Army of Darkness - The Primitive Screwhead Edition (Released)
Time

I've had this for a while, but just popped in to say thanks!

I own the "Official Bootleg"  Director's Cut version on DVD and, while I much prefer the alternate ending in that version, I was appalled at the video quality. For an official release, it should have looked much better.

This fanedit is what the Director's Cut DVD should have been.

Plus, in moderation it's not distracting but just interesting to watch light up and jiggle around ^^

Just like women in general ;)

I wasn't going to watch ESB again until Revisited came out, but the wife talked me into it last night. And which version did we watch? Why, Adywan's Theatrical Reconstruction of course!

I know its been said a thousand times, but it's great to see a Special Edition that respects the original and doesn't slap me in the face with its changes! Subtle yet satisfying, this new video was.

[edit] I especially liked the hyperspace jump when the rebels escape

Backstroke of the West Dubbed Version (Released)
Time

I don't want to derail this thread anymore, but just a heads up that the guy I copied Jedi for years and years ago still has it and is going to send it to me shortly. I'll make a dedicated thread once I have it in my hands and find a proper title for it. I don't remember if it's quite as mangled as Backstroke, but it was very amusing. Too bad it's just subtitles though and not dubbed :)

I can't wait to see Backstroke of the West in all its auditory glory. The clips I checked out on youtube were epic! The voices were all so spot on, except of course Yoda and Palpatine which I thought gave it just the right edge of absurdity. Kudos to whatever mad Asian overlords were responsible for this!

Backstroke of the West Dubbed Version (Released)
Time

Today I called and left a message for the guy that I copied ROTJ for. Hopefully he'll get back to me and still has the disc. My original is in Chicago somewhere and I've given up on ever seeing it again.

Fans of 'Backstroke' I'm sure would appreciate the epic struggle of Admiral Edbaby and his fleet against the forces of the empress, high above the Fire Moon. If I get ahold of it again, I'll be sure to make a thread here and pass it on.

Backstroke of the West Dubbed Version (Released)

If this could be released in the form of an audio stream synced to the official DVD video, I'd be a happy panda bear indeed!

Then it would be a simple matter of remuxing the video of the retail DVD with the Backstroke audio and subtitles and I'd be in ridiculousness heaven!

Which reminds me that I need to step up my efforts to obtain a Malaysian ROTJ bootleg with similarly odd subtitles from a person that I made a copy for. (since my original was stolen... grr....)

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Any hope of getting the original trilogy released again is over.

No, there is another. *Sideways glance at Harmy*

But seriously, once King George no longer controls the rights himself I think we will get a gloriously restored Original Trilogy. Any group that has the capacity to restore and release these classics would do so in a hearbeat if given the chance and the materials. And there's got to be enough copies of the films that have survived the purge that once the time comes it'll still be able to be done. That, and restoration technology between now and then will continue to improve. So I wouldn't say never. There's just one stubborn person holding it all up.

Unfortunately, that won't happen for many years to come. So it's awesome that we have talented people like Harmy to approximate the one true Trilogy to the greatest degree possible until that day... till all are one.

Episode II: Attack of the Ridiculousness ***NEW 14 MONTH ANNIVERSARY DVD NOW AVAILABLE***
Time

Tom Petty's "Free Falling" could play when he jumps out of the speeder on Coruscant, and you could loop footage to make him fall for a very very long time... I wonder if it could be made to look like he falls all the way down and crashes into the ground, then we could hear "I'm not dead" from Monty Python, Obi-Wan finds him back and they go into the bar to satisfy Obi-Wan's alcoholic needs.

Episode I: The Ridiculous Menace (FULL MOVIE IS AVAILABLE TO STREAM, SEE FIRST POST)
Time

So... I finally finished downloading this today, and Jdownloader was kind enough to extract it for me. Then I deleted the original archive files. Then I thought to myself "I don't need the AUDIO_TS folder, I'll delete that too."

So I deleted the VIDEO_TS folder by mistake. Now I need to redownload the whole thing.

I have failed you for the last time.

I'll download this once I get my bandwidth back from other things, but I did watch the trailer on Youstubes.

I literally had tears in my eyes during some parts. I loved C3PO's overdub and the line "I carved it from an angel"

The only thing I saw so far that I think could be more ridiculous would be to have Ric say regarding Coruscant: "The entire planet is one big planet"

But it looks very promising; can't wait to see the whole thing!

(I've wanted to do something similar with the OT for some time now, as I know the originals like the back of my head and have lots of ridiculous thoughts popping into my head throughout an average day. All I've managed are a few short videos here and there, but seeing this might inspire me to finally make my Space Madness movie)

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Unfortunate it is that these sources cannot  be shared, because a public release would likely negate the need for this project entirely.

However, I understand that the public sharing of this source would probably turn the legal equivalent of the Death Star upon those involved. And we don't want that just for the sake of our own entertainment.

You do good work, Harmy. Keep fighting the good fight :)

I have to say my biggest disappointment in this entire bluray set is the bloody arm in the cantina... I'm glad the claw thing is gone from the 2004 version... but why couldn't they fix this one little shot for continuity?

What claw thing are you referring to? The only thing I can think of is maybe the arm from Adywan's first release of Revisited before he tweaked it for his DVD release.

Although it's been a long long time since I've touched my official 2004 DVD. Is there a difference in that scene between the official DVD and Blu-ray?

Yeah, the last thing we want to do on this site is encourage piracy. With all these fan-edits being made and such, we need to be sure we are being perfectly legal with any "up yourses" to Lucasfilm.

I for one will not buy the Blu-rays, but I will not download them either. I'm perfectly content with Adywan's Revisited and Dark_Jedi's enhanced GOUT discs, all derived from the DVD set that is owned by me (but collecting dust).

No more money will be spent by me until Lucas learns to respect his own films.

I watched some of ESB and most of the track is Kershner announcing what's going on.

That's what I loved about the DVD commentary! Kershner went back and forth from narrating what was onscreen to making no sense at all. (Like when Luke gets his new hand, Kersh talk about how the audience will think 'Ah, he has feeling! he can make love.')  Bless your heart, you crazy old man :)

So, I'm very interested in reactions to the new OT. I'll rent them eventually, but I'd love to hear what people think who've actually seen the new changes.

Like the Lightsaber cores, Vader's 'NOOOOO," the Emperor's supposedly erradicated 'force slug' and so on...
