She found the ship and I think the flight simulator was in there as well. So with that being said there’s nothing wrong with any of this.
The key thing that people miss is that Unkar Plutt raised her on Jakku. She hasn’t been on her own the whole time. I imagine growing up she was a sort of servant to Plutt, working for him (on ships and such, which is why she knows so much about the Falcon - his ship) until she was probably 18 or so and then had to fend for herself. Would be smart for him to teach her to know the ways around a ship so that if he needed repairs he could just get her for dirt cheap.

I will say, so little back story was explained, that i guess you could either go the accept it for now route, which some of us are taking, or you could go the ‘it isn’t all explained therefore it is dumb’ route, which a few others are taking. Since it is a story, i choose the ‘accept if for now’ route.

And to add now, I haven’t seen this movie since I was a kid. It just brought me to tears. And I must say the added scene in the signature edition is well done and a good addition. Apparently they didn’t have time and/or budget to animate it before but it was in the original storyboard. What George said about the OT except actually true here.
Lol even the special edition bd of the Iron Giant gives you the option to watch the theatrical cut, but we can’t get the same courtesy from Lucasfilm.
I have to say, if Lucasfilm “stole” some of the ideas from the restoration/preservation forum, I’d be thrilled.

Honestly, I’d take a new transfer of the SE. I wouldn’t be thrilled about it if it wasn’t released alongside the OUT, but I’ll support anything that results in that awful Lowry master being retired.
I think a home release of that in the absence of an OUT is unlikely. There’s not enough AV nerd Star Wars fans out there to make it worthwhile. Your average fan isn’t going to buy it if they already own the box set.

I honestly can’t fathom why 20th C. Fox would give a shit at this point. Sure, they’re mad they couldn’t bid on Lucasfilm, but you’d think at this point they’d just want to make as much dinero as they can before their home/theater distribution rights expire, which is a quickly approaching inevitability.

Yeah, I always hated the way anyone could become a goddamn general in this franchise without being a commissioned officer/having any military experience beforehand.
Yeah, it’s almost as if they’re a ragtag band of rebels rather than a well-organized military with an established and stable hierarchy.
The surprising part of the trailer (for me) is the huge space battle. We really need a good space battle: TFA space battle wasn’t very imaginative, TPM’s was too short

I think what’s confusing us is that we all find the new poster to be more, not less, Star Warsy than previous Rogue One posters released.
