Give every film a Death Star for poetry.
Give every film a Death Star for poetry.
Sorry I kinda forgot about this thread since the first release, but here’s some more things I’ve been up to. I went ahead with my idea of using Fawkes the Phoenix as Dumbledore’s theme, adding it to the end of GoF and the King’s Cross scene in DH. I felt Buckbeak’s Flight was too good to only use once, so I added it to another flight scene, that of the Thestrals. Finally, I used The Quidditch Match from PS to inject some fun into the forest chase scene in DH. The color is also massively improved in that scene.
Well I certainly approve of it…but yeah, I’m probably the exception. The site is called OT.com for a reason.
I’m betting that in the new 4K release next year, they will have way more deleted scenes for the OT given how it’s been revealed that they’ve scanned all the original raw footage and have even shown some.
All of it?! Wow, they really went above and beyond this time. Do you have source on that?
Yes, everyone will finally have a full picture with, including the people behind Darths and Droids, who are supposed to start their ST adaptation once it’s concluded. I still need to read their version of the OT. But that’s getting off topic. Point is i agree that this will be a big moment in the ST editing scene.
Too sci-fi. It could work, but it’d have to be framed as the work of the Force.
Of course. Always wait for the conclusion before editing to see where it all goes.
So is there any way of giving the Knights of Ren lightsabers in that one shot they’ve appeared in so far?
How so?
I’d be all in for more personal stories set during the Clone War, I think it’d really do womders for that time period. We get some of it from the TV shows, but nothing actually good.
Spits out drink
One thing about the Old Republic era I’d like for them to “fix” is to create a substantial gap in technology. They don’t have to ruin the feel of SW, but the ships could be smaller and hyperspace much slower. Space, in general, would feel more dangerous. Although the Jedi and Sith would be greater in number, there would be less republic and empire. If that makes sense.
Couldn’t’ve said it better myself. It needs to look ancient.
Really? The Mandalorian looks so uninteresting.
DC Comics gets its name from its founders Paul Dodgson and Emmett Campbell.
While South Africa still exists today, its communist counterpart North Africa has since collapsed into various smaller countries.
This is a promising start. Like I said, much of it is usable. You just need to adjust the contrast and grain or something as well as the speed to make it match.
TBF, they pulled of Leia flawlessly. I guess the amount of screentime they gave Tarkin made it harder, combined with all the little wrinkles in his face.
Those are all fantastic ideas.
Replace Tarkin in ANH with RO Tarkin.
I always regarding the Obi Wan GG duel as being a cinematic refuge from a bad Steven Speilberg movie that was somehow spliced into Star Wars.
Actually, Lucas let Spielberg play around with the animatics for some scenes in RotS.
FWIW, Curse of the Black Pearl used many ideas from a cancelled Monkey Island movie.
I personally love having a SW movie every year so long as it’s not always a new Episode. I do think with the saga over, though, they should ease up on it. Personally I would’ve had two years between Episodes like the other two trilogies, with two more spinoffs in between to compensate for a good 7 years of annual SW, and then nothing for a good five years afterwards.
Lucasfilm should definitely try dabbling in other IPs they have.
While putting it in ANH wholesale would make it look ridiculously out of place for so many reasons, I think there’s some great material in there that would make for a solid improvement. Maybe I’ll try my hand at it in a bit. I’m definitely going to eventually.
Big words coming from you.
You mean have the opening shot of IX parallel the opening shot of I?
Actually I was thinking more having RoS’s closing shot mirror the opening shot of TPM. Mirroring the openings wouldn’t be true bookends.
Making any film besides the actual Prequels part of the PT is a terrible idea IMO, but I know there are others who agree with you on the matter. I just think they’re too close to the OT in style and factions. I prefer the PT being its own era rather than just the OT’s prequel.
With the ST trilogy in mind, I’d rather save the bookends for TRoS.
I’ve been saying to replace Starkiller Base’s superlaser with a ship-fired superlaser since before the dreadnoughts were even a thing. Now that they are, I’ve simply locked into that position.
