As for a Purist version, Adywan said some pages ago that there won't be any, there's no need for it. There was a Purist version of AHN because there were some controversial changes, and the case is different for ESB.

And as for the deployment of troopers in the snow I'm not sure there will be any either.

And it would have been a torture for Carrie Fischer to run with her dress on in CC corridors don't you think? :P

I don't see it as a plot hole, after all she was not gonna wear this dress while running from the Stormtroopers during their escape from Cloud City :D

I'd say they did it for reasons of "convenience".

There are some mistakes such as Han's presumably leather jacket which were corrected for the DVD, and I don't think there's anything that could be one about Leia's arms (all too difficult to correct isn't it?) and Leia's penthouse problem has been discussed some pages ago :P

But it's always good to bring some ideas like that when people run out of some :D

If I remember correctly Ady said he'd taken this site into account.

It's incredible how much bloopers we can discover in one movie :P

I like the idea to put R2 somewhere in the distance and grab 3PO. Nice sharp eyes there.

Also, about the enhance cockpit panels, that is a good idea, Ady didn't add nothing to ANH:R so i don't think he will add something now. Pity.

I saw it quite some time ago, and maybe it would be possible to add R2 in the distance grabbing 3PO, as you say. Or maybe the shot is too short to be worth modified and the idea too complex to achieve, but Ady's the boss here :P

I may have mentioned it some time ago, but I've noticed quite some continuity error during the Cloud City escape; indeed, we see Chewie sitting in the cockpit, and 3PO is visible in the background. Yet, right after this short shot, we see R2 dragging his friend on the floor, and he was not visible in the previous shot, where we should have seen him at least arrive and attach wires to 3PO or something like that.

I think it's best to imagine what Vader-Anakin is thinking at this very moment, rather than throwing us explicit things in the face.

Incorporating flashbacks in ROTJ (and this is a bit off-topic yes) would PTize the OT (which is not the goal), and I doubt this is really helpful to add footage like that in the movie. The Star Wars movies aren't movies with flashbacks and all, I think it'd be a bit out of place to incorporate footage from ROTS in ROTJ.

At least that's my opinion :D

Yeah, they fill the whole TV set with part of the picture (till 45% of the picture can be lost) and pan. Never seen P&S in Europe I think.

I'll never understand why they invented the P&S, and why people like it.

It's real good now, well done, but I did not remember the DVD shots being so dark sometimes (i.e. the Falcon in the asteroid field, or the Falcon on the landing platform)... We were enjoying a crappy image quality so blindly it seems :P

I've just watched the Purist Edition, and this is by far THE version of reference I will have from now on :P

Excuse me for talking of something completely else (while it remains about SW:R) but I'm downloading the Purist DVD-5 via Rapidshare (because there is very few seeders for the torrent), and the fact is ONE RAR archive is missing (the 14th one), and I was wondering if someone happened to know where I could find the file...

1) The very next scene after this one, you see the three of them from behind back inside a hallway again with no real segway.  It just doesn't look right.  The lighting is wrong and you get no hit that they were ever outside.  Also when 3PO is talking to R2 while on Chewie's back we see R2 in the hallway, when he should still be outside on the balcony, the lighting again doesn't fit.

2) This scene was just a spot for the Lucas' special effects team to showoff the Cloud City skyline, nothing more.

3) I remember you saying when you first started this edit you liked the tight feels of the hallway when our heroes are running and trying to catch up to Fett before he leaves.  What changed your mind?

I don't mind the balcony too much.  I just think a wall with large windows would work better.  Our heroes stay indoors, so the scenes stay consistant, but we still get to see the skyline.  As always the choice is yours.  Keep up the good work, Adywan.

I must say I agree with what Gorilla said, the idea of windows instead of balconies is interesting. And what's more I always found the rotoscoping of the characters quite ugly in this shot, but yet again the decision's all yours Ady :)
