I'll go with between $75 and $100. Probably in the $90 range.

Yeah, one of his quotes from the other day seemed to effectively say that the theatrical cuts are lower on the priority list and wouldn't be on this release, not that they weren't being considered at all.
I'm betting that they'll be restored and released eventually, but I'm not holding my breath that it'll happen in the next 5 years. Maybe in 2017 for the 40th anniversary?

So the Jedi deleted scene was on the 2004 DVDs? I must have missed that.
I never said anything of the kind.
Well, your argument was that the never-before-released deleted scenes were likely to be presented in SD because the trilogy has been released on DVD before.
However, the deleted scenes haven't, so they're new content, being released on Blu-Ray for the first time. Therefore, it's more likely that they'll be presented in 1080p.

even though it was the first release for such a film?It is not the first release for these films.

Oooh, this sounds pretty freakin' sweet! I'm excited!
ABC, would you consider doing the same for ANH and ROTJ?
I think Zombie84 over in the General Star Wars Discussion part of the site hit it on the head:
It's how the scene would have looked if it was released with the film in 1983, but the only new footage shot was of C-3PO and either Mark Hamill with Artoo, or a stand-in for Mark. The Vader stuff was culled from deleted ESB and ROTJ footage, and lines that hadn't been used in other scenes. 3PO was composited in later over the footage of Luke and Artoo, and the scene was in the cut that John Williams scored to, which is why there's music for it.
I'm pretty sure Zombie is right. Williams wouldn't have recorded the score for it in 1982 if there wasn't any footage to score to.
Harmy, based on that video, I think it is the same prop.
1) Look at the way the activation button slides open in the "deleted scene" and the footage you linked me to
2) There's a distinct possibility that the full scene wasn't shown at Celebration V
3) It's also possible that, in editing the scene before it was excised completely, the "tinkering" footage was cut down to the point where most of the "disassembling"/"reassembling" wasn't included.
Seriously though, as soon as the guy in the video you linked slid open the button, my immediate thought was, "That's clearly the same prop in the deleted scene."
Death Star in Disarray/Tatooine Rendezvous. At least, that's what mine says (I think I got it from ABC).
Presumably, right after Vader goes "The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am" and storms off, this scene begins, where Vader is continuing to storm off, arrives in his chamber-thing, and starts telepathically communicating to Luke.
I'm 98% sure that this isn't the full version of the scene, and it actually continues onward, with Luke giving R2 the lightsaber, then sending the droids off.
Then you'd cut to R2 and Threepio heading to Jabba's palace, and the film continues as normal from there.
#1 - Looks like ROTJ Mark to me.
#2 - He doesn't even get the glove until after the fight at the Sarlacc, when his artificial hand gets shot and the wiring is exposed. He would NOT have had the glove on in this scene.
#3 - Show me a picture of this prop, I've never seen it
#4 - It doesn't look "prequel style" to me at all. The lightsaber ignition shot reminds me of Vader lighting Luke's in ROTJ, and the shots of Vader walking to his chamber feel just like ROTJ.
I do agree that this scene was cut for a good reason, though.
...Seriously? They're both lossless codecs, so there is NO difference at all between DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.
Yeah, like I said, he's not ruling out the down-the-line possibility.
I imagine it won't happen for quite a while, though.
I read a little earlier today that Lucas (or maybe Hamill) said before presenting this scene that it was cut very late in post-production, so the effects, transitions and music were already completed. It wasn't retouched like the PT deleted scenes were.

What a steaming pile of Bantha you know what!
The deleted scenes will be all over the tubes days after the discs come out anyway.
My thoughts exactly. I ain't buyin' shit until the original versions are released on Blu-Ray. I'll just start pokin' around the torrent sites a couple weeks before the release date.
At least he's not ruling out an eventual OOT Blu-Ray relase:

Google "how to rip a blu-ray."
You'll need a Blu-Ray drive (obviously) and Windows in order to do it. And 50-100 GB free space.
Don't worry, Blu-Rays are very rippable. :D
I haven't really been following this, but have you given any thought to cutting Fett from the film completely?
It's always bugged me that he does nothing in ROTJ. On top of that, he's a bounty hunter - what's he doing chilling at Jabba's palace when he should be out hunting bounties?

I think had Kurtz been the one to win out with the direction of ROTJ ... the Falcon ... would of gone out in a blaze of glory destroying the second Death Star.
I don't think this is true. I think if Kurtz had won out, there wouldn't have been a second Death Star.
The "Lost Chronology" project begins on the day of the crash (with Desmond not pushing the button) and ends with Jack dying. The pre-crash flashbacks will be cut together and released later as a "Season 0," while the flash-sideways will be an epilogue miniseries/season/episode/whatever.
The "Chronologically Lost" project begins with the birth of Jacob and MIB and follows along until Jack's death. I dunno how they're gonna be doing the flash-sideways timeline, though.
Point being, if you want you can check each of these projects out and see what feels better to you.
I recommend watching the TV show it's based on, The Thick of It. It's hilarious, better than the movie IMO. Many of the same actors appear in it, but only the Malcolm character is the same in both the film and the series.
You mean going from a 1.78:1 aspect ratio to 2.39:1?
I liked the ending of Shutter Island much more than the ending of Inception, personally.
Overall, Inception is the better film, but it's the one that had a cop-out ending, IMO.

At what point in the film would this have taken place? What cave?
The cave where Luke builds his new lightsaber, before the droids go to Jabba's palace.
The only evidence before this picture became available was a matte painting for an establishing shot that may or may not have been used. This is the first confirmation (that I know of) that it was actually filmed.
double post, sorry
