1997 Special Edition Audio Mixes, GOUT-Synced (Released)
Time

There appears to be a problem with my DTS encodes of these, as pointed out by a user on MySpleen. The DTS copies are the only ones that are affected. HAL and I are working on getting this fixed - I’ve identified the problem and know how to fix it, but I can’t do so with the files he’s already provided me, I’ll need the individual mono WAVs for each channel, so it might be a bit before the patched DTS versions are available.

I should note that they’re not unlistenable - the problem is a loud “POP” at the very beginning and a loud burst of static noise at the very end. The other issue is that these somehow ended up as 24 bit output, which isn’t really an issue other than the fact that the source was 16 bit and 24 bit is not DVD-compatible.

Real fun to have to see this dug up again. 😕

It would be simple to just state why a user was banned when the hammer drops. I don’t see why that’s a problem. Maybe I’m not seeing the full picture.

Or if something of an explanation and whether it’s temporary or permanent could be added to the user page upon banning.

What is/was the best SW Game ever, on any platform?

The X-Wing/TIE Fighter series for PC were the best Star Wars games ever.
They could easily be remade and outdone now. Why nobody’s doin’ it is beyond me.

Because flight sims aren’t “in” right now.

Sidenote, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter VR would be the only thing I can think of to get me to throw money into VR. That would be amazing.

He claimed his daughter died in a terrorist attack (I think…it could have been a natural disaster, don’t recall specifically). The staff felt (rightly so IMO) that they had enough evidence that he was lying to ban him.

I hope they were right. Would be horrible to loose your child and then be banned from a place you like because the Mods don’t believe you.

He admitted to it IIRC.

Might be sacrilege to say this, but the 1990 remake is pretty damn good and very faithful to the original in spirit while greatly improving the female lead and throwing in some curveballs to those familiar with the original (so it’s not boring as shit like the 1990s Psycho or anything). I’d recommend giving it a shot.

I don’t prefer it to the original, mind you - I’m recommending it in the same way someone might recommend a faithful film adaptation of a novel to someone who couldn’t quite get into the book.

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **

Dude. If you’re going to share creative ideas with other people (especially other creatives) you need thicker skin. Don’t get pissed off when people share constructive criticism.

As a piece of fanfiction, it’s not bad. As an honest suggestion for a fan edit of a live action film, it’s just not feasible, and most of us don’t think it would improve the film even if it was.

And less than a quarter (at most) of the comments about it were vitriolic or dismissive. All rest were legitimate constructive criticism or honest opinions about whether or not it’s suitable as a suggestion for this project presented in a polite manner, which is exactly what you asked us for.

I don’t know why he should act surprised either way, though. He knows his father was scarred and damaged to the point he required a walking iron lung to survive.

As for the feasibility of your scene, it seems pretty much impossible to implement in any way that would blend with surrounding footage at all. Plus a lot of it is told through prose and not dialogue or blocking, a lot of internal struggles and such - a big rule in screenwriting is only write what the audience will be able to see and hear, anything else is superfluous.

If you’re suggesting to move the Vader/Luke Endor scene to the meditation chamber on the Executor and this is kind of a long-winded way to get that point across, then that’s a more reasonable suggestion. But I still see it as too much work to pull off for something that will end up less effective than what we already have.

It’s going to be difficult to offer meaningful suggestions outside of technical/continuity fixes until we have some idea of what sort of more radical changes Ady might be planning. We already know he’s not including deleted scenes or restructuring the first act, as both of those have been suggested and shot down already.

Things that you would like to see in Star Wars that have not happened

I assume he meant the original novelizations, though I’ve met more than a few people IRL who think the original Star Wars was based on a novel written by George Lucas because the novelization (credited to Lucas, ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster) was released a good 6 months before the film, and due to the nature of the film’s release, possibly up to a year before the film came out locally for whoever I may have been talking to at the time.
