And if anyone thinks this forum is 'quiet' and not followed by Disney and before that by Lucasfilm, I can tell you first-hand that you are rather mistaken.
I said "relatively" safe, as in, relative to Facebook ;) Compared to that, we're pretty quiet.
I've only been reading here, where it's relatively safe to talk secretly, and not on the Facebook page, where it's dangerous to say very much.

No one will take any legal action against him, because it would be dumb. Bad PR. He has publicity, and post like "sorry had to delete everything, Disney is after me" would generate shitstorm.
Yeah, this has become very big news. I've had friends who don't even care about Star Wars tell me that they heard it from different big news sources. They were even talking about it on the Free Beer and Hot Wings radio show.

It's good enough for casual viewing, sure, but I feel that for the sake of proper preservation ... youtube is insufficient.
I don't think too many people will be interested in a preservation of this crappy preview clip when they release the Real Deal later on down the line ;)

Just hoping they stay true to source material and not ruin the color timing or DNR it to hell.
and not through Criterion, but I'm sure it will be a great improvement over the Blu we have now.
Well I haven't seen anyone complain about the director-approved Total Recall BD that came out recently =)
...only complaint I have is that it still isn't the unrated version =( I would love to have that.

The shot with Michael stepping behind the hedge will be the most problematic shot of all due to the aforementioned digital tweaking.
The Colorlike script, from what I understand, is actually using the colors from the one source and putting those into the other source, so it shouldn't really be that problematic.
But maybe I am misunderstanding how it works.
Though honestly, I haven't really noticed any digital tweaking...all of the recolored shots I've seen OT members do look pretty close to the THX.
Is that anti-aliasing in the video, or is that just from scaling down the image?

I was watching this again, and right after the boyfriend leaves and Micheal starts going up the stairs, you can see the crew's shadows on the wall =)

Woah.
I'm not saying the color on the BD isn't wrong ;)

The colour timing is vastly different from the trailers...
We've been over this before in a discussion on ESB: the trailers come out way before the film is finished, so yeah, the final cut of the movie is probably going to have a different color timing than the trailers ;)
They also usually have a different soundtrack, different sound effects, sometimes different dialogue, different takes, and often scenes that aren't even in the finished movie.

The IMAX scenes ideally would be at their original 1.44:1 ratio and then seamlessly switch back to 2.35:1 for the Panavision 35mm majority.
But then all the 2.35:1 scenes would have to be pillarboxed and wouldn't fit the entire width of the TV, and I get the feeling that most people would be unhappy with that. It would be okay if we still had 4:3 ratio HDTVs...but unfortunately, those are getting more and more rare. And most of them probably don't play very nice with BluRay players.

The starfields will be replaced with a higher quality source.
Huh?
What are you, George Lucas?

We need a catchy, effective, and short slogan that accurately conveys what we're fighting for and manages to make us look like reasonable adults rather than immature children.
Instead of a slogan, maybe just a picture.
Little known fact: originally Leonardo da Vinci wanted a bushy, brown mustache on the Mona Lisa (actual hair protruding from the canvas), but he didn't have the technology, or the budget, to do so.

It sounds metallic, with a shrill, harsh kind of echo.
That description sounds like the audio on the NTSC Quantum Leap Season 3 =| Though I've only heard people complain that they censor some of the music, never heard anyone mention that the audio sounds like they put a microphone in a room and recorded it from an old TV.
(Might sound like that on other discs in the series too, but I've only checked out the one.)
I know I'm super late with this, but looking at that Caps-A-Holic link, I'm glad I missed out on that 25th Anniversary director's cut...though the Criterion still looks much better than the box set version that I have.
It's funny that, like Total Recall, the only thing that the remake has me excited about is a new release of the original movie =| I like the new TR BD a lot.

Maybe it's just the ADR goes slightly off, but you never noticed before because you weren't looking for it?
Yeah, uTorrent is pretty nice, I switched to it a long time ago (used BitTornado before that, started having problems).
Maybe your router settings need adjusting.
Would be a good idea (superimposing the fullscreen on top of the widescreen) if the sources matched perfectly...otherwise it would be a lot of work.
...I know, I'm stating the obvious =|

AFAICT nobody's spotted any differences in ROTJ presentations that would indicate home video got something different.
But Return of the Puggo hasn't been released yet ;) I wouldn't be surprised if we had another incident like PSB's mono mix.
...in fact, I might actually be a little disappointed if it's just a boring stereo folddown =/

* Many slight differences in the 70mm version of ESB (which is not what negative1 has)
...or maybe they do have a 70mm and they just haven't told anyone yet ;)
They'd probably need all new equipment to capture it with, so they wouldn't want to get our hopes up.

No luck with Jdownloader (which installed a virus/malware on my pc), either.
Let me guess: During installation, you just kept clicking next without reading each dialog, right?
I'm pretty sure he downloaded it from one of those fake websites, like this one: www.jdownloader.com <-- DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM HERE
I hate those sites. They pop up at the top of every search result, and if you're not paying attention, you might actually think they're legit...until you install the program and have your computer taken over =|
Edit: Ha ha, I just happened to notice the small text at the bottom of that page:
"Jdownloader.com is not the official website of JDownloader program. The official developers are in jdownloader.org"
Yep, that's the same HDTV that's been around for ages. Cropped =(
Every once in a while, Netflix streaming will have an uncropped version of it, but nobody's capturing from Netflix.
I've seen screen caps of HDTV rips of Goldeneye before, and they were all the cropped version.
But just in case, here's some good comparison shots:
http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2942
http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2183
The intro credits are a dead giveaway. The font is different, and in the cropped version, none of the credits stray very far from the center of the screen.
You'd need quite a bit of magic to fix Goldeneye, though @_@

Were they adjustment to the Criterion audio? Cause I can see it shifting sightly out of sync by one or two frames in some moments, and being perfectly synced the next.
Maybe it's just the ADR goes slightly off, but you never noticed before because you weren't looking for it?
