Idea & Help Wanted: The cartoon 'Kidd Video' will never be on DVD or Blu Ray, who will save it?

I’ve never heard of this, but it looks amazingly 80’s.

EDIT: Just checked, and it’s already been done on you-know-where, if you have access. The episodes also appear to be all up on the site you posted, as well.

That’s true, however the original uploader of that torrent did promise a upgrade in quote “many months from now” back in 2011, so that makes me wonder whatever happened?

The theatrical colors of the Star Wars trilogy

This just further cements the fact that LFL could have fixed every conceivable color issue for the Blu-ray, using the same master, on a budget of zero dollars and zero cents.

But that wouldn’t fit George Lucas’ originally intended artistic view 😄

I really love the latest LUT. It looks a bit modern, but in a good way.
With that said, I also love the more theatrical colours.

To be honest, I have a theory that George Lucas no longer remembers his own original intent. It helps to explain why after 1997, high quality official versions of the theatrical versions was NOT an option in any way, shape or form.

Star Wars Special Edition Trilogy Japan Laserdiscs (2000 set) (Released)

Have any of you downloaded these? I got a member over at the spleen saying the aspect ratio is off but he or she is using the screen shots vs. media info of the file to say so. I don’t even know that he or she has watched it yet and they wanna use ffmpeg to “fix” said aspect ratio.

I’m confused. LOL

I think what that member is trying to say is that the files somehow play in stretched 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the correct 4:3 in VLC.

Help: looking for... 'The Lion King' - Laserdisc & DVD Rips

I know you can find a laserdisc rip on Rutracker.

I found two there.
Search: lion king ldrip (which is an xvid avi)
-and-
lion king laser (which is a laserdisc transfer to dvd5)

I knew about the dvd5, but not of the xvid. Speaking of, I remember watching a Youtube video basically comparing the laserdisc to the Blu-ray, but I can’t find it anymore. Probably because of copyright reasons.

In other news, I found this:

Beauty and the Beast - 35mm "Help Needed" (a WIP)

Has there been any progress on this lately? Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Disney films and was so excited when this project was announced back in April and was looking forward to see the unaltered film as it was in 1991.

I’d like to as well. Over at Fanres, I need help restoring the original Swedish dub just this project. For the curious here’s a link: https://forum.fanres.com/thread-997.html

Okay, my download of the SACD-R torrent is finished.

The only problem is, how to rip it, and in what format?

Your best bet is foobar2000 with the Super Audio CD Decoder plugin installed. As for format, the best is FLAC. But make sure that you rip at 176,4 kHz and downsample to 96 kHz. PM me if you have any questions.

Yeah, but how do I convert it to FLAC?

I already have foobar2000 but I don’t know how to convert it?

Step 1: drop the SACD-R .iso file in foobar.
Step 2: highlight all tracks.
Step 3: right-click on the highlighted tracks.
Step 4: from the right-click menu, go down to Convert, wait for a second menu and choose the option with three dots.
Step 5: in Converter Setup, click on Output format and choose FLAC.

Yeah, but it only converts in 24-bit/44.1khz.

Press Ctrl+C on your keyboard for preferences, go to Tools, then click on SACD and you’ll see something called PCM Samplerate. Your best best is choosing 176.4 kHz and in Converter Setup, click on processing, choose the resampler DSP, click on Configure selected and set the target rate at 96 kHz.
