Revenge of the Sith (Compelete voiceover/New Dub edit) (* unfinished project *)
Time

Thinking of adding that scene in ep2 with Dooku talking with the separatists in Geonosis and the short clip with that Muun as a Palatine flash back scene of Plagueis telling/teaching him about manipulation.

Part of what makes that scene work is that you never see Plagueis. It would ruin the mystery to have a clear shot of him like that, not to mention he would look silly. Besides, it’s totally pointless.

Forgot about that scene, but checking it now, the Queen doesn’t say a word. I’m looking for scenes where she speaks to interact with Dooku. I tried messing with some audio effects to try to get Padme’s voice from the original scene to sound like the Queen’s. I didn’t get any satisfactory results.

On the other hand, I’ve been making good progress getting Captain Panaka to say “A transmission from Count Dooku.” I used Windu saying “Count Dooku” with slight uppitching, though. The only word I’m missing is “from”.

With Dooku, you could either film a hooded stand in or darken/ hide Sidious’s face, and dub him using dialogue from Clone Wars.

That’s what I initially intended to do for my edit, but then realized that wouldn’t line up with how he is depicted in the other films. He’s the public leader of the Seperatist, not a suspicious hooded figure.

I tried creating that scene you spoke of between Dooku and Amidala. The deleted scene that serves as the base is shot from Dooku’s side, so the footage wouldn’t work for a scene of face-to-face communication. Besides, Jango’s in the shot. I tried working with the footage of Dooku talking to Obi-Wan, as it’s the only one with the kind of shots needed. I managed to find footage to go with the line “We don’t recognize the Republic out here.” Maybe the line “It’s a pity our paths had never crossed.” could be used too?

My thoughts on various changes
Time

To be blunt, I think you’re trolling us.

Not this again. I got the same response when I proposed remaking the First and Second Doctor adventures from Doctor Who. Granted, in retrospective, it was a pretty terrible idea, but still.

Anyway, back to SW, I guess if you think ghosts can shapeshift, that’s fine. There’s no way I can prove otherwise. I guess if we’re just seeing what Luke sees based on his own expectations, he could’ve been what Luke figured Anakin looked like before the lava incident. However, I find it hard to believe Luke would never have seen actual pictures of him, so him just looking the way Luke expects would actually make Hayden an even more appropriate choice, since Luke would probably be oblivious to all the Tuskens, younglings, and other people he killed in that form.

Help: I don't suppose anyone would be willing to dress up as Count Dooku?
Time

I want to add Dooku to TPM. The way I envision it would require new footage of him. I’m thinking behind the blue blur (not this one) of a hologram, someone other than Christopher Lee could pull off the part convincingly. This hologram would replace that of Sidious in two scenes (the conference aboard the Donut (because as far as I’m concerned, that might as well be that ship’s name), and the conversation in the throne room). This would probably be supplemented by one or two clips from AotC to show you Dooku in person, albeit away from the action.

Long story short, I need someone to play the part of Count Dooku for a couple of scenes. While they will be blurred by being a hologram, they should at least somewhat resemble him (hence why I don’t want to play him myself). The costume is fairly simple, and all footage would of course be shot against a greenscreen.

I know I’m asking for a lot, but I figured it can’t hurt to try asking.

Also, I think Anakin Starkiller is feigning ignorance. No one can be this dense.

What’s this supposed to mean?

In regards to repetition, I just didn’t know what else to say. In retrospective, I suppose it was pointless, but what can I say; I was triggered. Anyway, at this point I can’t be bother to debate this anymore. Besides, like I said, there’s nothing more for me to add. We’ll just have to agree to disagree. In the meantime, I’ll be contemplating the feasibility of editing Shaw’s ghost to look like Vader unmasked.

Personally I’m making Dooku the main villain of the trilogy, replacing Sidious in many scenes, as it fits better in canon (although that’s not relevant in this thread), and will probably be easier to pull off.

It’s a radical shift in the story content of the PT. It’s relevent 😃

What I meant is that not contradicting canon doesn’t lend itself well to radical changes.

Episode VI: Return of the Ridiculousness
Time

The twist of Leia being Luke’s sister is just asking to be made fun of. Why not have a bunch of other characters gradually reveal that they’re related to him too?, with increasingly minor character related in increasingly minor ways. Either that, or make it really obvious that Obi-Wan’s lying when he answers yes to Leia being Luke’s sister, but Luke buys it anyways. Anyway, I’m gonna go put a laugh track over that scene now.

Idea: A sensible Han Solo rescue attempt plan...
Time

Lastly, I would explore explaining away the ineffectiveness of the gas in Jabba’s subsequent subtitles, something to the effect of “you must think us fools to try that old trick”.

I was thinking something more to the effect of “You fool. [Gas name] gas has no effect on hutts.” Then again, everyone around him was fine too, so I guess that wouldn’t work. That said, your line wouldn’t be any better, since it doesn’t actually explain why they weren’t affected.

I’m also trying to rework Han’s rescue for my edit. I’ve decided to skip the droids’ arrival to start with Leia’s arrival. We’re never shown how Lando got in the Palace, so why would the droids be any different. You don’t need to know that Luke gave them to Jabba as a gift or whatever. It’s easy for the viewer to fill in the blanks.

I’m having Luke start on Dagobah as a way to explain why he’s not involved in the first rescue attempt. He only intervenes after plan A fails. However, it just occured to me that this would create the plot hole of why Luke gave R2 his lightsaber. For that matter, R2 should be with him on Dagobah. Maybe this isn’t such a simple change after all. I suppose the solution would be to have R2 arrive with Luke. Given that I’m scrapping the droid’s arrival, it might be feasible to remove him from the earlier scenes.

Like I said, I just don’t find Jar Jar’s stupidity annoying. If anything it’s endearing. As for him being a racial stereotype, that’s simply ludicrous. What little evidence there is is circumstantial and laughably insignificant. The fact he doesn’t even look remotely like a jamaican alone should be enough to dismiss this claim. AotC Watto, on the other hand…

First of all, can I just say good on you for providing a clear overview of the general changes instead of just listing every single change in a list that makes me go TL;DR. I don’t care about minor changes, and though having a list of them is good, it’s not what I come here for. I get that it’s harder for more conservative edits, but it’s still worth trying. You also went the extra mile and made some banners for each section which is nice.

In terms of specifics, I disagree on some things, like removing Yoda, and the droids. However, I think we are on the same page when it comes to making Dooku the overarching villain. I intend to make him the dragon of the trilogy, equivalent to Vader in the Originals (as you can probably guess by the image in the page I linked to). Introducing the Seperatists in TPM does seem like the next logical step, but I won’t introduce the clones until AotC, so how would the Galaxy defend itself in the decade until then? Anyway, my plan was to recast Dooku (that can be excused by him aging ten years, right?), as I don’t see how it can be pulled off using only existing footage. Aside from the scene where he offers Padme to join the Seperatists, what is there to work with? I was similarly planning on including him on the bridge of the Donut (as far as I’m concerned, that’s the ship’s name) via hologram. I figured he’d replace Sidious, which I don’t think can be done with existing footage. How where you planning on pulling it off.
