Thought I’d drop by with a few thoughts
I don’t mind the Morbius Doctors inclusion or the lore alterations, but I also understand how deeply upsetting it is for many fans who have grown up with the show facing a change on this scale. It’s the most sizemic we’ve had since the publication of Lungbarrow. Some believe this will go away like the half-human thing did, but I don’t personally feel like there’s a point to decanonising something of this size. Better to embrace a new idea than hold on so tightly to lore that at one point, was also pulled out of nowhere to keep the show interesting.
Jodie unfortunately hasn’t been ‘owning it’ as The Doctor all season and I fail to see how anyone is getting the impression she is putting in an effort. She is a woefully unprepared actress and Jo Martin’s Ruth Doctor acted the socks off of her in comparison. The Doctor had very little authority in this series and felt too much like a victim of circumstances. Ruth’s Doctor was in far more control of a room and a situation that she was.
But isn’t that the point. 13 has lost Gallifrey again. Had the corpses of its dead turned into Cybermen by the ‘friend’ she spent her previous life trying to redeem. Yes she has had the wind knocked out of her sails. Ruth Doc hasn’t had that yet. I still think she is the true third Doctor.

Just thoughts really but what if the “dead talking” is in the very first episode. When Hux and the first order generals are talking to the Supreme leader they see Palpatine. But it’s a ruse to generate a myth that the Emperor survived. When alone Renn sees Snoke. The final show down would be Renn delivering Rey to Smoke and Renn killing him. The Palpatine in the last film is literally a puppet to make convincing holocasts with.
Dreamt last night my family were staying at some sort of resort or hotel. And my dad died again. Often in my dreams my dad didn’t die but had a row with my mum and moved out and I visit him in his flat where he isn’t coping too well. I guess it’s anxiety, entering my 50th year. If I make it through to my dad’s birthday I will have outlived him. In the dream everyone was roughly the same age when he died last time but more stoic. I had to explain death to some random little girl and I didn’t have a photo of him.
One obvious change across the whole nine part saga would be to not name the children in part 3 so Rey could be The Other kept on ice and placed on Jakku by the Church of the Force to make another Anakin. So their Palpatine clone could turn either Ben Solo or Rey Skywalker to the dark and fight the other. Surely a church of the Force would need the dark and the light. In a world with a Jedi Master like Luke they would need a sudo Palpatine. Snoke can just be edited away. That way Leia is never Luke’s sister.
I mean, theoretically there’s 3 years we didn’t see of them trading saves.
That’s just Sir Alec Speak. Han was frozen in Carbonite for most of that time. Did he fall on Vader’s toe or something? 😁
I don’t know if it could be done but. In Return of the Jedi Han says to Luke “I owe you one” it would have worked better if he said “You still owe me one” as he saved Luke in the original Death Star attack and on the frozen wastes of Both. It would show that despite his gratitude for being saved he has retained his essential 'Han’ness, something sorely missed in this film.
Here’s an idea I had recently: We actually see Palpatine transfer Padme’s life energy into Vader, and this is what kills Padme.
This is an idea I floated a few years back. I saw ROTS again a week or so ago and it makes more sense now than it did them. How else does Sid Idios know she is dead? Similarly I thought that Anakin subdued by Vader is keeping Padme from passing onto the next life so she can appear as a ghost to Leia in the mode of Curse of the Cat People.

Hey Bingo! How severe is your (suspected) Tourette’s? I have mild Tourette’s myself (with no coprolalia), but it’s something I’ve had as long as I can remember. I imagine having it onset later in life would be rather jarring.
It varies from mild twitching, smacking myself in the face, shouting at the top of my voice (including coprolalia) barely being able to walk in a straight line. Some days alnost nothing happens. Lino cutting helps because I don’t tic at all when I’m concentrating. But then I get a bit of a bounce back. It’s possible my epilepsy was misdiagnosed Tourettes. In which case I’ve had it all my life.

Have the Death Star in ROTS have the focusing dish in the equator as in the plans. Then have the second Death Star the same. Suggesting that at some point they had to rethink the design and the first Death Star us actually a second one. And the second one is the original repurposed.

I just re-watched the original ANH:R. Loved it again. The way the scene in Ben’s hut plays is so much better. It feels so natural. It would be good to get rid of some of that flat lighting on the Death Star. Compared to Rogue One the beautiful sets look very uniform and a bit lacking in appropriate gravitas. Vader also seems a lot less menacing, sandwiched between Rogue One and ESB. JEJ hadn’t quite found the character yet. The thing that confuses me in every version is what the rebel pilots are actually doing in the trench run.
You have each pass of three fighters. A leader and two wingmen. The wingmen are doing something to give the leader time for his one shot. While turbo lasers fire you can imagine (though we see little evidence) that they are picking guns off to reduce risk. But when the fighters come in they sway too and fro which present a bit of a challenge for Vader and the boys but it does take them a while to take down the fighters. Maybe adding a rear facing weapon or having the fighters blast chunks off the trench to act as an obstacle would make that sequence make a bit more sense. Alternatively have rebels enter the trench behind the ties and have them fail to pick them off. It’s always kind of bugged me but much more this time. Good fortune with the continued work. Hope we have a change of regime tomorrow. As soon as my ship comes in I will send a donation. Money is really tight at the moment.
The whole “This place seems familiar.” is such an unimportant throwaway line that I only remember it exists because of this thread. Besides, it’s not like Luke would remember the place he was born at. How many of you remember being born?

Indeed. The opening shot is very similar to what I suggested many moons ago. Though I would have the federation ships looming large in shot and have the Queen on Coruscant talking via hologram rather than Palpatine. That way the story is linear. She need to get home to save her people. Rather than darting back and forth.
Speaking of the Queen, I’ve always preferred Padme not being the Queen to avoid the bizarre concept of an elected monarchy. I just wish I could keep the implication of “The Queen wouldn’t approve”. Is there any way to make that work?
Elected Monarchs have existed in this planet. Its not that bizarre.

Hi folks. It’s been a difficult time. I moved into just in time to be snowed in. (up to my knee) So nobody would deliver the items of furniture I needed or come to assist me fix items to walls which seriously slowed down my progress unboxing. All the while my mental health has been in flux and my work has suffered for it. A co-worker I’ve grown quite fond of is leaving and blurrrrrrrrgh! So I’ve not visited for a while. I thought I’d pop in to say hello.

The flat is now a home with only a few boxes tucked away upstairs which I will work on at my leisure.
I need to find another job as I’m finding my current one unworkable because of the distance, the hours and the fact I have to commute back to a place I associate with a lot of upset.
My tics have at times been very bad and the wonders of anxiety attacks and general anxiety have raised their heads again after a rather long pause.
Moving has been very expensive. I have almost completely wiped out my savings so add financial worries to the mix and stir but this place is amazing.
It is the most amazing flat anyone has ever lived in…ever. And I live here and I’m not being shouted at, not being ‘sent to my room’. I don’t have to suffer conspiracy theory videos 24/7 I can have booze in the house and not worry about it vanishing overnight. I can have friends and neighbour pass my threshold.
So it’s not all bad.
In fact today I’m feeling a bit optimistic. It will pass but enjoying it while it lasts 😄
