Nah. Star Wars doesn’t have the same Christian undertones as LotR. The Force is modelled more off Eastern traditions.

These changes feel very petty. Only the name “Darth Sidious” is really an explicit Prequel reference. The Sequels pretty much ignore the Prequels.
Why can’t we just make it golden in TFA instead?
I’ve generally had a rough life mentally speaking. I’ve had long stretches of times when I’m not well. This just happens to be the place I choose to vent about it. I think it’s cuz I’m not good at making and keeping close friends.
I feel so goddamn miserable. I think it’s the quarantine.
In a vacuum with only the other titles The Last Jedi is a bad title for reusing the word “Jedi” from Return of the Jedi, while The Rise of Skywalker is a good title for rhyming with Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi. In actuality, The Last Jedi reflects the film’s contents rather well while The Rise of Skywalker does not.
Either way The Force Awakens works wonderfully, so I guess it’s the real winner of the Sequels.
As for in general, I think I’m gonna go with Revenge of the Sith as the best title. Elegant and describes the film well.
Something that bugged me in Stranger Things is in S2 at the start we see a flashback to S1, but it’s painfully obvious Finn Wolfhard is older. I wonder if this could be fixed with a redub and maybe a deepfake.
Idk, to me the Whills and Midichlorians feel like they’re deepening the mystery more than answering it, if that makes sense. It feels like diving headfirst into the Star Wars Silmarillion. I like deeplore like that. And we have no idea in what manner it would’ve been integrated. I highly doubt the entire trilogy would’ve been Finn, Rey, and Luke Osmosis Jonesing through Poe’s body as Luke plays Miss Frizzle and explains what a midichlorian is. They would’ve come up once or twice but there’d still be the shooty shooty bang bang as the main attraction.
Well there’s always the approach of Palpatine killing kids, which is the route I’m taking. He ignites his saber then makes a sinister smile.
You guys see any potential uses for this? There’s also some additional deleted shots in the making of video including with a Jedi who’s a Sequel alien, which would tie things together nicely. I think that shot of Anakin in the Jedi Temple, which as the making of video points out is based on a deleted RotS shot could act as a replacement for the youngling massacre.

I hope it’s achieved using a puppet again
Guess who’s back
Back again
Well damn, that’s bound to come in handy.
I’m sorry for my post and the trouble it caused. Amandla Stenberg did nothing wrong here. I hope you guys understand I’m not a fascist. I will try to do better in the future to avoid repeat this. I have nothing against you, and I hope we can all continue to be friends.
The High Republic is 100% what intrigues me about this. We haven’t even gotten any live-action Clone Wars (The Mandalorian flashback aside), let alone this mysterious High Republic era that distantly precedes it. What are they even gonna do for villains? The Nihl like in the novels? Can’t have the Sith since they’ve been gone for a millenium.
Oh and there’s the classic “My thoughts dwell on your mother.”
Well if we want silence we can always replace all the films with black screens without sound, each exactly the same runtime as the theatrical cuts.
I second that remark on Canadian Universities.
Is there a political thread we can take this conversation to to avoid further derailing talk of The Acolyte?
I don’t have anything wrong with hiring diverse people, it’s woke people I don’t like, and there’s a big difference. Even then, it’s only a dealbreaker if it actually seeps into the content itself, which like I said is unlikely.
This is absolutely fascinating. Definitely saving this!
You’re a fascist. (Did I hit you hard enough?)
Anyway, I don’t see this becoming an issue in the show itself. As much as I hate woke culture, I have yet to see any Star War content embrace it. Any problems with the series’s recent output have nothing to do with some “political agenda”. It’s mass media for general audiences, so it’s kept as apolitical as possible. At most you get the hilariously pitiful passive progressive bits like the infamous lesbian kiss in TRoS. I’m all for gay representation but that was just insulting. I guess you could argue there’s merit in treating it with subtlety in the long run to destigmatize it, but it didn’t come off that way.
I can’t wait for release dates and trailers to start rolling out. This is going to be a great year for Star Wars fans (Acolyte is 2023).
I can’t help but think back to that video someone linked in the Rangers of the New Republic thread about how every announced project is a Schrodinger’s Cat until they start filming. Then again, I suppose casting is a good sign.
And you say this is going to be a great year then specify that The Acolyte is next year? I’m a little confused here.
Well if we’re gonna do that, might as well go all the way and split the Saga into a 25 season television show.
Can they give us something delving into all that Whills deeplore? That’d be nice.
I find very few youtube channels I enjoy listening too regarding Star Wars. Star Wars Explained is one, and sometimes Hello Greedo. The rest are tiresome and I refuse to reward their click-bait efforts.
Have you tried Mr. Sunday Movies? Pure charisma and good laughs all around, never too serious. Obviously not a Star Wars centric channel but they do cover it.
