Meanwhile, I have Luke and Leia unrelated so I don’t have to deal with this.

For what?
You guys realize he had a human cameo in Solo.
The other thing that might be reworkable is I remember RL suggesting phrasing to the effect of the New Republic doesn’t want to start another war. I’m kinda weighing whether I like that or the complacency angle better.
Don’t know who RL is, but not wanting another war is definitely more interesting than complacency, as that would be a retread of how the previous Republic fell.
The Ascension of Skywalker sounds about right for a French translation. I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of it. It’s perfect!
I’ve never been that interested in TCW or Rebels, but I could easily imagine myself jumping in if there were movie edits of the shows. Does anyone know if there’s someone in our midst who is / has been juggling with this kind of an idea? A story arc in a single movie or two with all the filler cut out? To me, that would probably be the most enjoyable way of watching (or just look up all the filler episodes and skip them).
I always watch filler because one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, so I think I should see everything for myself to form my own opinion. I encourage everyone else to do the same.
TLJ should have at least had “of the” included.
Why?
Apparently they only got enough money for 8 new episodes, but used some of it to finish those 4 too, or something like that.
Source?
Later I became an Avatar fan so I really must get to it.
I don’t see what that has to do with anything.
Oh, that might’ve been added too. Or I guess it’s the Antilles thing.
I said it refers to an individual because the title is singular, but really, my point was really about the usage of a name. And no, this isn’t about it becoming a title, because it’s not Rise of the Skywalker.
Okay, here’s my theory. There’s a big showdown in the guts of the Death Star, all the Force Ghosts are present, everyone’s about to be blown up or something, and then Kylo has a big change of heart and self-sacrifices so that his beloved Rey (and co.) can escape. As he does so Palpasnoke is screaming “no, you are Master of the Knights of Ren!” and Kylo - just a Leia’s theme/Force theme mash-up swells - says “I am a Skywalker, like my mother before me!” before going kaboom.
I mean, I guess that’s not that far off from what I’m counting on. However, I hope they don’t have Ben sacrifice himself. Instead, have the Force Ghosts do that.
I find the issue not to be the video, but instead, the audio that lets it down. Though, I ain’t too keen on the video quality either.
Oh shit you’re right. The audio sucks too.
For context, Lucas actually added that bloody dismemberment in the cantina just so the film wouldn’t get a G.
Maybe you could combine audio with existing footage, like I did in this recent video (all footage save for the last two shots are from a different source than the audio).
If you’re gonna make the sage more kid friendly, the one thing you should do is dub the text (crawl and subtitles). I remember not being able to read the crawls as a kid, and honestly, even now it seems kinda silly to have people reading a large chunk of text in your film.
You mean like The Phantom Menace?
That’s a lot more vague.
I’m pretty sure Attack of the Clones is supposed to evoke B-movies. It’s a fine title. The only problem with it is it doesn’t reflect the actual film, as the clones never attack anything, but they do fight, which is pretty close.
Then L’apogée de Skywalker it shall be ?
What the fuck is an apogée? Then again, I actually can’t think of any French word for rise. Let’s see what Google says. Hausse, montée, relèvement, naissance- wait seriously? How do you translate rise to birth, Google? Then there’s crue, which is another word I’ve never heard of.
The saga titles haven’t sounded Star Warsy to me since The Force Awakens, and it’s only by chance they picked that one. The Last Jedi is derivative of Return of the Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker refers to an individual. Those things just feel wrong to me.
The trailer was good, though, and thank god they did one of the only things I hoped they’d do but didn’t think they’d have the courage to do.
Oh no, don’t tell me we have another Zerome on our hands.
Is there really no better source? That doesn’t really seem passable.
So I was planning on shooting my film tomorrow, and the rough cut is due next Tuesday, but I can’t for the life of me find an actress. None of this would’ve happened if my partner hadn’t ditched me.
Also, isn’t that Banana Splits reboot basically Five Nights at Freddy’s?
TBF, that addition emphasizes how crowded Mos Eisley is.
Like what? I thought that scene was just disliked for its bad CGI and ruining the reveal of Jabba.
Yes, I’m taking them from YouTube, but they sound perfectly fine to me, so I’m happy.
All pre-Disney Star Wars movies except RotS were PG, and there’s good reason RotS wasn’t. However, we live in an age where PG-13 is the standard, so movies that back in the day would’ve been PG are now PG-13. That doesn’t mean the films themselves are any less kid-friendly. TFA is perfectly suitable for a 7 year old or even a 5 year old. There’s nothing traumatizing in it, unless you count the death of a mentor.
Being the responsible parent that I am, I’m not entirely comfortable with him watching an M-rated movie (Australia’s equivalent to 12 or PG-13).
Can’t help but laugh thinking of the ESRB’s M for Mature.
Would Tarkin still die?
Pretty sure it’s been done or at least talked about before, so it’s not totally unprecedented.
