Happy to hear all is well!
I’ve got a feeling this one’s AI-generated. It’s getting too hard to tell…
The shot looks great, Ady! 👍
In short, they had a hanger in 1976, they had stormtroopers, they could have done this if that was the plan.
Exactly. The idea that it was shot like this because of technical limitations is bogus. George wrote in the script that Han chases the stormtroopers to a dead end, and that’s what was shot.
Hey all,
So obviously this project was originally created 18 years ago. This has been my go-to for watching my favorite Christmas movie of all-time, however technology and our available sources have come a long way since this restoration was made. In 2018, we finally got a the film, in full on 1080p Blu Ray. This included, for the first time in its original 4:3, the entire cut of the movie, including all extended sequences. However, this version is sadly still missing the Kermit narrations throughout the film needed to make the film complete. This new release, while not incredible looking, provides a lot of new detail in the image quality, but the colors are severely lacking when placed side-by-side with the Philfrog edition. Given my love for this movie, and the fact that its the holiday season, I’ve decided to start working on an updated version of Philfrog’s 30th Anniversary Edition. For this “47th Anniversary Edition,” I will be using Dr. Dre’s Color Matching tool to regrade the film to match Philfrog’s, as well as attempt to remix the audio using a higher quality Betamax source for the 80’s cut and the lossless audio track from the Bluray.
Best of luck on the project! I’m glad someone is tackling this.
The new master indeed has more detail, but some shots look a bit oversharpened. This may seem counter-intuitive, but applying a slight blur to some of the worst offenders may help counteract that? Just an idea. The only other issue is that for some reason they’ve cut the framerate down to 24fps, but not much we can do about that.
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out 😃
I would also love to have the link if someone could share it, thanks!

Would someone please send me a link? Thanks!

Hello DMC and Happy new year! I know I am late on this (used a kind of uncut version of Emmet from YouTube with low quality this year). Can you please send me a link to your neat version?
Thank you so much in advance!!!
Happy New Year! PM sent. It’s not my version but I’ve been to happy to keep it alive for others to enjoy! 😃
Hi, would it be possible to get the link from you DMC?

Hey DMC, any chance you could send a link to this as well? This is my family’s favorite Christmas movie and we CELEBRATE it yearly – … I would love this edit.

This was a hit last weekend! Thanks a ton, DMC!
You’re very welcome!

Could I please get the link to this edit? I have an original DVD, but not this particular edit. Thanks in advance.
Hi DMC: If possible, I would also love a copy of this for my Christmas party. Thank you so much!

I was getting ready to share this with family and noticed the MySpleen Exclusive version.
Is that version official from PhilFrog or some third party mod of it?
Hash checking it against my older disc, none of the files match, not even the .jpg of the cover art.
I believe it’s a third party mod. But I compared it to the original version I have and everything matched for me, weird.
I recently acquired a copy of The Sounds of Star Wars book, but I can’t get the audio player to work for the life of me. I’m interested in getting a hold of those 256 sounds in particular. This thread is the closest I’ve been able to get to finding them anywhere online.
Even if Brash’s full archive isn’t available anymore (or ever?), does someone at least have a lead on the SoSW sounds?
Thanks in advance.

Nice work! I really like the added dust at the end, little things like that really help to sell the shot better than the original does.
Can this make color falloff with the lightsabers work on all scenes of the original 6 films? https://youtu.be/CYN2alBR3P8
Messed around with a real quick and dirty test of this the other day actually. It actually looks reasonably fine!

Wow, very promising!
Thanks Harmy,
This shot at 2:04:00 has a very different grade compared to theatrical. Is this a 19SE change?
Bravo!!! 👏👏👏
