Is Part 4 of anything ever good??

So basically, you've been saying intentionally stupid things, intentionally misrepresenting my posts.

No. The things I have been saying haven't been stupid. All I did was make a few responses to your posts in order to encourage you to keep on writing semi-amusing long-ass posts about how right you are.

The only real irony in all of this is that most of my fellow off topic members would agree that everything you have been constantly accusing me of doing for the past few days, describe your own posting habits perfectly.

Anyway, there is a whole thread dedicated to giving you those examples you were looking for. I think you'll find every link on Frink's thread leads to an example of you being and doing everything we have accused you of (including the accusation that you think your opinions are facts).

Well, so much for the examples then, eh?

To be honest, I am not even really sure what I am suppose to be giving examples of. Beyond skimming them for amusing quotes, I haven't really been reading any of your posts, just enough so I'd be able to make responses to egg you on in a behinds the scene conspiracy to build the perfect twooffour quote archive of all time.

I guess that's alright, as the off-topic derailment of this thread basically started with someone (RedFive) accusing me of "stating my opinions as facts" (first with a quote list, then with that graphic).

What is it like always being right when everyone around you is wrong all the time, and being so much more intelligent than everyone else? It must be really nice.

So don't bother with the examples that might justify you derailing this thread for 3 pages.
Just pop in to drop a few snarky remarks and OPINIONS not backed up by examples, then quickly bow out when you're cornered. Pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about, if necessary... like "what, this topic was about remakes, but then RedFive posted something, just what was it? please help me out!".
Just don't forget to apologize, I'm sure Mrebo of all won't mind. :)

The fun thing "about" OPINIONS is they don't fucking have to be backed up by anything. They are "opinions" for a reason.

But you're right, you totally have me cornered like a frightened animal. I really don't know what to say or where to go from here. I am just really ashamed of how I've acted over the last two days and only hope my fellow members can forgive me. And I feel really guilty about picking on such a great and outstanding member as yourself. You totally didn't deserve to be treated that way.

Interestingly enough, I seriously really don't even know what you are looking for examples of at this point. I'm sure I'd be willing to give them to you, but I am not really up for wading through your endless posts to figure out what I am meant to be giving examples of.

By the way, you never did answer that question about your height, does that mean I cornered you too?  ;)

By the way, I apologized to Mrebo privately for what I helped do to this thread, but I'd like to do it publicly now as well.

Sorry, man.  It's just so hard to stop!

Yeah, I guess your right, Fink. We probably should have kept our fun confined to twooffour's thread. Not that it was really worth much when you couldn't even discuss the topic thanks to a constant barrage of things like "NO, WRONG" and other such trolling in response to every post.

Anyway, yes, sorry Mrebo. This will be my last off-topic post in this thread.

You probably should, and I'm glad you've finally realized that you were the one who picked this fight. Cut it out in the future, will ya?

While you're at it, you should also learn to stop tossing accusations at other people when you're unable to define, or back them up; 'cause that's really bad.

Oh man! Frink, over here!

It is like Christmas!

Just in the interest of not letting a good thing die... What exactly did I accuse you of that I wasn't able to define or backup?

Nah, all kidding aside - it probably would, had it also been tongue-in-cheek, and not so damn self-serious.

Nah, all kidding aside - it really wouldn't. But you're right, I need to stop being so serious and picking fights and being a consistent condescending asshole to everyone in order to make up for my feelings of inadequacy regarding my small stature.

I really just need to cut it the fuck out.

doubleKO, thank god you put "butthurting" in quotes! That phrase should never be allowed to roam free among other words. Of it must be repeated, keeping it safely contained between quotation marks is most certainly for the best.

Now that's pretty funny...

* I missed that post of yours. Was I actually WRONG or was that just a twooffour impression?

A little bit of effort to emulate my new hero in there, but it was mostly about what a cringe-worthily infantile word "butthurt" is. IT must "be" contained!

VINYLVINYLVINYL!

I've got 78s from the 1930s, they may not be portable but they are a lot longer lasting than optical discs and much easier to repair too.

I would be very surprised if as many CDs would be playable in 2060something.

Do pressed optical discs, kept in good condition, suffer from deterioration over time?

I love vinyl, but one of my laments has been over how delicate they are. My room mate was listening to my vinyl Viva La Vida last year and managed to scratch the crap out of it by dragging the needle across it. Now every time the needle passes over that scratch there is a click and it lasts for a good three songs. Is there actually an easy way to fix this sort of thing, or does the "easier to repair too" apply only to 78s? Nice thing about CDs, is that you can often buff out scratches that cause reading errors, and it usually takes some relatively heavy abuse before most modern CD players start to have trouble anyway.

Blah blah blah, apology accepted, blah.

If I apologized in anywhere in there, it was purely by accident.

Blah blah blah.

EDIT: Blah, blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah blah blah :D

Yea, exactly. I'm trying to discredit your other points by clinging to your little "mistake", yes? Well, what other points?
All you said in the end was "oh my god, I used the wrong words, I lose!!"
You had no points.

I was talking in my post prior to the one in which I admit defeat, the one where I made the dumb mistakes. You avoided the points I was trying to make and went on about how I was changing the sub-topic. Not that I blame you, my mistake made for a very confusing post and I didn't/don't feel like taking the time to go fix it, and I really don't have much interest in your convoluted reasoning about the well established and defined meanings of "facts" and "opinions" being wrong. I do, however, find it really fun that you are so argumentative that you'll argue with a dictionary definitions about the meanings of words.

PS: Retroactive Rule of Internet Asskickery, my friend. It wasn't the temporal sense of "then", more like "and with all that in mind", or "on top of that". Like "how you wanna lecture me while getting such basics mixed up". Could've said "and that after", but hey, wouldn't have mattered.

Score!

No, you're disputing the established topic of this sub-discussion, which is FACT and OPINION, not "fiction".

Shit! Used the wrong word on accident!

CP3S loses the thread. It's official.

Not really by "accident", seeing as how you continued to use it about 3-4 times after that.

Okay, don't take my word for it.

I'd say it was a thought failure - you really couldn't distinguish between "opinion that can't be knowledge due to lack of data", "opinion about mental states" and "making up a bunch of stuff that doesn't exist".

The words "fact" and "fiction" are often used together, for some reason as I was typing those words slipped out, but the entire time my mind was thinking "fact" and "opinion". Yeah, I admit, it was a pretty lame mistake to make. If I'd take the time to proof read my posts like I should, I'd have caught it. But now you're seriously going to take the stance that I don't know the difference between the meanings of "fiction" and "opinion"?

The likelihood of someone making a silly error absentmindedly substituting one set of words often paired together for another set of words often paired together seems like it would far outweigh the probability of someone my age not realizing there is a difference between "fiction" and "opinion". But if it makes you feel better about yourself and lends to discrediting my points, I guess I can't blame you for going with it.

"And then you wanna lecture me about "established definitions".

Technically you don't want to use "and then" in this instance, since my lecturing you took place prior to the silly errors in my post that officially established that I don't know there is a difference between "opinion" and "fiction" and feel they can be used interchangeably.

Alien Resurrection is a Part 4 that is good.

NO, WRONG.

Oh.  I did not know that.

It's a lot better than Alien 3.

Resurrection is better than the theatrical cut of Alien 3.  The Assembly Cut on the other hand is the superior film.

I admit Alien 3 is extremely weak and disappointing, I just really couldn't stand that film. I am actually a fan of the director too, and was cautiously excited when I heard he was making the film. I went in wanting to like it, but Jean-Pierre Jeunet's style and quirkiness just didn't work in the Alien universe for me. All the little subtle things I loved about Alien and its first two sequels were completely removed from Resurrection. Also the bringing back of a main character who was dramatically killed off previously is always a really terrible idea.

Well it depends over what, and if it's a lame joke that was never meant to be offensive in the first place

So, insulting the intelligence of others is simply a "joke" and shouldn't be taken offensively.

By that "logic" you do realize you could say virtually anything to anyone, then wuss out and hid behind your "It was a lame joke!" defense, then tell them they had no reason to be offended at your insult because it wasn't intended to be offensive.

I've said this multiple times before, I was never offended. Just because wasn't willing to take your bullshit doesn't mean I was offended. It takes a lot more than just some guy with little man syndrome on a web forum to offend me.

It's a bit weird that you find offending and "butthurting" someone hilarious, maybe that's why we are having trouble with your sense of humour. It is good to see that your posts are becoming shorter :)
