The Worst Scene/Sequence in Any Star Wars Film
Time

Yeah, it was pretty obvious (to me) that he’d have succeeded in destroying the weapon, but at the cost of his life. Sacrificing himself to save everyone else and all that. Her saving him was extremely selfish, but somehow still depicted as the right thing to have done?

They definitely should have done something more to make it clear Finn either wouldn’t have made it to his target, or that if he had it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Didn’t he remove it entirely?

Ok, yes, and I’ll admit I haven’t been following the last few pages of this thread very closely. I would vote for removing it entirely like Q2 did but of course I’m not sure how that would work for your edit…

Well, it worked out great in versions 1-5 of Hal’s edit, which is why I’m so bummed he seems intent on putting it back in for version 6! 😉

In my opinion , the documentary , From Star Wars To Jedi The Making Of A Saga is the Gold Standard of all official Star Wars documentaries to date.

What about Empire of Dreams?

I love Star Wars more, but Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner is my favorite making-of doc.

Check out Hearts of Darkness (making of Apocalypse Now) and Burden of Dreams (making of Fitzcarraldo). Probably the two best “making of” docs ever made, both arguably better than the movies they document.

My thought was, that the line would be coming from the next scene. (example: TFA - The scavenger, resisted you?!) So you wouldn’t need a reaction shot of Anakin/Padme in the hallway.
So in theory, it would be:

  • Anakin & Padme are walking through the hallway
  • VO of Dooku: Greetings, senator. (or maybe "May I ask why a senator is all the way out here on Geonosis?)
  • Cut to next scene
  • Pamde: You’re holding a Jedi knight…

So, a split edit/L-cut? I like this idea.

Info: Comparing the Despecialized vs 4K77 : Dawn of Justice - which is best?

Yeah, it’s a “sourced from a release print” thing. They got super lucky with the 4K83 print since it was (assuming I remember right) a show print that’s a couple generations closer to the negative than a release print would be, so it was A) rarely projected and thus in much better shape, and B) not nearly as contrasty, so you don’t have the crushed blacks or clipped whites that the 4K77 print has in some areas.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>

Rogue One attempted to fix this continuity error by giving ponda a similar arm to the severed one shown in the Jedha scene.

Ady, I wonder if thats a change worth implementing in ANHR:HD? To change ponda’s hands BEFORE the arm is severed to match as opposed to changing the arm on the ground.

Would provide better continuity with Rogue One as well.

I’d rather cut the cameo out of Rogue One myself.

4K77 version 1.0 is NOT Sanjuro’s grade. The no-DNR 1.0 is white balanced to the sprocket holes.

4K77 no-DNR v1.4 has Sanjuro’s grade and a new scan of the opening crawl (1.0 used the SSE crawl upscaled from 1080p).

The DNR versions of 4K77 all have an entirely different color grade by williarob, in addition to some more cleanup than the no-DNR. The MKV versions use the SSE crawl upscaled from 1080p, and the Blu-Ray version uses the new 4K scan of the crawl.

This is all for SW. For ROTJ/4K83, Sanjuro’s grade is v1.1 for the no-DNR release, and v1.1 or v1.2 for the DNR release (v1.2 being SkyDude’s DNR settings and the basis for the v1.2 Blu-Ray release). All ROTJ v1.0s were graded by ohteedee if I’m not mistaken.

  • Star Wars: 4K77 Blu-Ray release, which is the DNR version - no reel change markers, some more cleanup, and much less grainy without losing detail - plus the updated scan of the crawl which the DNR MKV doesn’t have. The only drawback IMO is the color grading, which is a little uneven, and Sanjuro’s excellent regrade can’t be applied to it easily as it was graded differently than the non-DNR release.
  • Empire: Despecialized 2.0
  • Jedi: 4K83 DNR - get the v1.1 (Sanjuro grade), v1.2 (SkyDude DNR settings and Sanjuro grade), or the v1.2 Blu-Ray release (same as v1.2 MKV). Like the DNR 4K77, it has no reel change markers, and Sanjuro’s color is a marked improvement over the initial v1.0 standard and DNR Blu-Ray releases.

How do you actually watch this? There’s a dead link to iTunes and a YT trailer without it hosted… this is… disappointing.

To expand on what Starkiller said, for legal reasons we cannot share links openly on the forum, so you’ll never find a “Download Here” or “Stream Here” link on originaltrilogy.com or fanedit.org - in both cases, you have to send a private message to the creator and they’ll respond in private with a link.

Is anyone here aware that a Darth Vader breathing sound is heard at the end of the credits? It’s a nice touch and I think it could be added to The Approaching Storm. The only edit of Episode II that I’m aware adds in the breathing is Attack of the Phantom.

Seems like a waste of effort to me. Who’s ever going to hear or notice it? I never knew there was any such thing in TPM or any other SW movie.

Personally a no for me. Since one, the scene doesn’t really serve any purpose but a “Oh hey its Greedo!” and two, importantly it is another example of trying to shrink the Star Wars Galaxy. All these silly cameos and connections just make the whole narrative small when we are talking about countless galaxies, planets, etc.

Maybe so, but it does show off an aggressive side to Anakin and would work as foreshadowing for his future.

Not worth the horrendous “fighting” acting and incredibly stupid OT character cameo.

I didn’t go with that version of that line because the action climax has many other lines in her deep voice, so making that one change would seem weird.
I’d love to have the whole movie in her higher pitched voice but it seems virtually impossible to adjust pitch of just her voice and not the rest of the soundtrack.

It is quite possible to go into the audio channels and separate her voice to adjust her voice close to how she sounded in the trailers.

I don’t see why this is worth the effort.
