Blade Runner 2049. It’s really good. Teal and Tangerine is really annoying though and I would have trimmed one scene a little but other than that utterly amazing. Proof if proof be need be that any sequel to a Scott film needs a good writer more than it needs a good visualist. But the visuals are astounding too. I’d give it all the balls but demand the teal and tangerine ones back.

Info Wanted: Can anything possibly be improved in ESB?
Time

Not so much an improvement but something I would like to experience as a curio would be having the unused musical cues put back and properly timed to match the scenes.
Don’t get me wrong the opening of the Vader/Luke duel works really well without the score but the unused score for the scene is referenced in the score for the cave scene, this is emphasised by the angled shapes of the corridor at the back of the cave which is similar to the cloud city chamber later referenced in TFA so I’d like to see a version with those cues returned but it might not actually improve anything.

I don’t think I agree with any of the camo-trooper talk here. I mean we didn’t really see any sand camo-troopers on tatooine, or snow camo-troopers on Ho…oh, never mind.

But in all seriousness, why make any of them camoflouged just because you can. I mean, isn’t that the kind of stuff most of you guys here hate about the SE, that Lucas just added crap because he could. Updating SFX, and correcting continuity errors etc. is one thing, but adding stuff to the movie just to cram it in there is superfluous IMHO.

It turns out, some people are okay with “special editions” after all, as long as it’s them shoving in the extra CGI density.

The prime issue people have with the many official special editions are they are now the only versions we can legally buy on current standard equipment. The most current versions are the only official ones. The other problem is that as special editions all of them have problems like adding vulgar jarring visuals and creating new continuity problems. Reconstructions like Harmy’s address the first problem. Edits like Ady’s address the second.

I’m sick and I’m tired of being broke and being useless and being alone. I want things to change – I want to move out, I want to get a job, I want to meet a lovely, vivacious, spiritual lady who will complete me – but there’s no one in my life to help me and I don’t know how to help myself. I feel trapped, isolated, and empty.

I can highly recommend volunteering in some capacity. It’s been scientifically measured with happiness tape that helping others makes you healthier, mentally and physically. It can grow skills and help you network with the sort of people looking for paid employees. You might meet that special someone doing whatever you end up doing but be wary of seeing others as your source of completion. You complete you. It’s a you that’s comfortable within yourself that attracts the interest of others. You don’t have to be conceited to be authentic and sincere. Just be and apply yourself.

It started quite innocent enough, someone with zero malicious intent put up a picture of Warb with a beard, which Warb took very personally. ABC didn’t get the extent of the upset so when he posted the Jupiter picture a few of us behind the scenes tried to convince him to take it down knowing the effect it would have. Warb is a kind hearted person. He has his own MO which took me a while to get my head around. Working around people with very diverse ways of seeing things has changed my outlook on people in general. ABC believe it or not was a similarly differently constructed mind. He privately was mortified that he had created the upset he had. It’s very sad really. He couldn’t put the lid back on once that particular bottle was uncorked. I think he accidentally banned himself in the end when Moth3r shut down the last sock.

ABC was long ago. His behavior was largely before my time, and I only knew him when he returned as a sock called XyZ. He laid low for a while, but once his former identity was revealed, he resumed the same rudeness he had previously displayed toward Warbler (I remember him making his avatar with Warbler’s face in a Catholic priest’s robes in mockery–I believe this was why Warbler changed his avatar to no longer show his face). This didn’t last long before he was banned again. I mostly know of his behavior based on subsequent conversation.

Darth Id was rude for a very long time to many posters, including me. I remember getting worked up at one point, but learned to just mostly ignore his sophomoric humor. However, he fixated on Warbler and knew he could get a rise out of him. He was always just obnoxious enough to hurt Warbler, but he was cautious not to go so far as to get in trouble. He was pretty clever, but he needed to go. I believe the new rule changes were part of that.

Generalfrevious was not rude to Warbler. He was just annoying with all his doomsday exaggeration.

ABC did contribute quite a bit to the preservation sections of the forum but yeah lots of socks. The image of Warb was him depicted as Jupiter. It was an OTT response to what Warb was saying at the time and many of us were working behind the scenes to get him to calm down and back off. I think it was the sock activity that did for him in the end.
