Last web series/tv show seen
Time

Currently watching Code Lyoko (rewatch) in the morning and Batman: The Animated Series (first time) at night. They work well in those time slots.

Given how old you folks here tend to be, you probably aren’t familiar with Code Lyoko, but do yourself a favor and give it a shot. It’s about a group of schoolkids defending the Earth from an evil computer virus by entering a virtual world while trying to bring their virtual friend into the real world. The first season episodes are all self-contained (save for the finale) but later seasons have story progression. Oh and the real world is 2D animation while the digital world is 3D.

Batman is great too, but the Internet has already waxed endlessly about it’s greatness, so I don’t feel the need to add to it. I’d be hard-pressed not to mention it’s brilliant stylized art deco design, though.

I tried very hard not to fall asleep watching Punch Drunk Love, and once the credits started rolling I felt like I wasted two hours of my life.

To put it in perspective, one of the other movies was Paterson. Literally nothing happens. Even worse was The Rider from an earlier semester. It’s genuinely the single worst movie I have ever seen. No entertainment value whatsoever.

Unusual <strong>Sequel Trilogy</strong> Radical Redux Ideas Thread

After watching TFA for the first time I got the impression that Luke went specifically to the first Jedi temple to learn something, perhaps even searching for the source of Snoke’s power.

Same.

The Emperor is the head of the Empire, which was the main threat of the original trilogy. Another separate threat would be introducing a new and separate antagonist. Lucas never did this. Snoke and the First Order was the primary antagonist, setting up Kylo to supplant him. Having an extra force to fight against that The First Order also has to fight against would have convoluted everything, be that threat another force or Knights of Ren.

Honestly, if in Episode IX something like the Yuuzhan Vong had shown up outta nowhere and the finale was about the First Order and Resistance teaming up for the greater good, I’d have been so down for that.

Idea &amp; Info: Episodes 1-9 into ONE cohesive Fanedit?
Time
  1. Duel of the Fates prologue (“Promise me you will train the boy.”).

  2. Anakin meets Padme for the first time as a padawan.

  3. Palpatine seduces Anakin to the Dark Side.

  4. Mustafar confrontation.

  5. Match fade Binary Sunset.

  6. Luke finds Leia’s message, meets the crew, rescues her.

  7. The Empire follows them back to Hoth and a battle ensues.

  8. Luke goes to Dagobah to train while the Falcon loses the Empire in an asteroid field. Ben tells Luke Vader is his father.

  9. The Battle of Endor. No celebration beyond the modest Ewok party and no ghosts (they provide way too much finality).

  10. Luke nearly kills Ben (the rise of Kylo Ren). Luke exiles himself. Kylo kills Han.

  11. Leia hears the news and sends Poe to Jakku in response.

  12. Jakku misadventures.

  13. Stop on D’Qar before Ach-To and First Order attack.

  14. Godspeed, Rebels.

  15. Kylo meets Palps.

  16. Kylo goes to Kef Bir (why?) and encounters his father’s memory, convincing him to return to the light.

  17. Fight to the finish on Exegol!

Admittedly, this is probably still, like, 6 hours, but it’s a start.

jonh, how about you call in as “the Phantom four” or “Spectre four” or some synonym for ghost?

Or “Jedi Haircut” lol

“this is the Phantom four, standing by” i like it!!!
I send it to you today 😃

Canonically, the crew use Specter as a callsign, with each member being Specter 1-6. The Phantom is the name of the small ship that attaches to the back of the Ghost.

After 3PO says “One last look… at my friends!” it would be cool to have a short montage of Luke, Han and Leia from the Original Trilogy. This would make is appear 3PO is accessing his memory banks of Luke, Han and Leia instead.

No, that’s a horrible idea. The ST is already too obsessed with OT as it is. I’d allow the montage if it includes the Prequels and a bit of the Sequels, tying it all together, but just the Originals would be insulting. I get that has Prequel memories haven’t been restored at this point, but that’s not important.

I decided I wanted to put my mental C-3PO inventory to some more good use, so I spent a few minutes screwing around with the scene where 3PO gets his memory back.

THIS IS ROUGH, I haven’t done anything with pruning the audio yet, this is just raw lines used:

I really didn’t like the joke about R2 “putting something in his head” as well as the smash cut mid-sentence, so I changed it.

I hope Snooker gets a chance to see my “mistress Rey” line replacement since she was the one who gave me the idea!

I agree with what Octorox said; the Prequel reference is nice but the original smash cut line was much better.
