Well, I’m going to keep believing that’s what happened as my headcanon because it was one of my favorite things about the movie.
But since I was sure the Internet would be calling for Abrams’ head over that choice and…no one is, clearly that wasn’t even close to the typical interpretation of that scene.
Wow. Okay. I thought that was 100% the intent of that scene and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of balls JJ had for having Rey be the one to kill Leia, even if it was an accident on her part.
If that’s not what happened it might legitimately knock down my opinion of the movie a peg or two…

Wait…am I the only one who interpreted the Leia/Ben scene as Leia “inhabiting” Ben’s spirit to try to turn him, which distracts him so Rey can stab him, which ends up killing Leia?
As in…Rey, in a moment of Dark Side weakness, is the one who killed Leia?
I thought that was extremely powerful and the perfect motivation for Rey to try and pull an Obi-Wan/Yoda/Luke and go to Ach-To to give up and die. And it seemed explicitly foreshadowed by her thinking she accidentally killed Cheque earlier in the movie.
They find the Horcrux after conquering Devil’s Snare and befriending the Basilisk, but it is stolen by some bad Quiddich players

Honestly, the color grade for the new ROTJ master reminded me a lot of the v1.0 4K83 colors.
Yeah, it was a deleted scene or two shown after the credits as a bonus. Disney has yet to release an extended cut of any of their Marvel films.
Endgame was re-released with an extended version so Disney might be doing the same with Star wars (I hope).
Source? I never saw anything about an extended Endgame, just Spider-Man FFH which was entirely a Sony decision (and so far was a theatrical exclusive).
How easy do we think it would be to shift Rey Palpatine from being an actual biological granddaughter into being created by Palpatine the way he (probably) created Anakin?

I don’t know how anybody can read leaks to a movie and then be upset about it. Obviously if you read something and decide you don’t like it before seeing how it’s meant to be presented, then you’re setting yourself up with disappointment.
+1 for this. I really believe that my abstaining from spoilers/leaks/speculation contributed a lot to my enjoyment.
(That’s not to say that there aren’t plenty of people who went in unspoiled and still disliked it, of course.)

Yeah, I think I’m going to refrain from engaging with other fans about this movie for a very, very long time. Trying to talk about TLJ exhausted me. This one feels like it’s going to be even worse.
I’ll just take my “I liked the movie” and move on with my life until people start working on fan edits.
I have no clue how or if this could be accomplished, but Palpatine’s message to the Galaxy should be something we actually SEE, not just a footnote in the crawl.

Well, I’m really glad I avoided spoilers because if I’d read the leaks I would have gone in thinking it was the dumbest possible story they could have done, because it looks that way on paper, and it probably would have made me hate it.
But I went in completely clean (minus trailers) and…I really liked it.
The first half hour or so was a mess and made me incredibly nervous and skeptical, but the rest sucked me in and I was on board.
I think it’s currently my favorite of the ST, but that could just be recency bias.
I’m going to try to avoid reading too many reactions from other people to let myself digest it on my own terms for a while, but at the moment I’m happy and satisfied with how the saga “ended”…
…until we get the inevitable Episode X in twenty years with Jedi Master Rey Skywalker.

Watched V2 last night. Excellent work once again! The Canto Bight balcony extension fixed the last lingering issues I had with pacing, and Phasma’s corpse was absolutely seamless and an excellent touch!
I realized the main problem was that I went to the wrong planet first…whatever you do when first given a choice don’t go to Dathomir like I did. You get to a point you can’t pass and the enemies are far harder for the start of the game. So now I’ve gone back and gone to the other planet and everything is much better.
I don’t know why they give you that option. It’s like someone saying: hey, here’s level 5 you can do a third of and die a lot if you haven’t leveled up.
This sounds like an open world game - like exploring the wasteland in Fallout and stumbling into a herd of Deathclaws when you’re at level 1.
Is this an open world game? I was under the impression that it was linear, a la Uncharted, etc.?

This is a fairly unique situation and I think George likes the fact he can and will do what “He wants” with them (his films).
You can either accept this vision that he currently has or watch the fan preservations of the originals.
That is it in a nutshell unless you can somehow get him to change his mind on it all.
And you know think about that Storm Trooper Riding on the dewback. George Likes it but he feels it’s not good enough. You need to pair that lobby card with the Special Edition and make the man realise we liked it for the original creature effects people respected how it was done. It was brilliantly executed but the courage to show it in close up was not enough.
But when you look at the Cgi horribleness and the lobby card creature effects the Lobby card wins everytime. You know and I know why George liked it.
Remind him why Star wars was so good not complain and go on and on.
Call this out and say well we only wanted to see the original creature effects not Cgi ones. But we agree It looked good shame we never got to see them close up we envy you 😃

I’d say, custom modification. The bottom part of this T/F’s central piece looks a bit bulkier (in order to have the landing gear in it) than the one of the normal T/F (which basically looks like a sphere).
And balance has been restored (for now). Thanks for the new headcanon!
