Yeah, poor Abram's rep is really hurting right now... for some reason I am not worried about the guy. Almost every movie that comes out sucks, and the directors still find plenty of work. When Hollywood burns you is when you go over budget. As long as you make crappy movies within your rediculous $150 million dollar budget, then you are in good shape. Just ask Ridley Scott and Terry Gilliam. Two fantastic directors who were blacked marked by over budget. Don't worry about J.J., he'll be fine. And as far as the later seasons of Lost being drivel, I felt that about the first season, it was during season two when I started finding it interesting. It is a hell of a lot better than anything else you'll see on network television these days. Once Galactica finishes I might as well sell my TV.

I Am Legend
Time
Matheson (the writer of I Am Legend) actually tries to demythologize the vampire by allowing his character to theorize that the germ which has just wiped out the entire popularion of the world is the same responsible for the creation of the vampire myth. So the book learns towards the scientific aspect of the vampire rather than the supernatural.

I am no fan of the vampire genre, but this is one of my favorite books. My favorite aspect of it is the idea of being the last man alive, which is a really frightening idea. That is one thing I liked about the trailer, I loved the scenes of New York over grown with plant life.

I find it strange you ask that question when you would have clearly had to have read my first post to have read that I consider it perfect. Just in case you didn't quite get what I said, I shall quote myself. "It is a fairly short book, but impressively written and played out. From the opening line to the final words, this is one of the few books I consider perfect. Perhaps the one thing about it I did not like was the fact that it had to end, but on the other hand its brevity has a certian charm to it. When I first read this book it reminded me why I liked science fiction in the first place."

And obviously since I mentioned it being a sci-fi book and a vampire novel, yes, it does take a sci-fi turn but not by the end, by the very beginning. In fact it does not so much take a sci-fi turn as it actually is sci-fi through and though.

If you think I am exaggerating on how good this book is, take a peek at amazon.coms user reviews of the book, the vast majority of them are a full five stars. This book was written in the fifties and it for all practical purposes the father of the survival horror genre. As I said in my second post of this thread, it has influenced zombie/vampire films from Night of the Living Dead all the way to 28 Days Later. Its a good book.

Any one else ever read this? I read it last month for some light reading and really found it entertaining. It is by no means a master piece of literature, but if you like Bruce Campbell it is definately worth a read. The book does go way over the top at parts though, from the beginning you might even be able to wonder whether the events of the book really happened or not, but before long Bruce makes it very obvious that it is all just for fun. I nearly choked to death laughing during the part where Jack Nicholson talks about wanting to make a third China Town film.

I am lucky I started watching the show late. I am still working my way through the first half of season two, I imagine by the time I make it to the end of season three it will be about time for season four to start airing.

Hmmm, no one got my topless Starbuck joke.

Warbler got banned
Time
No, not really back yet. Just had a chance and thought to check in real quick and found the place was going through another interesting time. Anyway, glad to see Jay banned Warbler, I liked the guy, but the fact that he is making his own forum proves to me what I already knew, the guys a total biscuit and doesn't play well with others. It is pretty retarded when you leave every forum you become a part of. It should not surprise any of us that nearly everyone (if not every one) who left "this shit hole" to go to FE.com (and this is not in reference to the ones who have participated on both forum, just the ones who tried to burn their bridges to OT.com) has already had a falling out with FE.com and either come running back to OT.com, disappeared completely, or, as Warb is doing, making his own forum so he wont ever have to leave it and can just simply ban people when he finds them in disagreement with himself. Shows you what kind of people these guys are. Getting along takes an effort on both sides. If one of the sides is not willing to co-operate then there is no hope. A word to the wise, don't become too proud of yourself. No matter how good you are, you're not that good.

The end has arrived
Time
I hereby declare this site uninteresting. I've already gotten everything I need from here, and now I'm happy. Therefore, I leave you now and go back to where I truly belong!*

Seriously, I am sick of this place. I am tired of the lack of conversation. I am tired of talking to people who sometimes disagree with my political views (my views are the best, why would anybody disagree with me?). Tired of panzies thinking the PT are good movies. Tired of people not giving me much attention (hence the goodbye thread).

Anybody who wishes to follow me to my new forum (with my own new forum software, no wait required) at the url www.originalfaneditedfanedittrilogies.ru (<-- it was just cheaper in Russia).

Any of you crackers who don't follow me to my new thread... you suck and were never a good poster anyway! I have already decided that everybody who moves to my new forum will be labeled "the important people" and the rest of you will just be filler.

So, I guess this is it guys. Fairwell! Smell ya later losers!!!! HA HA HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!

Uh, sorry about that. Zion, please don't club any baby seals.

Actually, for the next couple of months I won't be able to get to a computer very often, so my posts will be limited or possibly non existent during that time. Just thought I would let ever one know, rather than just blink out of existence. Also thought I would have a bit of fun while I was at it . Take care guys, be back before you know it, don't go anywhere without me.

National Police Week
Time
This thread has been enlightening to just how little respect people have for police. Pretty sad. It only took until the fourth post before somebody said "f*** the police" that was nice (and yes, I get the song and album reference, still innappropriate. Hopefully brikhaus was the only one laughing his ass off on that one).

Anyway guys, ferris, I appreciate what you do everyday man. WES, I appreciate what you dad does everyday. GhostAlpha, I appreciate your familiy member who is an officer, and I appreciate that you have decided to go into this line of work yourself.

I don't know any of you guys personally or your families, but I have known a decent number of police officers, and I know some of the sacrifices you and your families make. There is a lot of crap we as the general population don't have to go through thanks to Police Officers. If one happens to pull you over and give you a ticket, or arrest your brother for dealing drugs... well... get over it. No reason to hold a grudge.

Do the Jedi steal children?
Time
Because if Plegius didn't create Palpatine, then it just muddles everything. I believe it is a Sith's duty to create their apprentices by ill means, while Jedi go and ask permission if they can take someones child or not. Obviously the Jedi were unaware of the mystery of the Sith (Windu mentions the mystery once, but the reason it is a mystery is because the Jedi don't know what it is). The mystery of the Sith is their manner of using the force to make women pregnant, then manipulating the lives of their child in order to assure that they become their apprentice. Even the apprentice doesn't know this is the case until they reach a certain hight of enlightenment and realize they must sire an apprentice of their own. This is why, with out a doubt, we can be sure Pleguis created Palptine, and Palpatine created Anakin. Also, it is essential to the Sith apprentice that they see their master as a father figure and a moral example. In this way the Sith master can properly corrupt his apprentice to be truely twisted and evil.

Do the Jedi steal children?

Oh come on, why would it make more sense for Plegas to have conceived him? Remember that scene from Star Trek Nemesis (terrible film) where Picard's clone tried to mentally rape Diana Troy? I imagine Palps would be the kind of guy who would pull things like that through the force. There are probably all these mothers going around wondering how the hell they got pregnant. Yeah, I don't even doubt it anymore. Palps is Luke and Leia grandaddy. It just makes sense. How could Darth Plegasus be Ani father when we never even met the guy. Here is my theory on the genealogy of SW.

Darth Plegis, the father of Palpatine
Palpatine, the father of Anakin Skywalker
Anakin Skywalker, the father of Luke, Leia and C-3PO Skywalker
Luke and Ledia Skywalker, the parents of Han Solo (NOTE: I have a very complicated theory of how this is possible, but it is far too complicated to explain here. To make a long story short let's just say that it involved a whole lot of alcohol and a time travel device...)
Han Solo, the father of Jacen, Jenia, and Anakin Solo, as well as Padme Nabre (<-- much like his mom and dad, in his younger days Han liked to use time travel to make sex more exciting. Again, this is just a theory, I have yet to run it by George, but I have no reason to doubt he will give it his Skywalker Ranch Stamp of Canonicity. So, don't be surprised if you find the officially licensed SW comic series Han Solo's Adventures in Time Travel in your local adult book store within the next couple of years).

Oh, and just in case anybody was wondering, The three Solo siblings went on to invent the astometric droid. Unfortunately, nobody liked them because they resembled garbage cans and had no voice boxes, with their only means of communication being annoying little beeping sounds. Only one of these droids was ever sold, before the Solos went bankrupt and had to sell the rest of their stock for scrap metal. The one droid that was sold, was sold to a group of pan-dimentional beings who lived outside of time and space. These beings were called the Znignies, who you may remember as the inventors of the Wookie™. The Znignies, who were known for their marketing skills, reverse engineered the astrometric droids, reproduced them in an abundance, and used their marketing magic to sell the things some hundred years before Jacen, Jenia or Anakin Solo were born (this, in order to avoid a potentially messy lawsuit). The things sold like hotcakes. Though it was not the intention of the Znignies, it just so happened that a hundred years before the Solo siblings were born, people thought beeping robots were quaint rather than annoying. As you can imagine, this helped sells considerably. In hindsight, one could say it is ashame the Solo children didn't use their father's time travel device (the very same one he used to conceive their long lost fourth sibling, who inccidently ended up being their grandmother as well), which was now just in a corner of the garage collecting dust, to go back in time one hundred years to sell their droids and become rich themselves.

So as you can see, the whole Universe is a very tiny place, revolving around the planet the farthest from the bright center of the universe, and a hand full of people, all starting with one man, named Darth Pegasus or Pleguis or something like it...

Well, I think Palpatine DID create Anakin. It makes perfect sense actually. One day Palps was visiting his buddy Jabba, and he saw this hot chick and impregnated her with the force in some kinky kind of way. Many years later when he meets Anakin (circa. 1999) he realizes that it is his son, and that is why he says "I will be watching your career with great interest." Makes perfect sense.

Oh, the spoiler you mentioned isn't even speculative, though you may have heard it that way through second or third hand information. A guy claiming to have seen both Greatest hits and the finale gave a review for both of them summerizing and highlighting what happens in them. So far his summery of Greatest hits was spot on. So it stands to reason that he might very well have seen the finale as well. I just hope it is fake because many of the things he said happen, especially the thing Ringo named a possible spoiler, are just plain retarded. I am hoping he had only seen Greatest Hits (which is why he was spot on with it) and that he made up everything about the finale.

One way or another, next week will be interesting. Can you believe we have to wait until Feburary to see the next episode though?

Ringo, I read those spoilers/foilers too. I am really thinking they are completely false. They were dead on for Greatest Hits, but I am still really thinking that the finale spoilers are false. If they are true, then this show is really going downhill. Some of the things mentioned in that spoiler would be just retarded. Also a lot of things said in that spoiler contradict things the producers told us would happen next season. For example, they said Naomi would play a big role in season 4, but the spoiler said she is going to be killed. There are other contradictions too. Anyway, I hope it is false. It leaked the very day after the editing of the finale was completed, it would be really retarded if ABCs security is that bad.

At anyrate, I don't think it is so good to post spoilers here, I think a good deal of the people here that watch like the surprises. If the bit you posted turns out to be true, it could be very annoying for them.
