I found the world to be a lot smaller and less diverse than FO3's. Anyway, it sounds like the bugs are about as fixed as they are ever going to get, so aside from revisiting it for the DLC, I can't imagine I'll be spending much more time exploring the original game. Even with the whole thing installed on my hard drive (which do speed it up a great deal) we are talking about load screens ranging in the minutes rather than the usual expected seconds range. I just don't see that as acceptable for a modern game, especially one that requires loading so frequently. It was hard to be impressed by the Vegas Strip when it takes no less than four load screens to walk through the whole thing.

This thread is disgusting.

Only read page one, so hopefully it gets better and evolves into a bunch of immature jokes (because that would be a massive improvement), but I am not even going to keep reading to find out.

Hard to tell if the thread was made for trollish provocation, or if it was actually meant to be a white flag. I get the impression it was intended as the later but came off to most (and thereby deteriorated into) the former.

Just to insert my two bits, having been around DJ on this forum for quite a long time, I really do believe he was going for making peace here.

But goddamn, does Bethesda need to work on releasing games that aren't glitchy as all hell.

I wish you hadn't of said that, the new Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is coming, and DAMN does it look GREAT!

I was excited about the new Elder Scrolls too, but now I am not even sure if I even want to mess with it until it is out for at least a year or more. New Vegas was released in October, patches were released immediately to fix glitches that allowed people to get infinite money, yet the game breaking errors didn't get fully patched until the middle of December (conveniently just a couple of days before the first DLC was released, interesting...). Here we are in March and the game can be bought brand new for $29.99. Would have probably been a much more enjoyable, and definitely far cheaper experience if I were just buying the game now.

However, to be fair to Bethesda, Fallout: New Vegas was developed by Obsidian and just published by Bethesda. Since Skyrim is actually being developed by Bethesda themselves, maybe it won't be as bad.

Been playing a lot of Fallout: New Vegas in my spare time.  Love the game, it's incredibly addicting, and improves on Fallout 3 in all the key ways (honestly, to me, it's more of a true Fallout 3 than the "real" one was).

But goddamn, does Bethesda need to work on releasing games that aren't glitchy as all hell.  Damn game freezes on me all the time - I get very nervous every time I'm traveling a wide, empty stretch of wasteland - it's frozen right when I got to where I was going before, necessitating a system restart ... and meaning I needed to start back from where I'd originally left and do the whole long walk all over again.  Ugh.

You're playing the PS3 version, right? The 360 version is even worse! I had to shelf the game and wait for a patch to be released over a month later before I was even able to beat it because of that dumb corrupt save file error the 360 versions suffered from.

Load times were so slow (hopefully the PS3 version was faster) that it really hindered my desire to want to explore. In Fallout 3 I wanted to go over every crook and cranny with a fine toothed comb and pretty much did, in New Vegas I'd see a shack nearby and walk right on past, even skipped over whole settlements, just because I knew I'd have to wait over a minute at the loading screen every time I walked through a door, and that was only if I were lucky enough for it not to freeze on me.

As excited as I was for New Vegas and for as much as I could have really loved it, I was ever so happy to beat the game and shelf it for good. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. If I ever get in the mood for some more Fallout in the future, Fallout 3, not New Vegas, is the game that is going in my console.

I am sure I am not being fair to the game's content, but I honestly didn't get to see all that much of it. When I feel like I am spending more time waiting at the load screens, getting up to restart my Xbox from a freeze, and waiting for everything to reload than time actually playing the game, it is really hard to feel motivated to play it.

Since then I became painfully aware of laughter tracks especially canned laughter and while some shows survive it and even turn it to their advantage most of them would I believe work better without it.

Totally agreed! One reason I have a hard time getting into just about any sitcoms. When did this lame idea come about that we need ques to tell us when a part in a show is funny? Sure, I get that it is simulating being recorded in front of a live audience, but as far as I am concerned, when shows actually are filmed in front of a live audience, mics shouldn't be directed at the audience anyway.

No, I have faith bleedspeed CAN spell and CAN edit. Bleedspeed just makes no attempts to do so, I suspect, out of a desire to be annoying and waste people's time.

I only read this post up to the point where I crossed everything else out, because it literally hurts my head to try to read it. This thread, since you decided to post it in off topic, is the first I have seen or heard of you, and I must say I am already highly anticipating your banning. Why? Must be because I am a hateful person who loves to see newbies get trashed on, right? No, I am pretty much a newb myself when it comes to the tech stuff and don't know how to do a fraction of the things some of these guys do. It is because I have only read two of your posts and all I have seen of you is drama and whining.

Way to make a good first impression to the Off-Topic crowd! Welcome to the forum, and if your every post is going to be this drama hungry and self obsessed, I must say I hope you don't plan to stay long.

Woooo! For a long time I was proud of the fact that no less than three members had my quotes in their sigs... though not so proud of the fact that two of those three quotes held typos... I really need to start proof reading my posts...

Maybe I need to start posting in the SW section again to inspire more members to use my quotes. ;D

then we could help you make a free account (which should give you at least a month of Gold so you could play online). Might be fun, if you have the time, busy father and so forth.

I have at least two or three 48 hour subscriptions lying around. Those could be handy.

Fink, stop being a bum and buy a 360! They are just barely over $100 these days, set a little aside each month and you'll have enough for one in no time.

Games like Halo 3 and L4D2 can be found used in the under $10 dollar range these days.

Sounds like you need to buy a 360 so you can discover how unbelievably amazing it is to (trying really hard to keep this last bit from sounding dirty, rewrote it like ten times, came to the conclusion I am going to have to avoid using the word "play" at all costs) game with me.

You didn't get to play with the O'Fives either, they are even more mind bogglingly amazing than me! Pity you'll never get the chance since you don't intend to buy a 360... talk about a life wasted...

Is it in bad taste to invest extra funds I may have by buying stock in the Japanese stock market? The market is low now, and I felt that buy buying now I am helping boost confidence in the rebuilding effort to come. I have already made a donation to Red Cross.

If everyone starts buying those stocks, then the price will go up and therefore the Japanese way of life will get back to normal faster.

It's probably as effective a use of your money as any charity you could find, in my opinion.

100% agree with Xhonzi here.

It is inevitable that eventually California will get another very big earthquake at some point in the future and I am sure Americans will demonstrate dignity when that happens.

Actually, it is extremely lame, but Americans tend to do a lot of looting in disaster situations. It is part if the American dream.

I'd have a hard time seeing modern Americans maintain dignity in face of a disaster. Life is too easy here. Gas goes up a few pennies and we throw fits about it.

From what little English language news reports I've seen, it looks like they're just trying to scare the crap out of everybody (fear sells and all that).

I have been getting that impression from my room mate's brother too (who, as mentioned earlier in this thread, lives in Japan). He has exhibited similar sentiments to you and said he has no intention of leaving his friends and his Japanese fiance and her family to flee to America. American media tends to be really sensationalist. Like you said, fear sells.

Also, sounds like they are doing a hell of a job keeping those power plants contained.

So the two situations aren't comparable.

But they ARE comparable in that one is an idiot with rightish ideals and the other is an idiot with more leftish ideals and they are both saying dumb shit that is accessible to the public. I think they should be allowed to do so on their soap box of choice. What Warb said is invalid, that is the free market and has nothing to do with freedom of speech. I am glad they can say whatever dumb crap they want to say, but I don't want/need to hear it.

I really hate that this discussion is taking place in this thread, too. Really isn't the place for it. If anyone feels the need to continue this would be a valid moment to made a new thread or to bump the politics one.
