things too much.
