I just meant that’s what Star Wars is as it exists as opposed to how one might for it to be. It doesn’t have to be like that, but it’s the reality we live in so far.
Another fallen Skywalker, another Sith Empire, another Jedi purge. Wash, rinse, repeat, ad infinitum.
I mean, yeah, that’s Star Wars. Not exactly the most innovative franchise.
Wow, just now rereading my Batman synopsis at the top of this page and boy have things changed in the past 2 and a half years. It’s morphed into something completely different, though still retaining certain elements. It’s now the story of Tim Drake seen from his perspective and the actual plot is barely recognizable.
Man, you guys don’t like Legacy?
The Last Crusade is the best Indiana Jones movie and y’all are just wrong.
That’s the popular opnion among the masses, but I find among hardcore Indy fans on the Raven a lot of them will agree with me that it’s actually the weakest of the first three for how light it is and how much ground it retreads.
I think that’s technically what’s written in my notes, if only because I’m saving Victory Celebration for TRoS.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is fun and y’all are just mean.
I will say the second half was lacking a bit of character, being little more than a series of action setpieces with interchangeable characters. The antagonists and protagonists also got a long a bit too well, only occasionally getting into fights but working together just as often. It’s still nowhere near the travesty make it out to be, and I’d put the first half on par with The Last Crusade (my least favorite of the original three) while the second half is a fun rollercoaster/video game.
I feel like that would be by far the most natural and sensible option. I imagine it could be done if someone found the right source.
I still keep a changelist, but a new attempt will not happen until I decide to rewatch the movies, which could be at any moment.
I just saw Beetlejuice with my dad. Fantastically fun movie.
I disagree.
I don’t see what’s wrong with Obi-Wan lying about that given the circumstances.
I kissed a girl and I liked it! It was slimier than I expected though.
You could always include the deleted scene of Leia sending Korr Sella to Hosnian Prime to inform the Senate. That at least clarifies that there is a senate.
I might go see Indiana Jones V but if i do i would be a fool to trust Lucasfilm again.
Do it. It’s gonna be great.
Vol. 2 is a lot better though. There’s less blood, less cheese, and more nuance. Tarantino’s strongest aspect, his dialogue writing, is at full force here.
The most memorable thing to me about that movie’s dialog is that Quentin Tarantino apparently doesn’t understand Batman. Bruce Wayne is the disguise, ya stupid Bill.
I just saw Terminator for the first time and it was great. It’s interesting how I knew the entire premise through pop culture osmosis and what I didn’t know was predictable yet I had so much fun with it. I’ll be looking forward to the second one since I hear it’s really good too.
Minions 2. Absolutely awful. Haven’t liked a single one of these since Despicable me 2 or Minions 1.
Then why do you keep rewarding them for bad movies by paying to see them?
That’s fair. The problem I have with that scene in a Finn-Rose romance edit is when he walks away with the hand on the shoulder and the tight-lipped smile I read it as almost patronizing. There is no warmth there. Ultimately it’s less about adding in a suggestion of romance but more taking out something that possibly contradicts the believability of romance between them.
I get what you’re saying and I think the best way to remedy that would be to somehow add a shot after the Finn taps her shoulder where we see Rose’s face and she’s smiling. Preferably a close-up. I’d imagine assembling such a shot would be no small feat, however. Maybe utilize some footage of Kelly Marie Tran in another movie?
I’m a little confused what you’re going with the second one. Are you just trying to imply Finn and Rose keep chatting?
It’s not convincing. The establishing shot is excellent, but the subsequent shot has a canted angle that doesn’t align with the Prequels’ cinematography, and the fact that it’s not cutting from the establishing shot straight to the speakers is super weird. The lipsync is also completely off, while it’s very obvious the audio is taken from Vader’s knighting. I respect the attempt but it doesn’t quite work.
If it’s of any help, I made a compilation of all of Rose’s appearances in the film a while back. There really isn’t much to work with. I’d say her conversation with Finn on Ajan Kloss at the start of the film is the only chance we have to squeeze out some romance.
It’s too fast to make out. “Rose. Please. Allum.” The first version was better.
If you are going to jam in Leia as his daughter
Don’t
Padme living is something a lot of editors do to align with Leia’s line in RotJ about having known her mother (which is pretty dumb imo - much smoother to just delete the line in RotJ).
