well these are you guys' ideas. I cannot be against a fan edit. I ain't ya'lls executive producer. If ya'll need the necklace so be it. `but get this. A viewers ass will have fuzed to the chair through osmosis before return of jedi and they will be more worried about getting a spatula than whats goin on with a necklace. LOL just kidding.

One thing and I have mentioned it before that I would bring in from the PT into Jedi is that little neckless thing that Anakin made.

It seemed to me to be a Chekhov's Gun that never went off.

When I saw TPM I thought I bet that neckless will actually be used in some way to turn Anakin.

It will turn up at the scene of some disaster or in Obi-Wan's underwear drawer or something but it never happened.

So I thought it would be nice if the one thing Leia had of her mother was the neckless and she gave it to Luke on Endor when he told her he was her brother (he is asking about his mother after all).

When Palpatine is zapping Luke the thing could fall on the floor and that could be the straw that snaps the camel's back.

Otherwise it seems like a big deal for no reason, he makes the object as a little boy, Padme keeps it all her life and it presumably goes up in flames with her body after she dies.

Putting it into the last film turns a small object into a trigger for big events.

This would be cool if pulled off right, but it would require shooting scenes of the necklace being exchanged between Leia and Luke, and a shot of it falling off of Luke while laying on the floor. And the only way this could be done is in closeup shots of just their hands, since no shots of the actors exchanging anything exists. If it didn't work, it would be too obvious that these are insert shots.

Interesting, but tricky.

sorry to party poop. But, Padme was burned/buried what ever with the necklace in ROTS.

Fan editing is a pathway to many abilities that some consider..unnatural

[<( The Star Wars TV Commercials Project )>] (* unfinished project * - a host of info)
Time

Not strictly a Star Wars commercial (it had lightsabres, a dark figure in a mask and people obviously meant to be Ben and Luke), there was the advert for Refreshers in the UK which had the tagline "May The Fizz Be With You".

I haven't been able to find it though.

It was around in the late seventies.

IG-88 and 4-LOM would beg to differ with you on that one SSWR ;-)

Wait...what?

Lucas pulled the old 'let's just talk about it and not show it' gag. The battle droids have been apart of all three movies...why shouldn't they be shown shutting down? It's kind of momentous occasion right?

I was writing in response to your comment -

That dialouge from Palps explains why there are no battle droids in the OT but it goes by so quickly...I think it's important to show.

It doesn't chime with the evidence:

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I think the Bespin Officer is spot on, it would be grand to see some reflections but the colour is perfect.

Isn't it great to see that the Cloud City residents are wearing clothes fit for purpose?

Somehow between the SE and the prequels the costume department went a little OTT.

It's funny because the other day I was playing with the Yoda escape scene and I cut the Yoda line completely. This, again, is another lets-spell-it-out-for-the-audience piece of dialouge. We *know* he failed. And why tell us he must go into exile when it would be much more interesting for us as the audience to wonder where he is up until ESB.

So are you suggesting that when Obiwan meets up with Yoda and Bail the *first* time in ROTS that it *not* be somewhere in space but actually be on dagobah? Because THAT could work...

So it could be like:

Obi: my clones turned on me...

Bail: we're sending you our coordinates...

-wipe to dagobah with Obiwan landing and continue with scene on board the tantive

-continue movie as is until we leave mustafar

-no asteroid planet thingy. instead yoda and bail are back at dagobah hiding and waiting for obiwan

Bail: we'll take her to the medical station...

-medical station is now on board the tantive...which is on dagobah

Hmm?

that sounds much better, perhaps a throw away line could be made from yoda, though im not sure if it is necessary, just like 'this place is hidden from the force' or something as such to explain why they are there. the claustrophobic atmosphere of the planet should be enough to show that they are hiding. i can't stop thinking about mattes of having headlights illuminating the scarily dark planet.

i definitely agree on having yoda not mention the exile buisness. having obi wan, bail (and padme, corpse or uncorpse) going their seperate ways, will hopefully force a 'loose end' that will get tied up in ESB. it makes yodas insane chatter seem so much more dark now, thinking he has just been losing it in lonliness for 20 years!

how hard would it be i wonder to remove padme from the table? it would be cool to have her give birth outside, though a logical reason would be hard to grasp. i really like the idea of 'it is too dangerous to deliver the babies in space' dialogue.

cant wait to see the next installment of SSWR. for the record i still cant stop thinking of the bugs life clip, my girlfriend keeps on chanting it whenever it appears in the films!:P

I vote against the "it is too dangerous to have the babies in space" line: it's ridiculous (a society so advanced but they can't afford to have a baby in space? come on), it's exposition instead of just doing it, and it would obviously be there just to make sure they land on Dagobah just to tie it in with the OT. Like too many things in the PT already. I love the landing/meeting on Dagobah idea, and really really like the way SSWR mentioned it, with Dagobah kind of existing as a "Force-cloaked" hideaway for them after Order 66 and everything goes to crap.

Davnes, that's a good mockup for translating the same basic beats as the original film to Dagobah. However, if we/you are radically reduxing (ha) the Prequels, then is it an intention to try to preserve the revelations of the OT (Vader is Luke's father and Leia = sister) as much a surprise as possible? That's always been on my wishlist for every prequel fanedit, that it would create a version that I could watch with my (hypothetical) kids who had never seen Star Wars before, in numerical order, and they would feel as gutpunched as I did when I first heard "No, Luke, I am your father."

It would be epic if we could keep the Vader name from ever being applied (onscreen) to Anakin, and made it look like Vader was actually another Jedi Palpatine had turned either in the years between Ep.III and IV, or even before he took Anakin as an apprentice, with Anakin just another puppet to destabilize the galaxy or somesuch. I know I'm grasping at straws here, just kind of spitballing ideas, seeing what sticks to the wall, you know, but the point is to set up the end of ROTS in some fashion that indicates that Vader is not Anakin, and that Anakin did indeed die on Mustafar as Obi-Wan expected him too. He probably wouldn't have even made the connection himself until facing Vader later (whether during the in between period or at the final confrontation on the Death Star). The EU (and I'm not sure how much this radical redux would draw from it) has definately established that there were plenty of Dark Jedi helping out the Emperor, even beyond the "only two Sith" rule.

Also, the last ten minutes of ROTS, with it's frantic scramble to tie up as many loose ends as lamely and obviously as possible (not to mention furthering GL's landing platform fetish) absolutely grates on my nerves all the time now. Just leave some ends loose, George! We love to speculate!

The only way I can think of preserving the Vader surprise and keep the iconic Obi-Wan/Vader fight is something like this (Maul covered his face with ink but we know Vader didn't do that from ROTJ so a mask seems to make sense) :

Proto Vader

But Lord help the poor bugger who tries it.

You'd have to establish that Obi-Wan had other pupils (not just Anakin), the dreaded, "you were my greatest student" cliche' and then go through every frame of the final duel and cover Anakin up so you assume he died saving Mace (and as I said before because Palpatine is so confident of his new apprentice turning you could have him refer to Vader before Anakin's final fall).

So much hard work just to cover up George's terrible screw ups.

Sorry about the sabre btw.

I did suggest that some how it could be implied that Vader is Grievous (if Lucas had made that character a masked humanoid it would have been so much easier to do) and the otherwise stupid Sith eyes idea would have helped uphold this illusion if the General had the same eyes.

I suppose if the Tantive is to land on Dagobah it would be the ideal spot for Qui-Gon to make an appearence too (he need not speak at the same time even if he does look like he is breaking into song in this mock-up):

The medical centre is small enough to be on a ship (though a slight colour correction could make it tie in with Tantive designs).

It's a shame we can't lose the creepy midwife droids.

Vader is born out of technology but the children should have been born with human help to make the contrast more complete (perhaps Lucas was trying to make out that technology isn't good or evil, how it's used makes the difference, but it kind of back-fired for me in that scene).

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I remember when they cleaned all the soot off the Sistine Chapel and revealed all the beautiful colours, there were some people who thought it was vandalism because everyone had added the dark murky qualities into their mind map of what the piece was about.

So some of this could be just the shock of the rediscovered.

The Ady enhanced version is much better than any of the other versions.

Having Ghost Ben sitting on down in ROTJ blew all theories of him just being a floating image, that can pass through objects, out of water too (though I'd much rather have him sitting on his sofa back on Tatooine than on an old log in a redux of that film).

I'm fine with the scale it's the sticky out bit that's infront of Ben that seems to throw it for me and it's not visable in the comparison shots (and it's just one niggle in a greatly improved scene) I couldn't illustrate my point without posting an image so sorry if this comes as a spoiler of sorts, the scene is worth donating to get a preview just to see Yoda's amazingly enhanced facial movements in all their glory.

I couldn't help but notice that the background to the bonus scene was a little monochrome will this be adjusted in the final version?

The stump that Obi-wan is behind is a bit odd too (he is a ghost it might work if he is infront of it and we can see through it, perhaps? Or maybe it could be adjusted to look a little less cut around).

Ben Stump

Yoda is amazing but in long shots the Obi-Wan element seems to missing some frames (is this temporary?).

Otherwise great, great work nice to see Ben not floating in a void for the first time.
