Tiny update:
While I’m still not really sure how to go about recreating the filmic look, I’ve discovered something quite valuable to the progression of this project. Before the theatrical release, Paramount released several high quality renders of stills from the movie to the marketing department for the German release of the film, to use for lobby cards and other general advertising. These were released publicly on December twelfth of 2004. Note that this was still several months before the first official home release. There is enough evidence to suggest that the movie’s palette was indeed changed to a noticeable degree, likely to more closely match the fourth season that was airing in between the theatrical and home releases. You can see this in one comparison here:

Hello everybody.
Recently, I got this idea in my head: “What would happen if I added metal covers of the Star Wars score into the movie?”. So, as an experiment, I took this cover and I synced it to the 1977 stereo mix and well, here’s the result.
Pretty good, but obviously, I need help. Why? Well, because I feel like there’s not enough covers on YouTube for one movie, let alone the entire original trilogy (and before you ask, yes, I am planning to do metal editions for the original trilogy), but if any of you play in a metal band or know somebody who plays in a metal band, you could help out by filling in the missing gaps. And rest assured, you will be fully credited once I get that far in development. As for me, I’ll be in charge of mixing the sound. For video, well, let’s say that the final mix will be GOUT-synced, but for now (at least for episode 4), I’m using Team Negative One’s preservation (as you can see in the preview linked above).
Any help with this crazy little project of mine will be wonderful. Help me, originaltrilogy.com. You’re my only hope.

Yeah, it’s very interesting (to me, at least) to see animated movies getting a separate dub in the UK. One example is the Pixar movie “Cars”, because in the UK (and presumably Europe, because I don’t own neither the European/UK DVD nor the European/UK Blu-ray), they got Jeremy Clarkson of BBC’s Top Gear to voice Lightning McQueen’s manager Harv. As for Ice Age 2, however, I think your best bet is to look at the UK DVD release. If you’re lucky, you might even find it on the UK Blu-ray release.
