Simple, cut the reveal from the original film, delaying the reveal to when Rey senses that heās alive on the destroyer.

This is NOT intended to represent a reservation I have about using the Falcon ending shot. This is such a nerdy thing to say that it would have rightfully been shouted down by people if this had been in the movie.

The Falcon leaping right into hyperspace within a few seconds of taking off makes Hanās efforts to escape from Mos Eisley in ANH seem overly cautionary. (Doesnāt seem like entering hyperspace from within an atmosphere or planetās gravity would normally be a good idea.)
BUT, itās a perfect visual ending for the story. Just felt obliged to throw a neckbeard comment in for devilās advocacy.
Might I draw eveyoneās attention to the moment in TROS immediately after the āYou are a Palpatineā revealā¦ Finn grabs Rey after she jumps out of the docking bay and, guess what? Poe jumps to lightspeed within Kijimiās atmosphere!!! š
I donāt know how unpopular this is since Iāve never spoken about it to anyone else, but I love the final episode of Seinfeld. (I say this because Iāve heard some people donāt like it)

Here are the scenes or pieces that would be affected, unless I miss any:
- Rey and Palpatine meeting (should be easy to handle through just deleting lines)
I will always have a certain fondness of the line:
āLong have I waited, for my grandchild to come home!ā
Solely because when I watched it in the cinema an elderly woman started bursting with laughter. š
Itās not her identity thatās the issue, itās her own acceptance of that identity. Earlier in the film, thereās a scene where an alien child asks her what her family name is and she says her name is ājust Reyā in a sort of sheepish, slightly forlorn tone. At the end of the last film, she came to the realization that sheās a ānobody from nowhereā but we can see in this scene that sheās still not quite comfortable with that newfound knowledge. Itās still a point of embrassment rather than pride. By taking it as a badge of honor at the end of the movie, sheās fully actualized and completed her arc, whereas taking the Skywalker name feels to me like itās a step backward. Itās her clinging to an idealized version of the Skywalker legend as she did in the first half of the Last Jedi. She needs to be comfortable being āJust Reyā before she can be āRey Skywalkerā.
These are all just my opinions of course, but I cared a lot about this character and was disappointed with the direction they took in tieing her identity to other people, whether itās the Skywalkers or the Palpatines. As we see in the prequels, the Skywalkers and the Jedi as a whole have a complicated, messy legacy and while Rey learned from and was inspired by them, she could have also been the start of something new.

The one thing I like about the idea is that it works very well as a shocking reveal for Kylo Ren to give in the docking bay, I think krausfadr did a good job with altering Kylo Renās lines in the clip for that scene.
However, I agree with basically every other concern mentioned by others about implementing this idea into the filmā¦ š

This is looking great. I actually think there isnāt enough engine glow in snookerās. If anything Iād push the engine glow even more so that one doesnāt immediately notice any inadequacies with the model.

While I do agree with you that it is worth discussing, I donāt see any indication that Hal is ālooking into itā at this point in time. But seeing that this is Domās thread, it really depends on whether or not he sees any merit in the ideaā¦

Hereās a new pass! I downloaded a new 3D model of the falcon and brought it into cinema4D and recreated the flight path. After chatting with snooker, it turns out itās the same model heās using. I think his engines look better, though! So weāll see what options we come up with!

Hal, youāll be happy to know that after seeing some of the Kylo Ren audio work DominicCobb was doing on his edit, I began warming up to the idea that perhaps a Rey nobody cut is possible to achieve!
In saying this, I was wondering what might be the complete list of lines, scenes, references, effects etcā¦ That might need to be cut or altered in order to facilitate a Rey nobody edit?
I just realized that when Han rescues Luke during the trench run scene by shooting one of the TIE-fighters and knocking Vader out of the way, that we only see Han in close-up and then suddenly Chewie is in the co-pilot seat after the DS explodes. Since obviously someone would have had to be operating the laser cannons, and thereās no one else available but Chewie, I wonder if they cut to the CU to avoid any continuity errors as Chewie is suddenly back in the cockpit shortly after. Looking at the scene now it really seems like Chewie was always sitting next to Han and they had to cut around it.

Since you mentioned the blue, is it not wierd that Luke was all blue on Achto but on tattoine heās just normal? I think that could be why I feel it looks a little off.

Ummmā¦ Haydenās head was just glued onto Shawās body. They never changed the body, just the head. All the more reason why itās so truly offensive.
