I thought I'd make the ROTJ duel a little more one-sided. You know, to show how awesome Luke is and all. Vader totally gets owned.
Let's update the dialogue.
Vader: No, I am your father.
Luke: O RLY?
Vader: YA RLY.
Luke: PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!
I discovered my wife's friend was a "Star Wars virgin" so we set up a movie night and watched ANH Revisited last night.
Her response was that it's "cute." That's a compliment, by the way. She especially enjoyed the easter eggs on the DVD-9, and was wowed by the extended Alderaan boom-boom sequence.
Yeah, I loved how they approached the Death Star, then suddenly were in Stormtrooper costumes in the detention block. And Obi-Wan's fate... or lack thereof... was interesting. If I'd never seen it before and that was my first time watching Star Wars, I'd be utterly confused.
Can't wait to see the Grande!
I made a video mock-up of an overdubbed Emperor.
Or overdub all the Emperor's lines with unintelligible ramblings from Ozzy Osbourne.
Too bad we don't have all the on set dialogue recordings. The little bit that I've heard of David Prowse saying Vader's lines was hilarious.
I always thought Kasdan was responsible for almost all of the final screenplay, as Brackett's had been scrapped.
I'll have to try and find back where I read that.
If anyone is serious about overdubbing, let me know. I can't do convincing serious voices, but I think I could do quite well for a Kung-Pow style project.
I stumbled upon this picture of what I can only assume is George Lucas' long lost brother and his family. Surely we can work them into a few scenes somewhere.
I'm lovin the background, the way it transitions from snow to clouds to orange Bespin sky to blue and finally space and the asteroid field. It basically covers all the settings in the film in a way pleasing to the eyes.

That's why R2 talks in beeps. It's his factory installed Galactic Censorship chip. Notice how no one else has the balls to swear. But R2? He's not afraid of the man.
I've considered on a few occasions playing with an "olde tyme" version of ANH. As in greyscaling it, speeding it up, adding dirt and grain, then cheesy piano music with humorously bad intertitles.
Ooh, me want. If someone who has/is getting this wants to trade, let me know. I'll have to look and see what kind of stuff I'd have that may be of interest.

I don't like the way the radio drama handled that scene. Luke sounded whiny and impatient just like in ESB, not like the wiser and more humble Luke we see in ROTJ.

I like to listen to commentaries too. Irvin Kershner cracks me up, and Bay's comments on Transformers were actually very enlightening.
I think my favorite commentary track has to be from Pain of Salvation: BE (live). The secret "real" commentary where they talk complete nonsense, like the box under the floorboards containing the organic matter that powers the keyboards.
The pink tint is due to them wanting us to see the film through rose tinted glasses.

... but srsly, I hope when he's finished he'll maybe take a couple years without the slightest mention of Star Wars and can come back to enjoy watching them, because if he works so hard on these edits that it ends up ruining the magic of watching these films for himself, that would be very sad indeed.

It could be some other kind of explosion like an additional rebel ship blowing up perhaps.
What about the Death Star's superlaser?
Since it's never really established in the film where the Emperor's tower is, it could be within view of that.
I'd bet the Emperor's inner Michael Bay would love to have a first-hand view of whatever the DS is blowing up, and it's firing away at the rebel fleet while the duel is going on.

I found it mildly amusing in the ESB DVD commentary track when Lucas seems to have a Freudian slip and refers to the Imperials as "the Nazis." I forget where exactly.
