“I am all the Sith the Senate.”
“And I am all the Jedi Iron Man.”
“I am all the Sith the Senate.”
“And I am all the Jedi Iron Man.”
Lucas always hated the idea of vibroblades clashing with lightsabers and the idea seems to have been carried pretty wholeheartedly into modern canon, so it seems very strange they’d do it here.
Overlay the Battlefront 2 HUD over the entire movies.
Just had a look at the scene again and for some unexplained reason, the lightsaber does seem to make contact with one or two of the weapons. Maybe it’ll cleared once we have access to the scene in HD.
Because it’s not centered around the Skywalker family, and I wish Lucasfilm would realize that. It’s not the Skywalker Saga, it’s just the Saga.
I think 3 companions is the max. They’ve just been mishandled. Moffat never had any problem balancing out Amy, Rory, and River. Also, Graham is a fantastic companion and don’t you dare say otherwise.
Sure you can, you just cut around it.
I’m definitely giving them lightsabers. I feel it’s dumb for them not to have any and it only happen to ape the OT.
I actually really like the breakneck pace, so I think I’ll do fine without deleted scenes, but it’s still really disappointing they have them.
Well the second arc is Ahsoka’s Walkabout, which has never previously been released in any form, so I’d say 2/3 is new. Regardless, I wish they’d just produce all of the remaining arcs. There’s still two seasons’ worth of content on the cutting room floor. Surely that’s not too much to ask for.
No Eleven. Every scene with Eleven up to the point where she appears in Byers’ house was removed.
I mean it makes sense for runtime but at the same time you’re losing by far the best plotline. If anything, I’d rather have a movie just covering El’s story in Season 2.
That’s really bizarre. Usually any movie’s home release has deleted scenes.
To represent new life?
So a lot of people have pointed out how there’s no reason for Rey to go back to Tatooine, a place she’s never been where Luke always wanted to leave and Leia was a sex slave, and bury Luke and Leia’s lightsabers. What if instead she went to Jakku and visited the graves of her parents? The scene plays out with much of the same footage, but cutting out the homestead and lightsaber burial.
This was literally planned under Lucas. A series called SW: Underworld. Live-action too. Just wasn’t feasible budget-wise.
My logic is that Vader’s redemption came outta nowhere whereas Kylo’s is set up, so it’s hypocritical to say Kylo couldn’t be redeemed but Vader could be.
Also, I’m pro-Reylo.
Talks about it being an occult sex ritual in front of his acolytes actually intrigues me, although I wouldn’t consider it arousing by any means.
See this is why I don’t like calling it the Skywalker Saga. It’s about more than just the Skywalkers.
For me the line that really hurt was this:
Rose: Only one business can get you this rich.
Finn: War.
Rose: Selling weapons to the First Order.
It feels so redundant and tacked, being even more on the nose then the message already was, and it totally kills the flow of the dialog.
Yeah, I have no problem with him having had a kid (although I think it would have to have been without his knowledge). I just have a problem with Rey being his grandchild.
I believe removing Palpatine entirely from the film would be either impossible, or the amount of excision needed would leave the film unsatisfying.
He doesn’t have that many scenes, and you could have Kylo do all the legwork since he pretty much already does.
Regardless, I prefer having Palpatine. In fact, I’m extremely thankful he’s there. The story just wouldn’t have felt like a meaningful part of the Saga without him.
As for editing the Originals, I have no restraint. Nothing is sacred here. I hold all the films to equal scrutiny. What I value is a cohesive nine film saga.
Wait, which deleted scene? I don’t remember that one.
I remember trying to edit around those shots to include just the more seamless ones.
AOTC and ROTS still have unreleased deleted scenes (scripted and filmed, and included in the comic and novelisation) 15 years later.
Please tell me all about them. I find it incredible that to this day I’m still finding new deleted scenes for RotS. I guess that makes sense given the first cut was apparently four hours. God, I can just imagine how awful that middle section must be to sit through at that length.
To me, the issue with SC38 Re is not with the choreography, but rather the cinematography. The constant shaky cam and lens flares are what take me out of it. If those two issues could be fixed, I’d be all for integrating the scene. Just look at how good this shot of the doors opening would be for an edit. Better combat, but no jarringly anachronistic cinematography.
