It's a joke I hope.
Hello people,
I don't post very much around here (my first post in this thread actually), but I came across this:
I wonder if we'll learn anything new from Dennis Muren or Matthew Wood there...
My sincere condolences, I'm really sorry :(
"I never forget a pussy... cat." Austin Powers in Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery
Yeah, it does sound a little bit cocky.
Hi guys,
I know it is way too early concerning the audio side of things but I was wondering today if Ady intended to leave the copy-pasted music cue from the end of "Lando's Palace" (when Luke chats with R2 in the cockpit, right before the prison scene) during the Cloud Car fly-by (copy-pasted musical elements within a movie just to fill the soundtrack, and still it's not as disturbing as in the PT...).
I know it's not much (and I hope I don't blaspheme :D) and I can live with it but I was wondering if this short cue during these added SE shots was really necessary.
I had brought up this quite some time ago but: is it just me or did they really move the musical cue when the Falcon detaches from the Star Destroyer for the DVD so that now it begins either a little bit earlier or later (I don't remember)? I remember being shocked by this the very first time I saw the DVD, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't like this on the GOUT or even the SE :)
There won't, as he said in the previous page :)
Je crois que le mot "matte" en anglais signifie un cache en français (I think the word matte means "un cache" in French).
And Ady, I was just wondering: how did you manage to tone down the horrible glow of the sabres and to retain the original detail of the image in the overhead shot of Luke VS Vader fighting on the gantry?
But how would you fix that? I mean it would be almost impossible... And I must say that until now it never bothered me (you have a sharp eye), so I guess others won't be bothered too much by this detail :) And what would be a movie if it did not have slight continuity mistakes, all of them can't be fixed, and it's not worth it in this case I think. Just throwing my two cents :P
What's fun is that in the French dub, he actually says something: he says "À vos ordres" (meaning "As you wish").

And on the very left of the picture, isn't there a sky that should be there, by the glass of the cockpit? :P
Yep that is correct
Iti s good that in some parts wee glass reflections in the falcon and in others there are not.

Yep, I noticed that, that's interesting indeed (but adding glass reflections in all the cockpit shots would be a pain :P), but in this case should it be removed and should a starfield or whatever be added?

I assume you manage to erase 3po being behind chewie in the next shot :)
I assume is a reused or missing footage from the asteroid chase :)
See this approach too :)

yeh that's been fixed.
Have you also noticed that it's a flipped shot. Just look at the door in the background in the original shot. The lights are on the incorrect side of the sliver panel. As you can see, that's been fixed also :)
You just notice everything don't you x)
Well I don't believe this has been mentioned before (been reading the thread for about 2 years), but I was watching this wonderful theatrical reconstruction and I came across this:
If you look on the left of the picture, you can see... Lando. But was he not gone to open the top hatch? Has it been already fixed, or was it never noticed before? x)
Damnit Ady, you DID resync the music when Han detaches the Falcon from the Star Destroyer, love it :P (the DVD screwed it up)
Maybe but what about the Death Star battle? A great part of the shots have been altered digitally during this sequence, and leaving the SE CG in a theatrical reconstruction of ANH wouldn't make much sense I think. And the GOUT DVD is crappy quality...

1 - This kiss is awesome...so it stays.
I agree, it really is important to the story, it can't be removed, and removing plot elements (except maybe for... Vader's journey to the Executor :P) is not what Adywan intends to do in this edit.

She kissed him, but they weren't passionate kisses. Looked like a friend kiss to me. So Luke was in the friend zone.
Do you grab your friends' heads and give them a good three-second long kiss often?
And even if they didn't know, that doesn't make it better for the viewer. Anyways, I don't think I'm gonna win this one.
Another note: If the Empire destroys the power generator, shouldn't the lights in the base go out?
Well it's been discussed over and over, and indeed it will remain in the movie x)
Oh yeah, I love that correction, it always bugged me (I remember having told many pages ago about it :P).
And the colors are finally no screwed up no more \o/
Great Scott, you DID correct the shot with continuity error of R2 dragging 3PO \o/
The rest is just as awesome. Love it.
It is unfortunately an option, I personally grew up watching the Star Wars movies in French (I wanted the VHS in English so badly), until I could get the DVDs.
The French edition of the GOUT DVDs has got English, French and Italian audio tracks (if it helps).
I've just watched the end of ESB (GOUT version), and I noticed the changes in the music during the scene where the Slave 1 takes off. In the GOUT, the music piece ends earlier (there were some cuts in it, to make it end earlier) while in the SE the music piece goes till the very end (the close-up or Artoo).
So I was wondering if music in this scene was to be left the way it is in the SE, as it is quite good actually. Just a thought.
The AOTC Yoda looked so fake I thought, I was really pised off when I got out of the theater after I saw it at the time. Puppets forever!
And in some 36 fu***** years he hasn't changed his clothes??!! Jeez :P
