Will TV's mom find out 3PX is being unfaithful? Tune in next time,

AS THE DEATH STAR TURNS.

I haven't been unfaithful to her yet! Well, I have... I mean... my future self who traveled back in time and father you has, but I, present me, hasn't.

Oh man! This is exciting! I think Ziggy is proof I eventually get this confounded contraption I've been working on to work.

I swear this thread is recreated every six months or so.

I unfortunately have an evil twin (usually typing his name as DarthEnder, while mine is usually darth_ender), and surprisingly we have similar interests.

I KNOW, right? That IS a shocker. What are the chances the other guy who uses the name DarthEnder would be into things like Star Wars and Ender's Game as well? Crazy coincidence, that!

;)

Actually, it's possible.

My alchoholic father liked Flogging Molly and had a beard.

AS THE DEATH STAR TURNS.

The beard has been tossed. I've only loved Flogging Molly for a few years now. And I have yet to become an alcoholic...

Wait a minute! Your dad wasn't also a time traveler was he? Because I am an aspiring time traveler, and the more you talk about your mom, the more I like her... only issue is you tell me I am too young for her... See where this is going yet?

Where is all this Indy IV love coming from? I couldn't stand that movie! I seriously barely made it through my first and only viewing of the film. Like Captain Solo described, it was a very stressful viewing experience. What I always liked about the later two Indy movies is that they are just fun, stupid, mindless adventure movies. Should be able to just sit back an enjoy them, but as your siting back trying to enjoy it, Indy IV would occasionally ball up a fist and sock you in the brain. Once you adjusted to this new level of unbelievability or came to terms with a really dumb new bit of the plot and were able to start enjoying once more, it'd do it to you again! The whole movie was like this.

Better than the prequels? I'd rather watch all three in order than ever have to suffer through a viewing of Indy IV again.

 This.

I'm amazed by how much you remind me of my mom.

I know, it is weird. Maybe she and I were made for each other.

Ziggy. I AM [suppose to be] YOUR FATHER. Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

Which Batman film is your favorite?
Time

I think I am with Xhonzi on the cartoon thing.

As far as live action goes, Batman Begins is by far my favorite. I really wish they would have ditched the dumb Bat armor though. The bat armor and the voice are the two things that consistently bug me about Begins.

If they could capture the feel of the cartoons in a live action Batman movie... my life might just be complete.

I really need to play Arkham Asylum. PS3 or 360?

Had to skim the thread to figure out why I was being accused of being full of shit. When I got to Fink's nomination and the thread he linked to I really literally actually LOL'ed for real.

Can't believe it has now been a whole year and a few days since I ceased the common human practice of defecation.

Not sure you took my comment as I meant it. Was making another Ziggy age joke.

I just thought the comparison of Stand By Me, which is definitely not a kids movie, to Sandlot, which is very, very much a kids movie, was kind of humorous.

I guess it is because of they both have an adult narrator recalling events from his childhood.

I really like Stand By Me, by the way; never cared for Sandlot at all though. To me it was just another kids sports movie.

Well, I really hope you guys don't hate it.  I don't want to be responsible for you guys losing ten bucks.

Fortunately, I just moved to a magical place where movies only cost five bricks. A buddy and I went to see it earlier today and we both loved it.

Kind of funny you used the Batman Begins comparison, because I likened it to BB myself when my friend and I were discussing it after.

It was actually a really slow moving movie, but I never found myself bored for a second during it. I really thought the CG monkeys would bother me, but they really didn't. Some of the best CG animals I have ever seen.

Dark Knight Rises - Now that we know the cast
Time

Upon first hearing Catwoman would be in it, I began having my doubts. Now that it is Ann Hathaway and we have pictures of her... it feels like we've successfully made our way out of the realm of the cool realistic Batman Nolan brought us, back into the territory of dine a dozen kitschy superhero flicks. What made Batman Begins so great was that it was the farthest thing from this that most of us could imagine. Some elements of the Dark Knight seemed to be traveling back in this direction, but now it looks like the trip has ended.

Why do movies seem to do this? With James Bond we went from Casino Royal, which was a great new direction for the franchise, then by Quantum of Solace we are already halfway back to the campiness of the early Brosnan films.

What are you reading?
Time

I don't like rereading books. The way I see it, there are more books in the world that I want to read than I will ever have the time to do in my lifetime, so why waste time reading the same one twice. If I do happen to read a book a second time, it is because it is years and years after I last read it and suddenly find myself remembering how much I enjoyed it.

I read American Gods by Neil Gaiman back in January on my Kindle; I was in a used bookstore the other day and found a really cheap trade paper back copy... and now I already find myself feeling nostalgic for the book and getting an urge to reread it. Never read a book twice in the same year before, maybe this will be the first.

The flash side-ways were really the only good thing about season six, IMHO. The problem for me was with the island storyline, and the final explanation of the true nature of the flash-sideways. Since Sunrep's plan is to simply cut out all the flash-sideways and along with parts of the island storyline that connect to them, I don't think it is going to fix what I didn't like about season six.
