I’d be down for a randomized ending, as I literally have no preference.
I’d be down for a randomized ending, as I literally have no preference.
What if the Rebels had pyrrhic victory at the end of RotJ? Like, they win, but their entire fleet is annihilated. It would really suit the bittersweet victory theme and just would be neat in general. Remember when Ackbar hung his head in sadness after the battle was won, knowing all the losses it entailed.
They’re fanedits. They’re distributed on request.
As done as they’ll be for the time being. Someday, when I feel like rewatching the entire series, which I didn’t do this time around, I’ll watch these, and make plot-related edits afterwards. However that likely won’t be for a long time.
I’ve already released them. I can’t believe I forgot to post here to tell everyone!
Nicely done!
Some 50s Sci-Fi movie inspired titles: “The Planet Destroyer”, “The Thousand World Empire”
Sounding an awful lot like Empire of a Thousand Planets, there. Then again, it wouldn’t be the first time Star Wars is accused of stealing from Valerian.
That’s very SethBling.
I didn’t hear the word Sith anywhere in there.
During our trip to France which is now coming to an end, my brother has repeatedly told us the exploits of Donald E. Pudding, the inventor of pudding. He invented it in 1912 but died on his way to market it in America aboard the Titanic.
The Vader vision is an interesting idea.
Add Admiral Ackbar’s father to the Prequels and explain that they come from a long line of renowned trap-detectors.
Leaving the sister plotline in there without her being revealed is an idea I had long ago and honestly really liked because it would provide an unsolved mystery to wonder about. Unfortunately, putting in a fanedit wouldn’t much since half the fun of unsolved mysteries is the community trying to solve them, and the SW fandom at large already have their answer; it’s Leia. Also it’d be really weird not to address it in the ST, so I can’t see her not being Rey’s mother.
Why Boba of all people? It should’ve been Vader.
Man, Anakin’s Jedi Code loophole is actually a pretty clever line.
Oh you’re talking about James Cameron’s screensaver, not the 91 episodes of masterful storytelling. I’m out.
I thought it was pretty obvious he wouldn’t make it, but I guess explicitly saying it wouldn’t hurt. Then again, that’d be telling, not showing.
Flanderization! That’s the word I was looking for!..not that I knew I was for anything, but it perfectly encapsulates the issue.
It was a play on the famous line by the English writer G.K. Chesterton in 1911
Wow. TIL.
I feel like post Death Star Jedha would have perpetually cloudy skies. It ought to look post-apocalyptic, since, you know, it is.
The Tatooine oasis thing is interesting. And I didn’t Cantonica was a desert planet, so that’s neat to know. Basically, the idea for making it Tatooine is already in place for those who want to.
Look, it’s either all blue, or any color. Lucas picked a really weird middle ground for some reason. I like the idea of everyone but Luke and Qui-Gon being blue.
The sound is fine, don’t worry. The asteroids could use a slight lighting touch-up but otherwise very good.
Canto Bight could also be Tatooine.
Could but not should.
Would also require removing all the plantlife and water, so quite a bit of work.
Well at least what’s made isn’t lost. That’s really uplifting.
I think it would be a good idea to set up in the crawl or anywhere that Starkiller base is built on Jeddah or however you spell it, that’s where the kyber is, it’s powered by the planet not a stupid star. And it would link to Rouge one in a good way.
Or you could, you know leave it as is where it is heavily (and I mean heavily) implied to be Ilum, the planet where Jedi would go to get lightsaber crystals in the days of the Republic, as featured in TCW… I don’t see a need to link up to Rogue One anyway. This isn’t the MCU. The spinoffs aren’t setting up anything; they’re their own stories. That’s why I was baffled by people thinking Vader’s castle would show up in the ST.
Anyway, here’s the state of the uninspired planets and what could be done to remedy them (largely taken from my previous statements but centralized in one post):
Jakku: Honestly, just make this Tatooine for poetry’s sake. Just add a second sun to some scenes and voila. In fact, you don’t even need to go that far, as you could argue the second sun only shows up on certain days. Alternatively, if you want to keep the planet distinct, cacti would help.
Takodana: Oh my this one is so generic. We’ve had Yavin, Endor, and Naboo, we do not need another forest planet. While Endor is pretty distinct the other three are very similar, so I recommend making Takodana either Yavin or Naboo. I’m leaning towards Naboo, as it’s been shown to be widely inhabited, and has an abundance of water. If one were to make it distinct, the trees need to remain green due to Rey’s line, and I don’t see what else you could do with it. If anything, you should change the leaf color of Yavin, but editing the OT that way would be seen as sacrilege by most.
D’Qar: This one I think we can creative with. Add mountains to the few wide shots and suddenly you have Lothal.
Pasaana: Yet another desert. Since the film isn’t out yet, we can’t say for sure how to approach it, but I recommend making it a distinct planet from Tatooine, unless you like the idea of every film but one having Tatooine in it. Once again, cacti could be used.
And can I just say congrats to TLJ for not making this list.
