Aw, man. I was so happy to see him in Twin Peaks this year. I’ll be watching Repo Man tonight in his honor.
Well, he’s never done Boba before, but he’s American, not Kiwi or Aussie, so that automatically makes it more likely that he’ll do a Wingreen-esque voice than a Morrison-esque one.
I think they look like shit.
Feel better?
If you can’t tell us what makes your version different from HAL’s, or Q2’s, or l8writer’s, or MagnoliaFan’s, or Seciors’, or the TONS of other SW fanedits out there, why should I care about yours if I’ve found the ones I’m happy with already? A cutlist is the best way to do this, especially if you don’t want to watch everyone else’s edits and explain to us how your approach differs.
I do not want to put any kind of cut scenes list because that will RUIN everything.
That’s kind of a standard thing for fan edits. Very few people will want to commit to watching hours upon hours of edits of films they’ve seen multiple times in many forms, official and fan edited, without a cutlist.
I know I won’t, especially after I’ve already seen about 5-10 fan edits of each prequel and have finally settled on the ones I like the most.
The worst thing about SWGOH is it causes me to use prequel characters like Darth Sidious.
Who has two lightsabers? Very odd.
He uses two in The Clone Wars, for what it’s worth.
It’s probably to “explain” where he got another one in ROTS after he lost his in the Windu duel. “He had two all along, see?!” 😒
That’s because the letterboxing is cropped off for the MKV, so it’s not full 1280x720 and therefore isn’t BD-compliant.
ALL PEOPLE ARE WEIRD
Found by new sig. Thanks, Frink!
JEDIT: HOW THE HELL DO SIGNATURES WORK ON THE NEW (to me) SOFTWARE?!?! I CAN’T SEE SHIT!
JEDIT2: NEVERMIND, THERE IT IS.
Thanks to him and ImageShack, the mockups are mostly gone, but the list is just private if I had the momentum to clean it up.
Now hosting all the images on the Wordpress, we’re back up.
I remember reading this sometime ago. Some really solid ideas in there (though not all necessarily feasible).
Honestly the thing I probably want fixed most is the focus on the stars in the throne room sequence.
Distracts me every time.
Oh god yes this. How could I have forgotten about this?
Well, she’s back in TLJ, so I guess it depends on whether she lives or not.
I still wish the ending of TFA had been Finn, Han, and Chewie infiltrating the Finalizer to rescue Rey while the ship and the First Order fleet attack Hosnian Prime. The movie could’ve still ended with the destruction of Hosnian Prime, the Senate, and the Republic fleet, you’d get a real space battle, and you’d ditch the Death Star 3.0 bullshit. And a lightsaber duel aboard a Star Destroyer that’s breaking apart as it’s…well…destroyed would have been amazing.
Er…wait…wrong thread.
So sorry to hear that, Poita. I wish you a speedy recovery. As Neverar said, take all the time you need.
It would make more sense for SKB to be Illum, though I don’t really like that idea myself.
Vengeance is absolutely fantastic. One of the best fanedits in general I’ve seen, and it’s the definitive version of STID for me.
And yeah, I generally liked ST09 and really liked Beyond. If you put Vengeance in the middle in place of STID, the trilogy increases in quality as it goes on.
I can’t even begin to imagine what that must have been like, Warb. I’ve experienced my share of death and while it does get easier every day, I know it’s never truly easy.
As for this version replacing the original, don’t we have T2 in high enough quality for this to pretty much be a non-issue?
Haven’t all the previous BD editions of T2 had various issues (overzealous grain removal/DNR or generally low-quality, older scans)?
I’m happy Abrams is directing, though I’d hoped for someone new.
I’m not happy that he’s writing, though Chris Terrio’s involvement helps a bit with that. (I firmly believe that BvS would have been significantly worse without him.)
Indy 5 is 100% confirmed.
I don’t completely hate Crystal Skull, but it’s clearly the weakest of the franchise. Haven’t checked out any fanedits of that one yet, though.
I also have to say that I really love Temple of Doom and I’m more or less ambivalent on Last Crusade, bar the last 30 minutes or so which are fantastic. The rest is watchable because of Connery and Ford.
Raiders is, of course, a perfect movie. Which makes it part of a very small group.
I walked out of a Fathom Events screening of Poltergeist a few years ago because it was a shitty low-res projection that went from letterboxed (you read that right) 2.40:1 during the credits to cropped 16:9 for the rest of the movie.
The trilogy is my second-favorite gaming franchise after Metal Gear. So many great moments, and all three games fall into the very rare category of games I’ve finished more than twice.
Andromeda was okay. Lots of potential, but the announcement that it won’t be getting any single player DLC kind of killed any enthusiasm I had for the game. Probably won’t even finish my second playthrough. I wanted that Quarian ark DLC so badly…
KK650’s ESB Semi-Specialised Edition does include the theatrical Emperor courtesy of Adywan.
They mean his ESB: Revisited Emperor, not his restoration of the theatrical Emperor. Two different things.
Bias saturation not color saturation.
I’m sorry, what?
I’m looking at it on my phone (still no internet connection here for some stupid reason), but it doesn’t seem oversaturated to me.
I honestly don’t hate Quantum. It’s not amazing, but I’ve never really understood the unmitigated hate for it. It suffered a lot from the writer’s strike though. And it works best if you see it as an epilogue to CR than as its own film (though that isn’t exactly praise for the film). The opera scene is fucking great though and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.
SPECTRE, on the other hand, was offensively boring and a waste of a great actor (Waltz) on what should have been a great character (Blofeld). I’m actually hoping he comes back for the next one so he might get a chance to redeem the character.
