Who put a hyphen there??
Dunno, just found it on the internet. 😕

Good idea!
Yes, I agree.
We just need someone willing to try it out…
Don’t mind me, just revisiting what may in fact be the greatest AOTC edit ever.

Perhaps you could edit the Mando out of this shot to incorporate it as the Mudhorn actually coming out of the cave once he sees it? 🤔

It could have been Bocce, or the binary language of moisture vaporators…
Awesome!
I did notice however, that it seems in some parts such as when Rey says, “Master Skywalker!” and “She didn’t tell me!” the mask to increase the flesh colours is still continued into the wrong frame. You can tell since those shots of Rey are very orange.
Looks incredible Bobson! Thanks for posting!
Chase, I don’t think Kef Bir needs to be altered, as it looks pretty similar to Endor already, moreso maybe even than two different sides of Earth.
Understood, thanks for replying so soon.
I’m sure most of you guys have already seen this in the Ideas thread, but I think it could work well with Hal’s edit if he agrees on it:
Since a lot of edits are repurposing the chess scene to put it at the end, has anyone thought about repurposing the shot of Rey, Finn, Poe, Threepio, and Chewie in the cockpit of the falcon from earlier in the movie as well? It’s got that “family portrait in space” vibe that the original trilogy’s ending shots all had.

I think the best way to pull this off would be to have the end scene play out as Poppasketti and Hal intended it to, then after they all jump to lightspeed, have this shot then iris out and… Done!
Normally I would mock something like this up but my hardrive with all my films and edits on it is seriously fucked so you’ll have to just trust me on this one. 😉
Edit:
Poppasketti, once you’re happy with the ice moon of Endor, let us know when you Google Drive it!
Nice work Poppasketti, didn’t expect anyone to actually do it!
We’ll have to wait to see if Hal thinks if Kef Bir should be replaced with a matte more similiar to the ROTJ forest moon but I think it’s okay as is.
As for replacing the moon with an icy one, it looks great! My only concern is that there is already two other settings in the film that are ice-covered but I suppose this one works fine.
Hey Hal,
Just picked up on a potential issue with one of the edits implemented and thought I should bring it to your attention before I head off to bed.
So seeing as to how you’re using snooker’s Endor establishing shot to re-contextualise Kef Bir as the forest moon of Endor, we may have a problem…

As you can see, the falcon flies directly past what is clearly the same forest moon from ROTJ, if we reestablish Kef Bir as the forest moon, then the actual forest moon would need to be erased. It seems silly to have the forest moon of Endor right next to a massive planet that we have never seen before anyway…
Since this has become something of a Hal/Poppasketti collaboration, I was wondering if either of you two had any thoughts about giving this a go?
Adywan will cook up something in his HD ANH:R.
Actually, Adywan has already released a look at what Alderaan’s explosion will be like in HD ANH:R, and yes, there is a quite a magnificent shockwave if I may say so myself:
Do you have a link to what Bobson is doing?

“Thanks to modern editing techniques, we can use existing footage to complete the film without Milhouse!”

I’ve had a talk with the incredible Bobson Dugnutt about his progress on Luke’s force ghost and fortunately, he has informed me that at some point today he’ll be posting a preview clip of what he’s done so far. Hal, I would hold off on exporting anything final until Bobson has wrapped this project up because believe me, you’ll want to include this in your edit if he can pull it off!
Also, It’s worth noting that from what I’ve seen, Skenera’s LUT applied to Bobson’s test screenshots works beautifully together!
Once the shot of D-O has been cropped, the real issue is the massive pole protruding from BB-8’s face. 😬
Hal, or someone else, what needs to be done with the squeaky wheel scene?
I think Hal has considered not using it at all. The puppetry equipment is very noticable.
Well, here’s a new pass of the Ochi ship!

pw: fanedit
That’s pretty great!
I think the only thing holding it back is that it seems as if the edges of the ship element are a little too soft and overall the ship seems like too much of a blur. If Kylo is out of focus, then the ship should be a little sharper, otherwise the only point of interest is the mountain, which doesn’t seem right.
Just my thoughts!
Poppasketti, that Klaud removal is mind blowingly good! 😱
Although I always did like the sheer stupidity of having a giant slug just standing in the doorway in every shot without any explanation…
Perhaps he could have been retconned to be this guy:

Hey, if it can be done right, I’d take it.

Okay, I’ve got a lot to say now after taking the time to follow all of this progress… 😉
So first of all, Hal asked this:
This is a long shot, but does anyone know of 3PO dialogue speaking about a rumored or hidden imperial fleet?
I regret to report that after searching far and wide for such a line, all I could come across was lines of him saying things like, “This old ship is a piece of shit, Han Solo!” and such…
On that note, Hal, how do you feel about his line, “How dare you! We’ve only just met!” 😒 Does it need to be changed?
Also, I posted this a while ago, but now seeing that Bobson Dugnutt is back online, here it is again for your consideration:
This isn’t on Hal’s list, but I strongly recommend using Bobson Dugnutt’s version of force ghost Luke on Ach’To when it is finished as it drastically reduces the level of blueness and makes it more in line with the OT ghosts.
That’s awesome!
Where did you get that Tom Kane narration from?
Looks like Kenobi is indeed heading to a 2032 release date.
FTFY
Guess it would depend on the length of the show, my investment in the show, and the type of show it is (episodic vs. serialized).
