So no, my interest would not be affected in the slightest.
I came to these boards around the time I first started buying DVDs and read someplace that George did not intend to release them on DVD until he could release them in a six episode saga. I had heard about bootlegs, thought to check and I stumbled across this site. I stuck around not because of any interest in Star Wars, but the whole idea of film preservation and the knowledge of film and video editing, though alot of those types are gone now, I had always enjoyed reading their discussions and debates.

Anyway, it is a good pre-emtive counter strike to all the criticism he is obviously expecting to get over this thing. I have heard too many people defend the PT by saying that the OT was too much to live up too, that is BS. Sure it will be different, but it doesn't mean it has to suck. The PT did not suffer from not living up to the standards of the OT, the PT suffered from being a series of really poorly written and executed money magnets.
Hmm, I kind of like that, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Don't Get your Hopes Up. IJatKofCS:DGYHU, when a title gets that long, abreviations just don't quite cut it do they?

While people acting under the banner of Christianity have done more than their fair share of horrible things, it is not because the Bible told them to do it.

Anyone who owns any of the old figures knows that they tend to age funny, I have a Stormtrooper whose torso turned almost completely green, a few that have turned yellow, and some that are as white as ever. My Yodas range from almost neon green to a very dark green. I am very proud of my Yoda collection, though only one of them has his jacket and belt, though unfortunaltely I managed to loose his bright orange snake and walking stick.

Quick review question: what was the Dutch film about and why did these nuts in one of the worse places on earth feel the necessity to burn a flag because of it?
It all goes into the same bucket as suicide bombers, Jihadists and the like.

Here is the catch, though many people will roll their eyes at it, the obvious is often the most over looked and the most ignored. Especially with an issue like the Middle-East, people want to ponder to therorize, and talk about social issues and types of government, the obvious answer is simply to obvious and simple to be taken into account and it tosses the whole idea of tolerance on its behind, which is a big no no. "Islam is a religion of peace!" how many time have you heard that one? It is very common retoric today. You simply don't diss other countries religions, Christianity is Europes religion, so it is fair game, but to diss any other religion is simply a blatant display of intolerance. That does not really bother me in this day and age of political correctness, but the problem with this way of thinking is that people decide it really is a religion of peace.
This is a hard one for me, I have quite a few friends who are Muslim, and I have long ago decided it would be prudent to avoid discussing religion with them, though it comes up from time to time. Most of my Muslim friends never read their Qur'an, the one friend I have who does read his Qur'an sometimes makes me nearly pee my pants on account of some of the comments he makes. He says them half jokingly, but he still manages to scare the shit out of me sometimes.
I have studied the Bible extensively, and I have studied the Qu'ran a little, I admit I have not studied the Qu'ran as much as I should, and I intend to get back into it more sooner or later.
Okay, back to the obvious answer I mentioned in the first paragraph. The religion of Christianity is based on the New Testament of the Bible, the religion of Islam is based on the Qur'an. If we want to understand the difference between the two religions, let's look at their texts.
No matter what someone believes, you will find nuts and extremists, bad things have been done in the name of Christianity, as well as in the name of science and evolution. You have people who do bad things for all sorts of reasons. Science does not teach us to do these things, neither does Christianity*. The problem with the Qur'an is that it does support this kind of behavior. It does promote hate. It is not a religion of peace or tolerance, you would be very hard pressed to make even a poor attempt at an argument saying that it is. Their behavior is not a product of their culture, so much as that their culture is a product of their religion. This is not a very popular take on the situation, so I would not be surprised if I get some pretty harsh backlash on this one, but I would encourage anyone who disagrees with me to either send off for a free Qur'an or pick one up at the local library and do some reading. It will be an extremely enlightening experience.
*the Bible never even mentions abortion, let alone calls Christians to kill abortionist, it never says to hate homosexuals, only that homosexuality is a sin, the Bible teaches us to love everyone. It condemns liars, theives and prostitutes as heavily as it does gays, yet those are the kind of people Jesus chose to hang around. If you read through the new testament you'll find that it is all about tolerance. When "Christians" behave intolerantly they are not even obeying their own religious text.

I owned MGS for my PC and I picked up a used copy of Son of Liberty last year, but it was worth buying them again for the matching packaging and Substance & Subsistence. Only things that makes this set less than perfect IMHO is the lack of the second disc for MGS3: Subsistance and the fact that the manuals are printed in black and white (which makes the pictures almost impossible to make out).

Ending up? Take a look around, I think we have already ended up a nation of pussies, and we are ready to join the rest of the "progressive" nations of the world in teaching all the little "non-progressive" countries how to evolve and become pussies themselves, thus introducing to the galaxy an entire planet of pussies. I wouldn't be surprised if our police officers were running around without guns in twenty years time.

I guess you didn't understand what I was saying. I simply meant something along the lines of instead of having the whole wall window after window, change it so there is a window every so many meters, thus cutting down on the overall number of windows. In this manner the feel of the original could be somewhat kept, while at the same time we still get a few shots of what is outside. For example in a corridor shot that has five window panels all along it, cut it down to just two panels.
Probably pointless. It is just that the amount of windows in that place as depicted in the SE has always felt a little overwhelming, and I miss the steril, brightly lit corridors of the original, though I admit they felt a little bit too closed in.

I really think this could add a great deal of depth to Empire Stikes Back, as well as to the whole saga, it also helps connect the good trilogy to the bad trilogy. It would be easy enough to film. Anakin was a pretty emotional character, surely he has to whine to someone, I don't thing Darth Vader could have gone through the gap between trilogies without partaking in a mass quantity of whining. I am sure this might not be a very popular change, but I think it would be worth staking your reputation on Ady. In the end people wont be able to hold themselves back from proclaiming your greatness.

If you end of finding you have a hard time sitting through them, I would recommend just skipping through it onto the films, or watching some of the better loved episodes and skipping over the majority, then you could always go back and watch them later. Just a thought. The series really gets at its best during the TNG DS9 era. It would really be a shame for you to grow tired of the show while working your way through TOS and TAS and never make it to the parts of the series that are really worthwhile.
Good choice on not beginning with Enterprise by the way, it really doesn't have that Star Trekkish feel of the others, in fact the first season was officially just titled "Enterprise" it wasn't until season two that they decided to add the "Star Trek" above the title.

This woman doesn't sound like a truely neglectful parent, sounds like she made a bad judgement call at the absolute worst, while there are parents out there destroying their child's lives at this very moment. Kind of a shame when we put so much effort into nailing parents on things like this they do in front of the eyes of others, while the guy who is having sex with six year old unseen by anyone manages to get away with it.

I am not giving a matter of opinion here, I don't care if it is illegal or not, you asked what happened to Editdroid and Jambe and I told you.
Anyway, I will apologise to you because I was the first one to really attack you. If you would be prefectly honest with yourself, other than me and OBwotsky, no one said anything rude to you before this thing took off. Moth3r simply said it was bad form to delete the first post, and it is, hardly anything to get your panties in a knot over. There was no mob mentality, Erikstormtrooper is hardly the type for anything like that, the poor guy really had a genuine interest in your silly edit and you pissed on him for it. Adywan was just saying how well it worked out for him here, it was just a suggestion and a personal testimony, he wasn't saying you didn't have the right to leave, he too seemed genuinely interested in your edit, and you pissed on him for it. Give people the benefit of the doubt.
Anyway, at this point you are pretty much working at trying to insult everyone on the boards, what do you say you call it a night and stop being an ass and insulting people who don't deserve it. I know I was being an ass myself, so again, my apologies.
Good luck with your project. May you live a thousand years and your beard grow ever longer.

Ah, I didn't even think of that, of course it would have his death date as the date of or around the crash, especially if he is suppose to be one of the eight that "Kate pulled out of the ocean" but who she couldn't save.
Uh, did anyone else find it kind of creepy when Hurley asked Sun if there was anyone else coming and when she responded with "no" he very suggestively responded with "good". That has got to have been there for a reason. Please don't tell me Hurley romping with the widowed Sun now.

I am expecting less attention to follow. If you read, you will see that I am considering a blog web space to take advantage of resources that are not available here. I'd like to see ONE person show me where my reasoning makes no sense.
It isn't that your reasoning makes no sense. The whole issue was that some people were interested in your project, and with your whole "moved/closed" and then the thing about knowing where to find the people that were interested and your not wanting to make the new location public knowledge except to those who contributed something, kind of felt like an "F you" to the ones who had an interest in this and felt like they were being left out of the loop. Perhaps it was misinterpreted. But you did a good deal of misinterpreting yourself, Erik said absolutely nothing other than expressing interest in knowing where to look for news on this edit in the future, and you called him and troll along with about a zillion other insults. Adywan did nothing but offer some advice and express how well this worked out for him, and you threw insults at him.
You have every right to move this, but for those people who had some interest in your project, it would have been nice to give them more information. Just because you were moving this didn't mean you needed to erase the first post. And of course you are not obligated to let anyone know, nobody said you were, they just said they think you should have. The fact that people were disappointed about what happened should have been taken as a compliment to you, the majority of edits announced on these boards people could careless about, many of them stop getting updated as the editor looses interest, and the threads simply disappear into the abyss. Any modicum of interest I may have had in this rapidly disappeared once you starting acting like such an ass to people who were being pretty nice to you. You might want to think about working on your people skills.
The reason why personal blogs have not gone over so well for fanedits in the past is that the blog is tied directly to you, you are much more in the open and much more vulnerable to the lawyer of the powers that be. Forms tend to get away with all kinds of things, but with a blog don't be surprised if you are contacted directly with a cease and desist letter. Just be sure you know what you are doing and be careful how you market this, it is after all copyright material that you have absolutely no claim of ownership to.
