The guard wakes up and reveals herself to be a stunningly beautiful elf princess.

You both live happily ever after and gain 100 Kudos points each.

We live happily ever after, until sadly, she takes 19 more damage from heavy fondling thus depleating her HP entirely. I now inherit her 100 Kudos and am in mourning.

Dude, "n" and "t" are right next to each other on the keyboard, give me a break, okay? ;)

After reading that review, I think a series of Dharma orientation videos would have been a better vehicle for explaining these unanswered questions. Sounds like they just crammed all those answers into one single video, which would be very uncharacteristic of Dharma, since their videos always seemed to try to give their people as little info as possible.

Doesn't sound like they really explained the Walt thing either, as much as they said, "Oh right, yeah, Ben did say he was special, didn't he? And he still is special! See, look at Ben telling him he is still special! We didn't forget, we planned on having Ben call him special in a 12 minute epilogue exclusive to the DVD box set all along! And you THINK we were making this all up as we went along, bah!"

Perhaps an orientation video explaining their research into ESP, which only a small percentage of the world population posses the ability for, and that it is something that has to be worked with while the brain is still being developed, would have been a better way to explain the whole Walt thing, and the whole child snatching thing at once. How it is I am able to come up with a short and concise explanation in less than a minute of thinking, but the writers of the show were so baffled by their own mystery that they just decided to ignore it and hope it would go away?

Vinyl 1965 film by Andy Warhol, based off of Anthony Burgess' novel A Clockwork Orange.

It was my first Andy Warhol film, so I didn't know what to expect. Never been a fan of his pop art, and it turns out his films seem to be just as mundane and unappealing to me.

At one hour long, it was pretty painful to sit though, but I endured. Just so you have an idea of what Andy Warhol films are like, his 6 hour long film, Sleep chronicles one man's night of sleep. Sound interesting? Well, it is nothing more than a camera watching someone sleep. Another well known film of his, Blow Job spends thirty minutes focused on the face of a man getting a, you guessed it, blow job.

So, long story short, Vinyl, which was filmed in one take, on a single set, with actors apparently chosen on the spot for their wilingness rather than their talent, was really, really, really, really awful. But what is to be expected from the man who used to "paint" using urine?

BioShock!!! (1, 2 and Infinite and SPOILERS)
Time

I was in the mood for some Douglas Adams, so I was listening to So Long and Thanks for All the Fish read by the author. I never thought very highly of the later two Hitchhiker's books, and as a result, I have only read them once. After finding a hard cover copy of And Another Thing... in my local B&N's bargan bin for next to nothing, I decided it was time to give my lesser favored installments of the "trilogy" another visit.

After all was said and done, I made it five pages or so into And Another Thing... until I just couldn't cringe anymore. Eoin Colfer tries really hard to imitate Adams and it shows, reading like someone doing a really bad impression of Adams for at least the first five pages, whether or not the torture continues beyond that point I have no intention of finding out.

Just loaded up a save and had another go at the very end and it gave it to me, I knew I hadn't accidentally used a single vita-chamber. Not sure why it didn't take the first time. Some sort of glitch I guess.

Since I had no takers here on meeting up and playing over the weekend, but still felt like playing something and yet not wanting to start anything new, I decided to load up an audiobook on my iPod (now that I am not worried about missing story details) and set out to mindlessly beat BS2 on hard. Already in Siren's Alley. Since it is the lone single player achievement I don't have for the game, it seems a shame just to let it be. Especially when I was complaining about some aspects of the game being too easy on normal (Big Daddies and Big Sisters are still cake, but groups of Splicers are a nightmare). I would have sought the challenge of getting every achievement for the game, but there are all those stupid multi-player ones. I gave the multi-player an honest chance, but never could get myself to enjoy it.

NOTE: I'm not sure what sparked the split from another place, but I would like everyone from over there to know that this is not a declaration of war or secession on my part.

Long story short, Fink declared the politics thread to "Now be about ice cream!", a ridiculous number of ice cream pictures followed, Xhonzi and Warb were having a discussion I was trying to keep up with, pages took forever to load thanks to silly ice cream pics every other post, I asked if we could tone the ice cream pictures down and spam some other thread instead, mostly everyone was polite enough to do so, but Bingo felt I was infringing on his right to spam in any thread he sees fit and decided to keep posting pictures and defend the ice cream spamming as political satire that I am apparently too daft to get and prattled on about, essentially, how silly we are to be talking about anything politically related in the first place (seemingly, I hit Bingo with this daunting and challenging request at "the wrong time of the month" for him).

And now, long after we thought it was all over, the saga continues as he decides to keep pressing the matter and makes a second POLITICS THREAD...

Fucking hell! Are you ever going to let this go and quit being an ass? The amount of time you have on your hands is truly shocking. All I did was politely ask that we tone the pictures down in the other thread because they were getting out of hand. Bingo, you went from being one of my favorite posters to me having very little respect left for you because of your immature behavior. Doubt that means anything to you and I really don't care if it does, but I figured I'd share it anyway.

You were free to do all those things on the other thread, including posting satirical images.

laserdisc player recommendations
Time

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately, I just don't know enough about LD players to give you any solid model recommendations. I can, however, tell you that if you buy one from the UK, alongside extra shipping and potential customs fees, you are going to end up with a piece of equipment that will be useless to you (assuming you live in the US). Not only do you have power differences to deal with, but a PAL LD player isn't going to be able to play any of your NTSC laserdiscs.

Not many of our old LD savvy tech guys still frequent the forum, that I know of, but either way, you might consider changing the name of the topic to "Laserdisc player recommendations" or something more specific that might catcht he eye of anyone with some decent knowledge in that department. You might also consider posting this in the "How-To's and Technical Discussions" section.
