2ndBSG a review and, analysis of season 3 - the finale + Caprica observations (Spoilers)
Time

RE: The writer's strike.

Did that actually change any of the episodes though? During the strike they weren't allowed to do any rewrites, so all the scripts were finished were finished pre-strike... in other words... how could their lack of certainty as to whether or not they were coming back after the mid-season break have effected the writing of the episodes?

Also, I think Ronald D. Moore was a bit overly dramatic during the strike with all his "If as a result of this strike we never get to finished the series, that is a price we are willing to pay" spiel. Galactica's ratings were tanking at the time, but if I remember correctly, they were still quite good for a Sci-Fi channel show, and that was Sci-Fi's flagship show at the time.

Showing mundane stuff that doesn't move things along at all. Adama crying many times, looking at paint dry, painting a single color on a wall. Well yeah that's realistic but, it's not the type of show I was watching prior.

So very agreed. My feelings about the show toward the end entirely.

When I started the show I couldn't stop because it sucked me in and I was really enjoying it. Through some of season three and all of four I was often just watching because I felt an obligation to myself to see it through to the end. What engaged me so much in the first two seasons was long gone, and I now felt pretty much everything Twist just described.

It's to balance out the off-topic moronathon - otherwise the forum would implode in on itself and take us all with it.

That would happen if everyone on this board were 14. But fortunately, only some of us are 14, while others are 19... Which means rather than implode in on itself, the forum would asplode around itself... and yeah, it would still take us all with it.

The fun I have in co-op seems like it would translate to SP well... but I have never really tried to figure it out.

It is just kind of a monotonous, repetitive game. In fact, it really isn't that good of a game on its own, IMHO, it is the sheer amount of stuff you can do co-op that makes it fun.

Running around killing or running from endless hoards of bad guys while heading to complete an objective would get really old. Or running around looking at your feet trying to collecting endless amounts of brains or other stupid hard to find trinkets. My fondest memories of the game are the conversations and laughs (and fights) I had with my companions as we stayed up until 3 a.m. (or once 9 a.m.) playing.

Well, I'm off to start my binge on FallOut 3.  Maybe.

Although I really wanted to have a copy of Castlevania Lords of Shadow for this weekend.  :/

NO, WONG.

No, maybes, Xhonzi! No, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow! That can wait. This is your time to tackle the experience that is Fallout 3. It is my second favorite game I've played on the Xbox, next to Bioshock. I might have to put you on ignore if you haven't found yourself at least significantly immersed in that game by the time your binge is over.

And any changes that George made, they might be controversial to about 5 people.

FUCK YOU Jim

Are we seriously that invisible? Even a popular TV show like South Park dedicates an episode to problem and it is still only "5 people"?

Their own company store sells (sold?) a "Han Shoots First" t-shit, and they included a Han Shoots First achievement in the LEGO Star Wars video game, obviously they realize it is controversial to more than just five people.

That black case rocks!  I did not even know they existed.  Good to know.

I don't think they do.  I 'shopped it.  I gave up trying to find one after I nearly reached the end of the internet looking for a company that makes them.

I was browsing the PS3 games at Gamestop one day (PS3 uses the same size case as BDs only transparent and thicker, you probably know that), and noticed a game in a black case, so some do exist. It was made out of cheap plastic though, had no BD logo, and was textured and not smooth. Didn't look very good, the fake one in your picture looks great though; hope they eventually make some that color with the logo.

It might be because the Vader scene in ROTS is actually a pretty damn good (up until the NOOOO, that is - all drama and impact flushed down the toilet in one moment), imo.

I thought that scene was ridiculous and campy from the start to finish. The guy is practically still smouldering from being burned in lava, and we slap a leather suit and helmet on him and in a matter of minutes he is as good as new and walking around again. Stupid.

Contrast that to much more realistic, far better paced, and less clumsy OT scenes such as Luke in the bacta tank after being rescued on Hoth, or the scene where the medical droid is calibrating Luke's prosthetic hand. But 20 years prior a triple amputee with life threatening burns just has to have a bunch of robots pop a suit on him in an overly campy scene, and he is all better. That scene is an excellent example of everything that is wrong with those horrible films. That said, in all of its ridiculousness, it is one of the better scenes in the entirety of the PT.
