Sorry, my question kind of distracted from the topic. I'd post a picture of a cat to make up for it, but I am feeling too lazy to search the net for one. Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

This whole protesting at funerals is the most retarded thing I have ever heard of. I don't know where this came from, or who started the whole concept of funeral protests. It is very unchristian. Even if your belief system tells you that this guy was wrong for the things he had done in life and is going to burn in hell, what is the point of disrupting the guys funeral if he is already being punished in the afterlife? If you believe in God, then why is there no trust that he will know better than you how to judge someone? Idiots and hypocrites! They bring a bad name to anyone who considers themselves a theist. What they do they obviously don't do for God, but for their own self gratification. Perhaps it makes them feel better about themselfs. A small collective of pathetic little men and women with no self asteem, Fred Phelps sure has an impressive little group of followers. Sorry to quote scripture, but it just feels appropriate.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
For in the same way as you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

The legendary "Starkiller Ranch" Thread

My only issue with you being here is... WHAT THE HELL are you doing here anyway? These guys just want to have a complete SW saga that fits together. They don't plan on major changes (such as covering them with salt so they taste like peanuts), just a snip of a line here and there to remove ideas that George forgot to include in his PT. Most editing will take place on the PT.

Why do these things concern you so much? I appreciate your interest in this community and the things that go on here, but you are coming off kind of strong. If you don't agree with a project or don't like what it is trying to accomplish, simply move along and pay no attention to that project. If you think you have constructive criticism that is worth mentioning, or some of your own ideas to suggest, then you are more than welcome to it. Right now you are coming off a lot more destructively than constructively. You shouldn't feel the need to go into every thread and say, "Why in the world to you want to do that?" If you are happy with a movie the way it is but others are not, let them do what they will do to make themselves happy with it.

"You guys realize Star Wars won the OSCAR for editing?"

Of course we know that. And I agree with what you said about editing SW. I think it is about as perfect of a film as there ever has been. That isn't the point of what these guys are trying to do. Sometimes it is much wiser to close our mouths and listen than it is to speak up, or in the case of a forum, to stop typing and read. I suggest reading the first pages of this thread. Maybe then you will see better for yourself where these guys are coming from.

Blade Runner: The Version You've Never Seen Before (Update: Beta Released)
Time
If you watched that documentary on the workprint disc, they talked about pulling the reels of film out of storage and there were several slats stacks up high with film canisters all containing footage from BR. I'd imagine that out of all that there would be a good deal of filmed footage that was not used. Even if the farm scene was filmed, I don't suppose it is likely ever to see the light of day. The fact that it was not in the movie to begin with shows they either scrapped the idea before they filmed it, or they filmed it and decided that they didn't quite like it.

Wow, that doesn't sounds healthy. Playing games with the inner workings of your mind like that for the sake of a role in a movie is pretty extreme. It certianly wasn't necessary to take it that far.

Should have General Grevious been a reconstructed Darth Maul?
Time
Personally, I think General Grevious should be George Lucas having entered his own creation and bent on destroying it. If Adywan can do what he did with his Revisited edit, then surely it is possible to pull this off. All we have to do is digitally replace Grevious with George, or paste George's face over Grevious', or put a beard and fannel shirt on Grevious or something along those lines, then we leave everything else about Grevious as it is. Once this is done, Grevious' character would suddenly made perfect sense. I do think it would be good if we could find some one to redub each instance of the name "General Grevious" being spoken and change it to "General George". General George just has a more sinister ring to it.

I had always just figured those sort of things (reading memory cards, strange creatures that fit into tiny balls, aliens with monkey tails who collect dragon testicals, etc.) were inevitable when it comes to stories made by Japanese people. Nothing against Japanese people, they just have some really out there story telling. I would say Metal Gear Solid is pretty serious and plausable compared to most stories originating from Japan. You never know, there may really be people out there who possess the ability to read your memory card. For all you know Chaltab, I could be reading your memory card at this very moment.

Bond 22: Quantum of Solace
Time
That would have been great. A nice concise serious series of Bond movies all with the same actor that more closely follow the films. I like the old films, probably because I grew up watching them, but the books are a lot better than the films. As for "007 in New York", I had no idea it existed. That would be a really cool title for a Bond film, hope they use that title next.

I certianly don't see why it is the only way they can go. There is no reason they can't write original stories or even base them off of Bond books written by people other than Fleming. In fact once they finish Quantum of Solace, they will only have about one or two more original Fleming titles at their desposal that have not already been made into a film. As much as I would love to see them make a version of Live and Let Die or Dr. No that are more true to their source material (as much as Casino Royale was true to its source anyway), I just don't see them "remaking" any of the ones that have already been used for a film title. Every major Fleming book has had a film named after it so far, with Quantum Solace they grabbed the title from one of his shorter stories, which some of the old films did also.

Just looked up what original Fleming titles are remaining, we have two stories in "For Your Eyes Only" titled "Risico" and "The Hildebrand Rarity", and we have a story in "Octopussy" titled "Property of a Lady". None of those sound like movie quality titles. Perhaps Quantum of Solace is the last Bond movie to be blessed with an original Fleming title. Anyway, I had hoped they would disregard the previous films and go ahead and continue Casno Royale with an adaption of Live and Let Die, which was the original sequel to Casino Royale.

I find myself playing a lot more older games than newer games. I guess I really like to revisit the past. The games I have installed on my computer are: Red Alert 2, Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid, and a little gem called SpaceTripper. If you looked in my games folder and didn't know any better you would think the date was some where in the late ninties. Since I got my PS2 and GameCube I have been exposed to a lot of new games, which has been fun. However, the other day I stumbled across Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes for the GC and decided it was worth laying down a bit of money for. I haven't had much chance to play it yet though. But how great is that, a SE version of MGS with GC style graphics (PSX graphics really haven't aged well, give me an SNES or an N64 anyday of the week!). It seems mostly the same, but it has been a while since I played the old version. One thing I don't like is that they redid all the voice acting, with the exact same actors??? I feel the delivery of the voice acting was better in the original, and the 2D animation for the intro briefing videos was cooler than the redone ones which use the 3D models. It is nice revisiting an old classic on a new system. I would have never thought I'd ever play MGS on a Nintendo system.

Hmm, I also just noticed that there is a character named Snake on the possibly fake "Final Roster for Brawl". Would that be Snake as in the Metal Gear games? MG isn't even close to being a Nintendo property. Sure, the first one and the non-canonical second one were released for the NES and there has been the remake for the GC and a Gameboy game, but it still doesn't feel like he belong in a game where he fights against Mario and Link using pokeballs and star wands. He would also be the only character from an M rated game.

I guess I could be wrong on this, but I would think they would play it safe and keep all the old characters. People tend to get attacked to a particular character, with the first two games they only added more, they didn't take any away. Even a character as lame as Jigglypuff was put into Melee. Again, I may be completely off on this, but I think they will stick to adding characters rather than replacing.

The Dark Knight (Batman Begins Returns Again)

Reusing villians in comic films is a bad idea anyway. Just look how old the Green Goblin in the Spidey films, by the time Harry died in Spidey 3 we were all thinking "it is about time".

This is kind of a cold conversation to be having within hours of the guy having died. Obviously he wont be returning for the Joker, whether that was the original intention or not doesn't really matter. This is going to put a bit of a damper on the release of this film. Wow, it is odd to think over the past few months we have all been discussing whether or not he was the right man for the role, and whether or not he would do a good job, who would have thought he would be dead before the film ever even hit theaters.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

I feel like I am just repeated what has already been said several pages worth already, but here it is anyway. GOOD JOB, FANTASTIC WORK. I am still a purist and I can't say this is going to replace the 77 version for me, which is the only one I watch. But this is honestly what the SE and the 04 DVD should have been all along. Your changes make sense and they aren't just change for the sake of change. Too bad LFL doesn't spend as much time on this as you did. If you could achieve this, imagine what they could achieve. I like the new colors, I think I liked every change I noticed, save for the flipper. I always liked the bleeding arm, it does give the movie a little bit of an edge. But I can see the reason for removing the blood and adding a burn, but I have to agree with everyone else that the arms the way to go. I really liked the incoming fleet of tie fighters. Sure, they don't exactly match the rest of the Tie shots, but Jabba, the new dewbacks and the Rhontos never matched either. I think the tie fighters match and work just as well and better than any of the special edition additions. It would be cool if you could create some comm. chatter as a reaction. As it is everone looks like they are thinking "We screwed" and not talking so as to pay attention to their flying, which works. But if I were really in that situation and I saw scores of ties coming in like that I would be saying something like, "Guys! There they are 1 o'clock! We have incoming!" follow by a few lines of curse words expressing the fact that each and every one of us was going to die. If you really felt the need to change it and add in some exclaimations through the comm. I think it would work quite well and I am sure it would be easy enough to do. The voices through the comm. are pretty hard to place, so you wouldn't need to match it up to anyone in particular. You get it close enough and no one would notice.

Sorry, I know the place has already been flooded by a million other comments like this. I really liked it and I was very impressed. I wasn't expecting it to be anything near what it was. Did I mention I really liked the new colors? They're fantastic. I for one really liked the near monochrome walls.

Edit

Errrr... probably should have read over some of the other pages more before I posted the stuff about the ties. Just flipped a page back and saw that it is not something that is suppose to be talked about. Sorry. This thread is growing at an incredible rate, kind of hard to keep up with.

Matrix and Pirates of the Caribbean have extremely different fanbases. I can see Matrix fans not going for a lame online game, but Pirates fans range from young kids to obssessive middle aged women. I can see the Pirates fan base (you know, the ones that go to Disneyland dressed up like Jack Sparrow and other Pirates) being the type to eat up an online game hook, line, and sinker.

Wow! That is a retardedly huge number. Last I heard their were 150, I knew there were some new ones but I thought my guess of 250 was probably a high estimate.

How does that game even make sense? Are they suppose to be on earth? Or is it some other planet? Or is it an alternative reality? Do they have real animals in this world, like as in the kind you eat and raise as lifestock? How is it that they are able to squeeze into a tiny ball? Can more than one fit in a ball? Are they magic balls? Or do they employ some sort of shrinking technology? Can a person or object be shrunk and stored inside one of these balls? Does the ball suspend time? Or does the creature continue to experience time while inside? If he does can he starve to death inside the ball? What if you lost one of these balls with the creature inside and it was not found for 100 years, would it rot away in the ball? When you open it would a mess of crumbling bones fall out? Or would it come out as if it had just been put inside moments before, none the wiser of the time that has lapsed? Can they starve to death in the ball? Are there pokemon's rights activist who think keeping the creatures trapped in such confined spaces and letting them out only to fight is cruel and go around sloshing the owners with red paint? Can pokemon die? Can you make them fight to the death? Or do they only get knocked out? What was the guy who made the game smoking when he made it? You can't really answer any of these can you?

Army of Darkness - The Primitive Screwhead Edition (Released)
Time
I can't access the pirate's bay from my current location, but I take that to mean ocp went ahead and posted it.

I was very impressed with Ridgeshark's work. This is a must have for any Evil Dead fans out there. Most of the delected scenes he added back in match the rest of the film perfectly and are hardly noticeable. Some of the footage that he had to grab from a lower quality source isn't exactly seamless, but that footage looks better than most of us will have ever seen it looking before, and Ridge made it fit in as smoothly as possible. I really like the windmill scene in his version too. Also the disclaimer at the beginning as well as the menu are both very creatively done.
