Just taking a brief peek now that one part of disc 1 is finished, I always forget how much better stuff looks in motion than it does in screen captures.

I kind of like that the station watermarks were kept. I've only seen the Sci-Fi/USA cut of the movie (not even the theatrical cut), so it's interesting to see where certain scenes came from.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong on step 4, but this isn't coming out very well. I'm deviating from the guide a tiny bit, and keeping both English audio tracks and subtitles, but I don't see how that would be screwing this up...anyway, I can't get PowerDVD to run it properly.

I've got VIDEO_TS.BUP and .IFO, and I've got VTS_01_0.BUP and .IFO, and VTS_01_1 through 5.VOBs.

VIDEO_TS and VTS_01_0 will just play the first chapter and then quit, or quit if I click "next", even though it's reporting 51 chapters.

Maybe I'll just start over and see if it does it again.

Edit: Okay, that fixed it somehow. Only thing I did different is I imported the chapters before I set up everything else, instead of afterwards. Heads up for anyone else, I guess?

You know, it's kind of funny...I don't even remember why, but the other day I had this urge to check the forums, and bam, the Waterworld extended cut is finished, and I'm just in time for a brand new torrent =)

If only everything in life was like that.

Yeah, it seems like by the time we get more than 0.5 seeders, everyone will have finished at the same time.

I've got ~60 hours remaining right now at 77.4% =/

This may or may not help, but most of the extended TV scenes are on the special edition DVD. I'm pretty sure the cheesy narrations aren't on it, though.

I could be wrong, but I believe the first movie was unmatted when it was shown in fullscreen. Dunno about the second movie. I watched my VHS last night, it didn't look pan and scan...not to say that I wouldn't prefer the original ratio.

Just did a double check, all that comes up on DVD Aficionado in any region is the first movie and a few sets of the television series.

Come to think of it, on the subject of cheesy 80s sword flicks, I've got an old VHS of a movie called Quest for the Mighty Sword http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100448

Taped off HBO, so there's no commercials...it's seen better days, but there's hardly any info of it at all on the Net, so I figure it might be worth preserving. I've got a capture card, just gotta find a decent VCR.

Dunno if requests are welcomed here…it’s quite the typical cheesy 80s time travelling movie, but if anyone ever catches Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time on HD television or has the means to transfer the Laserdisc, I’d kill to see it. I’ve got a copy I taped off TBS years ago, but it’s hardly worth capturing.

Probably a long shot, but I figure if we can get an HD capture of Howard the Duck, why not?
